Does the sticker panel material come with 1.06 or the pack? | 2011-09-06 21:38:00 Author: Doopz Posts: 5592 |
Does the sticker panel material come with 1.06 or the pack? Nope, it's on move pack | 2011-09-06 22:06:00 Author: Shadowriver Posts: 3991 |
Nope, it's on move pack Baww, i need that material really bad. And, i cant stay up and wait, for the update. =( | 2011-09-06 22:29:00 Author: StaticLinuxpro Posts: 482 |
The move stuff should be good but that sticker material is just amazing! Some very impressive scenery can easily be made. | 2011-09-06 22:38:00 Author: Jedi_1993 Posts: 1518 |
well.... if you think about it. The move pack is "in" the update (as with all dlc's: the update has the dlc, the download has the unlock key) ergo: the update has the sticker panel. But shadow is right. You still have to pay | 2011-09-06 22:50:00 Author: a_mailbox Posts: 416 |
Now live @ 568MB. Must've been midnight GMT not midnight BST. Edit: Changes... DLC levels now accessible from "More Stories" button to the left of "Story" button. New Cool Levels filter options. Move Pack pins/trophies added. Move Pack tutorials added, although some require Move Pack to play. Slice 'N Dice tool added. Speed/rotation/angle sensors added. New tweak options for: Bounce Pad, Score Giver, Water projectiles, Magic Mouth. Triplet Mode toggle (down on D-pad) on Music Sequencer Anyone found any more? | 2011-09-07 01:21:00 Author: Aya042 Posts: 2870 |
Lots of new tutorials (9) and a nice chat with Steven Fry when you pop in your pod the first time. Big download too. | 2011-09-07 01:49:00 Author: Morgana25 Posts: 5983 |

new level, I hearted the level you can see it on my hearted list, & I put it in a level link but it's locked in play mode 8^( Also with the level hearted I aquired MM's earth, it's pretty 8^) | 2011-09-07 02:29:00 Author: lve_msg Posts: 408 |
I am just livid over this update. 568 mb is just dang flabbin big! I seriously don't know if I can do it. My system says it'll be a 5 hr download. Are you freaking kidding me!? News flash game companies, not everyone has super duper high speed internet. At least give me the flippin' option to do this. I probably won't be getting the move pack but yet I HAVE to download this brick of a download. Thanks. I am extremely frustrated right now. Why can't we have the option to download via PC, then I could do it at work where I have a super duper high speed connection, or how about an option to buy an update disc. I am really not happy. I may not be even to play it online anymore. Thanks MM. I'm going to stop before I start speaking some "French" words. | 2011-09-07 02:38:00 Author: biorogue Posts: 8424 |
It shows the Move pack in the store, but we can't buy it. Mm is teasing us. | 2011-09-07 02:40:00 Author: lemurboy12 Posts: 842 |
T-R-IPL-ETS...Nice! (To be sung ad nauseum in the style of the Bay City Rollers "Saturday Night", preferably by Mike Myers as the Scottish father from So I Married An Axe Murderer) Did I mention I am happy about triplets? | 2011-09-07 02:40:00 Author: schm0 Posts: 1239 |
Because of how my internet has a odd download limit of 500 MBs while it's daytime... (Hughesnet is almost the worse net ever!) so I'm gonna have to wait until 2 AM when my download limit is limitless to get this... and being it's 560 whatever MBs... gonna take me 2 hours to download... Hello! The move update (1.06) was released just 30 minutes ago, and I went through a couple story levels to see if anything has changed. There were stuff that changes if you're using the move controller instead of the AXIS controller! First of all, besides of having additional speech for the curators, the R1 stickers change to T stickers! http://i8.lbp.me/img/ft/7c89ec26e55fa215ef6de86a40a73c8f8bed1448.jpg This first image was in the 2nd level in Da Vinci, the second photo is too http://ia.lbp.me/img/ft/e3a4d024fb575fe7f9fc12924f9023b42c4d423e.jpg Now, this third one is in the first level where you get the grabinators http://i5.lbp.me/img/ft/b8587ccd9af4c21675dd00ac86d2d06aaa067025.jpg Now, If anyone has seen any changes with the move in story levels, post them here | 2011-09-07 02:51:00 Author: TheUltraDeino Posts: 1274 |
I made a level with the level link to MM's new level & give as prize(it's locked in playmode so useless) but still. here (http://lbp.me/v/54dmm4) | 2011-09-07 02:51:00 Author: lve_msg Posts: 408 |
What the "he'll" is a triplet? | 2011-09-07 03:19:00 Author: Unknown User |
Had a good 2hours playing with the new stuff, Wanted to give everyone a heads up. 3D camera glitch STILL WORKS (i was down when i heard it was going to be patched in 1.06) Current DLC sharing glitch still works....Just when i was about to go "IN YOUR FACE" to all the noobs harrasing me Haven't tried to see if there are any traces of overlord. You can still load a level when you don't meet the level requirments (it just displays a message at the start saying its recommended to have X amount of players with an option to go in anyway) Water settings ROCKS No luck on figuring out the new secret pins, none are related to rare dlc (except bug blaster which i don't have) Some interesting effects when using the new local space setting, i think you can create a 3D camera setting without having to glitch it. | 2011-09-07 03:25:00 Author: JKthree Posts: 1125 |
Triplets. That is all. | 2011-09-07 03:36:00 Author: TheJollyRajah Posts: 466 |
Downloading now can't wait. Worse timing though i only just figured out how to record my levels and upload them on youtube. Just loged on to try to record another one with different settings to stop sound lag and wack a 568 MB update. I am so happy yet at the same time so annoyed. looks like i better go do something while i wait. suppose ts worth it though | 2011-09-07 03:37:00 Author: Lordwarblade Posts: 761 |
I made demo level of new features also how to use multipliers in effective way http://lbp.me/v/54f344 | 2011-09-07 03:52:00 Author: Shadowriver Posts: 3991 |

