Not anytime real soon. I Move pack with all the new decs, music, materials etc, will keep me going for a while.

I will walk away one day, but it won't be soon.

There is no game quite like LBP, not with the same charisma, style and creative power. I know I will play this game for as long as the servers are up or until someone makes something even better. But is that even possible? Can MM or someone else make a Create mode as versatile and powerful as LBP's? With a range of player customization as big as our planets/pods/sackpersons? With the potential to have the same legacy on its community like the MM picks, and as much impact on the published content as the "big" DLC's have done until now?2011-09-08 21:44:00

I'm moving out and i'm off to university in just over a weeks time. I'm not bringing my PS3 with me.

I love LBP, but there's other more important matters at hand right now. I think it's the same for most people who have moved on.

Obviously if they've left, they're not going to be here to answer your post

I left for six months or so during lbp1 for a few reasons. I realized that I was kind of addicted to it and was neglecting real life responsibilities so that I could spend more time creating and at the same time I realized I wasn't having as much fun as I used to. So I took a six month break. That's why I left the first time.

For the past five or six months I've been on quite a bit less than I used to--I'm not actually leaving just yet, but I haven't been playing all that much and I've done hardly any serious creating since my last published level back in like March or April or whenever. I think this time it's more because I simply have other things to do so I haven't had as much time. Besides that, I think all of the options in lbp2 have actually made it harder for me to stay motivated. A big part of the fun I've had in lbp is the thrill of figuring out ways to work around the limitations of the game, but with all the power we've been given in lbp2, I spend less time solving problems and more time doing the actual building, which is much more efficient but not nearly as much fun for me. Still, I'm not ready to quit outright--I have a level/series that I really want to build if I can just muster up the gumption to put in the work.

Lbp is game where..anything is possible. The game is endless. I'm a kid..not as much resposibilty, free for a while.. I'll play LBP for as long as I can, till I have to grow up.

One things for sure though, people take breaks, it doesn't mean there done forever, they just don't play as much. Life just gets in the way. But until then, i'll play as much as i can.

I left for a year before. Not for a busy reason, but rather pure boredom. I tuckered out LBP1. Everyone has reasons why they come and go indeedy.

I may leave someday, just like many others will. But until then, I'll keep playing LBP2. Even more than I did on LBP1, because I've made wonderful friends here...

...and I blew $100+ on the game's DLC already. Can't let it go to waste can I?

LBP2 appeals to me as a creative toy, so as long as it has online/sharing capabilities I'll be around.

UPDATE: That said, I am trying to quit. Many small and unimportant reasons for it, as far as a stranger would care, but I do have one general complaint, and it's the one that appies to all social media. The user content business model is ridiculous. "Playing" in social media is a full time job and often a costly one. It's why I stay away from Twitter and Facebook and the like, and those are the free models, so I've kind of shocked myself investing so much in LBP and LBP2, a social media project that has various cost barriers, is harder to monetize, and is hampered by its own very arbitrary and easily exploited filters which over enough time ruin not just the LBP experience but can prevent a user from enjoying the hardware that plays the game. I haven't had a truly lousy experience yet, but between trolls, horror stories by more successful players, and many hard drive crashes due to the game's fidgety save system and updates, I know it's just a matter of time. And to quit after something truly lousy happens is not something I look forward to. The dreadful anticipation alone takes the fun out of things.

I leave LBP all the time, but I always come back. I do keep track of LBPC when I'm not playing, so maybe I'm not really gone.

In any case, I don't think I'll ever completely abandon LBP unless 1) they (Mm?) release a better create game, 2) I decide to put my game design efforts in a "real" game, or 3) I'm the only one left in the game (which I wouldn't notice anyway because I'm offline in create mode ).

I'm not going to be leaving anytime soon. I don't create levels to become known and get thousands of plays-I create for pure fun and satisfaction. LBP2 has brought me so much more joy than any other game has or will.2011-09-09 12:34:00

I leave for brief stints, mainly to finish other games like Fallout 3, but for the most part I'm like fumetsusozo and snipysev, I'll be playing LBP till I'm old n gray and using my walker or hoveround to turn on my PS3, till the nurses at the nursing home pry the controller out of my cold dead hands!

