Mushroom Meadows

Archive: 7 posts

This is my very first creation in LittleBigPlanet, called Mushroom Meadows. The idea at the start was to perfectly recreate the first level of Super Mario Bros, but after creating the general "skeleton" of the level, I saw how many people had already done that and decided to scrap the idea and make it the way I wanted. So you'll recognize a lot of the good and old "World 1-1", but everything has a twist to it. All twelve original items I created for the level can be obtained in some way. Any comments, ideas and bug reports are available. I don't know how to take a print screen from the PS3, but if I find out how to, I'll post some here later.

So have fun and try to beat the high score! Comments, ideas, suggestions, critics and bug reports are very appreciated!

This level has a lot of fun gameplay and neat little quirks.

Print Screen: Take a picture of yourself playing the level using the camera tool in the sticker menu. You can upload that to your HDD, then 'port it from there.

I'd recommend taking a picture of the SHELL, then putting THAT on the sign that gives the player the climbing hint.

Further, consider putting a tiny rocket on both sides of the shell. Put a player sensor, turned sideways with a 45-degree field and a very short range, over the rockets. Wire the sensor on the left to the rocket on the left, and do the same for the right. When the player walks up, the shell should scoot away by itself, just like a kicked shell in Mario.

Finally, try putting a bunch of cameras into your level and playing with the view. The camera should, if you can swing it, anticipate the player before he moves, so players don't jump blindly off the screen.

Will add your level to my queue. Once I have played your level I will provide both comments and feedback. If you have time check out my 1st published level (with improvements) it's called the deadly assault course. Both comments and feedback are welcome on the link in my sig.2011-09-10 23:04:00

The best remixed Mario level in LBP I have ever played. The details were so realistic and accurate to the original Mario game, I thought that I wae actually playing Super Mario.:star: This deserves a yay.

Try my level if you like.

Thanks guys! Queued your levels, this weekend I'll give them a try. coyote_blue, I'll also try the shell picture and the cameras. The shell rockets sound a little hard, lots of small pieces in a tight space, but i'll try it as well. It will be very cool if I can make it work!2011-09-13 14:15:00

I think you've got the right idea, seeing what you can build and get away with in LBP1 before you move on to 2. The key will be gluing the rockets on first, then wiring up the sensors, then gluing the sensors exactly where you want them.2011-09-14 14:49:00