One of the new Move pins is a reference to Rebecca Black, I am not joking. Oh Mm you are having a laugh I just know it. The "Gotta get down on Friday" pin if you don't know what I mean. I can't help but laugh at this. | 2011-09-07 04:12:00 Author: siberian_ninja15 Posts: 444 |
Does anyone know why we cant buy the move pack. Or do we have to own hte move to use it. lol | 2011-09-07 04:16:00 Author: fighterwindplus Posts: 403 |
Some preliminary stuff I noticed: The unicode symbols (http://wiki.lbpcentral.com/Community:Text_symbols) have been modified. The glyphs that were L3 and R3 buttons (E00C and E00D) are now used for move functions. No doubt there are more that will be found pretty quickly. And yes, local space cameras are fixed, but the effect looks freaky if the camera is mounted on the top of an object. I also predict 3d effects without having to glitch them. | 2011-09-07 04:21:00 Author: Dr C Posts: 122 |
Not sure if this is new or not, but there's a "Sticker Template" option when you go to choose the shape and material of a new object. Why exactly did they have to make this update so huge? I know it's the biggest ever for LBP2 when it comes to content, but why over 500mb? That is so much more than any of the other packs. Now I probably won't be able to get it or play online again... | 2011-09-07 06:55:00 Author: Reef1978 Posts: 527 |
Did I mention I am happy about triplets? Did I mention that I'm happy that you're happy... Big download though. I'm sure that it's a big barrier for a lot of people, luckily I'm not one of them 30mbps fiberoptic should help. But it does give me pause, it's a lot of Internet juice slurped down in one go. But there isn't really an option, you need to get the content even if you don't plan on getting the move pack, because others can put the stuff into a non-move level. All the timing for triplets and how the physics has to deal with the new sensors has the potential of changing a lot of code I guess. | 2011-09-07 07:39:00 Author: Mr_Fusion Posts: 1799 |
As soon as I get home from school im downloading this. Or I could start it now and come home to see it still has 2 hours to go. Kidding but this is indeed an interesting update. | 2011-09-07 07:49:00 Author: craigmond Posts: 2426 |
I noticed now... For some reason while you have the game paused while in create mode. idle sackbots look at to the sky above~ xD *mew | 2011-09-07 08:35:00 Author: Lord-Dreamerz Posts: 4261 |