@fighterwindplus -- Some of us may take a little offense at the "till I grow up" comment. Some of us are well into adulthood. My dad still plays LBP as well as a host of other games and he's in his 60's. I'll never "grown up" it keeps me young. Life is too short to "grow up" Sure, we all grow up in some ways, shucking some childish behaviors, making better decisions etc. but....oh what the heck...nana nana boo boo stick your head in do do

Guess I was not the only one also thinking that. xD
I just did not say anything as he may or may not have mean it that way. so I just avoided it altogether.
anyways.

I never understood why some young people say "once I grew up I'll quit playing games"
like as if saying they think once they grew up they won't be wanting to ever have fun anymore
or have dreams anymore. Games were never made for only young people to enjoy.
I'm always surprised when I meet people who don't know that. *mew

Like the saying goes "Your never to old to have fun and to dream my friend" :&apos

Let me rephrase I guess. Lol What i meant by that is, when Ihave just a TAD bit more resposibilties, I might need to stop, but believe me, I can see myself playing LBP in the future. Probably well in my 60's lol. ALL i'm saying is, we'll take breaks eventually, age is a factor in those breaks, So that was my point. 2011-09-10 05:27:00

I want to say that I'll never leave or I don't know when but that would be a straight out lie. I'll quit when I become better developing games on my computer, when LBP is too small on the scale of making my crazy design ideas fun to play, when I can properly make my projects come to life in Unity. So, roughly, 1-2 years, maybe? 2011-09-11 01:27:00

When of free will, I am always away but never really gone. I have plenty of games to play and I play the game I am in the mood for. I could not log into LBP for a week if some other game holds my attention, but I will always come back refreshed, with new energy and ideas.

I want to make sure creating in LBP never feels like a chore. When it does for a moment, I go do something else.

I did leave LBP2 for a period, about from March to June or July. It wasn't so much out of boredom as much as other new games getting my attention. When there wasn't a huge amount of new stuff for the summer, I got back into it, and will keep playing as long as people keep making good levels and MM puts out new DLC.2011-09-16 18:41:00

I'll never leave LBP as long as the servers are up. Lonely playing offline.

I've been playing LBP going on 3 years and during that time I've only bought like 3 games, which I rarely played after buying, well except FFXIII which I took a 1 month break from LBP to platinum. LBP is literally the only game I need though.

I do take breaks time to time. My last long break was for like 4 to 5 months from the end of 2009 to March 2010. Then earlier this year I took a 1 month break around May or June that I spent playing Maple Story. But no matter what I play nothing keeps me as interested as LBP.

I have spent more time playing LBP than probably all the other games total game time I have played in my life combined through my 20 years of gaming. I think my next break will be for Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, but I'll never be done with LBP as long as servers are up.

I officially retired from LBP after publishing my last level (Space Assassins 2).

I've started training as a games artist/animator with a company called Train2Game and I need to concentrate on my studies which involve learning to use 3DS Max, Photoshop, etc, so I simply can't afford the time to work on any more levels. It's tough becuse my head is still full of stuff I want to do in LBP, but it's important that I remain focused and discipline myself.

I'll still be hanging around the forums like a bad smell that won't go away though

I havent played in a couple of months because of classes and limited time. But i don't see me as walking away. If I didnt have so many classes then I would be playing almost everyday. But I can't.I'll be back as soon as time frees up. Just taking a break. And developing some good knowledge and ideas in the meantime so that I can be even better when I come back. That's what keeps me hopeful and going.2011-09-24 05:24:00

I am currently on a break from LBP.
I haven't played it for a few weeks now, I spent about 4 hours in create mode every day for about 2 weeks working on OzDust and I just became sick of it. That, coupled with a whole heap of work to do, meaning I barely have the time to go on anyway. Fear not though, I shall return very soon!

