Auckland Drops the Ball in the Opening of the Rugby World Cup 2011

Archive: 2 posts

An expected 50,000 people were to be in central auckland to celebrate the rugby world cup opening ceremony. The waterside venue was approximated to hold 12,000. Streets swarmed with both Tongan and New Zealand supporters, as they chanted the names of their country's rugby team.
I went, and had one of the worst days of my life. Did anyone else go?
Please share your experience and I will share mine once I get to a computer.

I don't really care for rubgy, so I didn't bother to watch the opening.
But everyone I have talked to (or should I say, have talked to me about it ) said the opening was really great. (However they only watched it, they didn't actually attend like yourself.)

What I did think was funny, was in that match last night (UK vs ARG?) the numbers on the back of the UK's shirt were falling off, ha.