That slice tool is possibly the best thing since sliced bread. And I bet it would make a good job of slicing bread too! | 2011-09-07 10:07:00 Author: rialrees Posts: 1015 |
Having to download 568 MB is one of the most painful experiences I have ever had due to my awful connection. While I got through okay, I wish they would have split up the files so that if I had suddenly lost my connection, I wouldn't have had to start all over again and could just start on whatever file I was on. | 2011-09-07 10:32:00 Author: Det Posts: 37 |
Cool! Do you know anything else the curators say, I'm just waiting for the update to load now! Nothing much really, just updates to the speeches they already said, like "Press R1 to hold onto grab-able material" to "Press R1 or T to hold onto grab-able material" | 2011-09-07 10:49:00 Author: TheUltraDeino Posts: 1274 |

Ok. So this Patch looks really fun. Yet after so many tries, I keep getting errors whenever I download it. I decided that before School this morning that I would move it closer to the router to see if the download speed would raise and the error reports would stop with it. Im downloading it atm, and its gotten up to 52% with 7 Minutes to go. My Confidence is raising immensely, but I shouldnt get my hopes up yet. EDIT: The download completed! Yay! Now I can check out the latest stuff in the Patch | 2011-09-07 12:07:00 Author: Xshaemus Posts: 60 |
I've been using the speed sensor for my Kirby level and deleted the old sprite logic, and it works better than ever! | 2011-09-07 12:19:00 Author: lemurboy12 Posts: 842 |
You should now be able to suggest how many players your level is best suited for. It should be in the tools bag in the game tweaking section. It does bot limit the number of players but will warn people if a group of sack folk enter a lvl designed for 1 player. | 2011-09-07 13:02:00 Author: Unknown User |

It's a -free- update that provides not only fixes for bugs, but new content for creators. The MOVE Pack DLC is just a plus. It would cost money to them to provide these things on disk while they are charging nothing for it As for the download from a PC, that's a good idea, but eh D: what can you do, just leave it downloading while you're heading to bed, or to work You'll feel much better once the update is finally installed in your PS3 | 2011-09-07 13:25:00 Author: MonarioBabii Posts: 128 |
The bug where the Plasma, Fire and Electricity hazards were absent from the tool bag has now been fixed. Also, the end of the tools bag has been split up into "Gameplay Controls" and "Global Controls". The update took me 15 minutes. | 2011-09-07 15:03:00 Author: Rhys125 Posts: 841 |
Nobody has mentioned the camera shake options on the GAME camera yet, which is probably my favorite new gameplay feature. It's different from the movie camera shake, so huzzah! | 2011-09-07 15:17:00 Author: comphermc Posts: 5338 |
Nobody has mentioned the camera shake options on the GAME camera yet, which is probably my favorite new gameplay feature. It's different from the movie camera shake, so huzzah! Great! I was wondering why this wasn't an option before. Anyhow, had some issues with this update. 1) All my hearted objects no longer appear in my hearted section (even new ones), only decorations 2) Possible to load incorrect profile....?! Lordwarblade join me and it loaded his other accounts profile. Very strange Still a great update though. Going to test everything out once I get home. | 2011-09-07 15:26:00 Author: SSTAGG1 Posts: 1136 |
I noticed now... For some reason while you have the game paused while in create mode. idle sackbots look at to the sky above~ xD *mew That's actually the only issue I'm having with this update so far, and it's really only just a nit-picky visual detail that bothers me. It's not just sackbots either; your sackcharacter will always be looking upward whether you pause the game or open your Pop-It (s/he will still look up even when zoomed in while selecting costumes). It just looks so strange to me for them to do that! O.o That slice tool is possibly the best thing since sliced bread. I fully agree! That tool will seriously be helpful for the artwork I'm planning on creating in the future! Now I'm just waiting to see the possibilities of the Paint tool coming with the Move Pack! 8o | 2011-09-07 15:30:00 Author: Qrii_Nakari Posts: 204 |
I'm not sure if im the only one, but at the "nearly there" section of the pins menu, I see two new pins: "Gotta get down on Friday" Play a motion controller enabled level on friday. "Great moves" Use the motion controller to record a path in create mode. | 2011-09-07 16:02:00 Author: thieso31 Posts: 31 |
two more things nobody seem to have noticed yet. *mew 1: invisible DCS made no sound when when you enter them. 2: all sounds in the Robot sounds are back~ | 2011-09-07 16:36:00 Author: Lord-Dreamerz Posts: 4261 |
Has anyone else noticed how story mode has been modified for the Move controller too. I played the levels in Davinci's Hideout (first area) and noticed a bunch of the stickers on grabbable objects that were R1, are now the T button. I wonder if this is the sticker panel, or just hard coding. I hope it's the sticker panel though | 2011-09-07 16:43:00 Author: maddoggnick96 Posts: 272 |
thanks for this demonstration! Here is the video of this level: I updated a level a little bit ;] there new shake tweak for game camera and also added demos of sensors | 2011-09-07 16:49:00 Author: Shadowriver Posts: 3991 |
The update is precisely 567.07 MB - probably the biggest ever LBP (1 or 2) update, right? | 2011-09-07 17:03:00 Author: alexbull_uk Posts: 1287 |
Why can't we have the option to download via PC, then I could do it at work where I have a super duper high speed connection... Might be possible. I managed to glean the URL for the UK version of the last patch using a packet sniffer, and if I'd put the resulting PKG file on a USB stick, it might've been possible to run it on the PS3, but I didn't test it. Someone else might be able to tell you the correct URL for the NA version of the 1.06 patch, but it's not something I can do. The update is precisely 567.07 MB - probably the biggest ever LBP (1 or 2) update, right? According to Mike's handy guide (http://forums.littlebigworkshop.com/t5/General-Discussion/LBP-PS3-Patch-Details/td-p/132714), the largest LBP1 patch was 1.22 (Danish Blue a.k.a. the PotC patch) at 110 MB, and the LBP Wiki states (http://wiki.lbpcentral.com/LittleBigPlanet_2_Game_updates) that the largest LBP2 patch prior to 1.06 was 1.05 (a.k.a. the Toy Story patch), at 92.30 MB, so... yes. Although if you include LBP2 beta patches, patch 1.02 was 1.14 GB. | 2011-09-07 17:34:00 Author: Aya042 Posts: 2870 |

