Your thoughts on Update 1.06/Move pack when it comes out

Archive: 28 posts

Well since the move pack just came out, what do you like about it. and what don't you like about it? This includes the update such as speed sensor.

I like the new slice and dice tool. So much easier too make designs!

While I don't own it, I love how it's looking so far. Slice n' dice is ever so useful, getting to play your purchased level packs is now hassle free, some additions to the filter, new backgrounds and costumes too. Gawd, I'm jealous over anyone with a move now.

The only drawback is that my sackperson keeps looking up whenever I open popit or press start. What am I looking at up there that's so intriguing?! I just hope it's fixed, it really urks me.

What! You've got it already?

I'm still waiting on a price. $9.99 USD or less and I'm buying, but I also don't have Move. Just for the materials, music tracks and other tools though... it's probably worth it.

The pack is not out until next week.
the OP did one of the following two things IMO.
1: mistook the new update thinking the pack would have came with it at the same time.
2: he misworded this topic and was meaning to talk about the most new patch.

I did the same thing when I saw the tutorials there, and the first one played. I thought "wow, it came out early". There's even a demo level. There's a placeholder in the store now too. It's easy to assume that it has been released.

I don't care for the play controls so far. It's not that they are bad, but they are just a little cumbersome. I suppose once we see more support the gameplay will make more sense, or maybe it's more difficult to use because I don't have the navigation controller yet.

Wow, Mm made it convincing that the Move had come out with the tutorials for stuff we don't own. Totally fooled me.

Well 1.06 is looking good anyhow. Lotsa new tools to play around with:

Free new tools and functionality, accompanying a large-size paid DLC? Absolutely wonderful. Speaks volumes for Media Molecule.

Was a little skeptical about Move functionality before, but I think I'll give it a go now. I'll still have the DS3 as my main choice of control, but I will be using the Move where nessecary/suitable.

Don't you need a Move to be able to access the Cakeling levels to get the materials/music/etc as prizes?

I happy with the new tools and functions in 1.06. Although I don't think the angle and rotation sensors will be too useful, its still always nice to have them. Matter of fact some of the additions could be made with current materials and sensors but having them as separate sensors makes it a whole lot easier The actor name thing is pretty cool and can avoid any sort of confusion when there is a bunch of dialogue in a level.

Oh and did anybody consider this use of the slice and dice tool? It will allow us to make "complicated objects" a little less complicated and save a bit of thermo

What I am very curious about is the local space fix on cameras.. If they are fixing it the way I'm hoping then it means that it will be very easy to make first and third person games. Yes it will mess up the current versions of some made with the old method which sucks but I think its great that the 3D cam will be easier to emulate with a normal camera.

I'm pretty happy with 1.06 and cant wait for the Move pack! .. except getting just 1 move and the PS3 eye is 100 USD That's probably why the pack will end up being 9.99 USD or 5.99 USD.

Well I just cant wait for move! It looks so amazing! Plus now you can use the move recorder too make cool movement like a boss attack, a bird flying, or even a door opening! Are you kidding me? Angle and rotation sensors would be TOO useful! Well thats all for now BYE! 2011-09-08 22:21:00

My thoughts.... Well....

PS STORE, WHY YOU NO LET MEH BUY?!?!

The demo level really showed off the sticker panel, it looks insane. I'm looking forward to it. Already have money in the store waiting to buy it.

I'm kinda disappointed for the sticker panel having to be on the Move Pack. It seems useful stuff and it has nothing to do with the Move. So those who don't have the Move or the Move pack can't get it and use it for their Move-unrelated shenanigans

Maybe an alternate way of purchasing it would be nice. Just like you can buy costumes in packs or separately.

You dont have to buy move for move pack actually there will be only 3 things that wont work, brain crain can be used without move via sackbot

It seems like they are encouraging the use of the "paint" tool with the sticker panel material. Does anyone know if its posible to use the popit cursor to paint or is it exclusive to the move only?

I'm really excited for this pack! I've already got a level made and ready to publish after a few tweaks with the moveinator and sticker panels

At first I thought that the DS3 in one hand and move in the other would be awkward, but it's actually pretty easy for me to use. I also like how MM made the right stick with the controllinator compatible with the move, which makes a lot of things easier.

Hmm, does anyone know what the new instruments are? OR will we just have to wait and see.
Because honestly, that's all I really care about, and the costumes.

That's just horrible that the sticker tool is for Move owners only. I hate that they split the community of creators into sections like that. Sticker tools shouldn't be exclusive like a power up (paint gun).

But yeah, very annoying that I have to break out the Move anytime I want to edit stickers.

Yeah... before it wasn't much of a problem when we bought new features with level kits. We saw it more as "buying the Paintinator/Water" while the themed levels and prizes came as a bonus of that purchase than the other way around. This will be the move pack though, with the sticker editor being move exclusive. Bummer.