[Yipes, my activity has gone way down during my break, used to be up in the 70%s.. ]

Ive recently decided that I'm going to be leaving LBP. I love the game. Too much. It takes up too much of my time and I need to be focusing more on school. I will probably still play on weekends or breaks, but my creating days are over. Maybe I'll come back to creating next Sumer, but it's hard to say since it's so far away.2011-09-26 02:36:00

Im still pondering over it... 2 reasons are: No one to hang out with and no one plays my levels. Since i haven't got that many plays I just stop making level all together. I cant even finish building a level because my motivation is gone...2011-09-27 23:31:00

I know that I won't quit LBP2. Or any game for that matter. Every time I play a game, and enjoy it (and I very much enjoy LBP) my mind develops a nostalgia for it. So I can't quit a game. I'll play other games for awhile, but I still go back to older games, even if it takes a few years. I still dust off KotOR every year or so and play through it for the 100th time. It was a good 7 years or so between the time I started playing Baldur's Gate II and the time I beat it (totally worth going back). Same with Final Fantasy VII and IX. My cousins and I still bust out Halo 2 and all it's outdated-graphics glory.

So no. I won't quit.

I say we clone Ungreth and make the clone work on LBP while the original works on his animations. Or otherwise, whichever way he prefers

ha i don't really know if i will leave lbp1 or lbp2. i hope i will play it forever but that can't happen my moms alway's saying i play it to much and she's gonna throw it in the jungle .i adore that game i can't keep my paws of it and i always stare at it and think about it. i admit i am addicted to it . i play it to when i get up in the morning to when its bedtime at night:star:
since i'm home schooled i don't do alot of homework. i know a good education it important but in my mind lbp is even
MORE important i know its wrong but lbp is a game i can make my dream's come true. i try to take a break once and a while.
and play a different game or read or play with my dog but i say i will take a break 1 day the next i end up playing lbp.
somtime's mom has to pry the controller from my gripping hand's in my dark room by myself playing lbp

1 day i will probably throw it away or pass it down to my kid when i grow up but that will be a long time away:star:

Interesting topic..... I still think this game is amazing, and I constantly have project ideas, but I've been far too busy to work on them. I bought my grandaughter a PS3 1 1/2 years ago for Xmas and LBP1.
Well within a week I was hooked.
So I had to buy another PS3 and LBP just for me.
It has been the only game I have ever played on the PS3 other then looking at a couple of demos.
I don't forsee quiting LBP2 anytime in the next few years, unless LBP3 comes out....

I don't really think I would leave LBP. But the only reason I have if I did want to leave would be because the community is garbage. Not the players themselves, but just the way the system works. It's far too difficult to give every player the attention they probably deserve. You see the crud that gets on the cool pages nowadays, right? Yeah, you do. It's a bit ridiculous how stuff like that gets over a thousand plays. There are great creators out there, but no one sees them. I wouldn't blame them, it's hard to find one right off the bat. Those are people who put real effort into their levels, but quit because it was all for nothing. Even so, I'm not quitting. This game's just too darn fun .2011-11-02 17:43:00

Believe me, this is nothing on the horribly exploitable system that was LBP1, with stuff like stephanie_ravens and what have you. LBP2 is lovely in that respect.

Plus, you just learn to use LBPC to find levels eventually

Hmmm it's a hard to say anything. I dont play many stages but create for myself, but also actively look for interesting levels on the forums. People complaining about the cool pages miss the point a little. I do agree that there should be a better system to recognize great creators, but the idea that people quit being creative because they don't get instant recognition is something I can not sympathize with.

The best bands in the world are vary rarely instant hits, they may seem like they came out of nowhere but it was their persistence that paid off. Create because you want to create. Any recognition that comes from it is a bonus.

I think that a lot of people forget that they need to actually play other stages, a lot of people only create, so that means a lot of people don't play other people's stages. For every hour of create try and spend the same amount of time actually playing...

I bought a PS3 for my grandaughter a year ago last Xmas so coming upon 2 years now.
I bought LBP1 with it and within a couple of weeks had to buy another PS3 and another LBP so I could spend my time creating and playing.
We have been debating getting a third one now too.
I won't be quiting LBP2 any time soon.
Not until LBP3 is out anyway...

ahh, so true. I'm the opposite. I play 5 hours of community levels to 1 hour of create.