I'm going to try downloading again tonight but will probably disconnect before it finishes. I wonder if a couple of months down the line, if the retail version of LBP2 will already have the update. That's how I update my PSP, just getting newer games. Nah, that was a stupid idea. Bad Biorogue, Bad. | 2011-09-07 17:50:00 Author: biorogue Posts: 8424 |
Maybe I'm missing something but my hearted page seems messed up. I think it only lists story objects/stickers I had hearted. Everything else, while it does retain a heart icon next to it my objects, does not appear in the list. Very irritating :/ | 2011-09-07 18:28:00 Author: OneEyedBanshee Posts: 1370 |
I can already name one gripe: They've added an unskippable caution/instruction screen for the Move at the beginning, even if you don't have one. | 2011-09-07 18:29:00 Author: Behonkiss Posts: 229 |
DLC levels now accessible from "More Stories" button to the left of "Story" button. Anyone else see this (in-game, I mean!) and think OMG, *new MM levels* o.O .... just me? :/ Wheres my scoreboards at? ^_^; | 2011-09-07 18:29:00 Author: Masseyf Posts: 226 |
We just did the update and my daughter found she could not edit one of her levels. Before the patch she and a friend created a level. He put a sackbot, in a costume she doesn't have, in the level. Now, after the update, she can't edit the level. Looks like she'll have to delete it unless someone can tell us a way that she can edit the level to delete the sackbot. Any suggestions? I can't check it out on my ps3 yet cuz I still have 40 mins. for the update. | 2011-09-07 18:49:00 Author: Lady_Luck__777 Posts: 3458 |

She'll have to send the level to someone who does own that DLC(and any other DLC in the level) so they can enter the level and remove the offending item. Then it can be sent back, but obviously it needs to be sent to someone trustworthy. And by sent I mean published locked and copyable/ send the key. It could also be emailed though. | 2011-09-07 18:54:00 Author: OneEyedBanshee Posts: 1370 |
Not sure if this is new or not, but there's a "Sticker Template" option when you go to choose the shape and material of a new object. The creator scoreboards also have a level link option that looks new... Both have been there since launch. | 2011-09-07 18:58:00 Author: lemurboy12 Posts: 842 |
Am I the only one having freezing issues after installing the patch? At the very beginning when it says "Loading" it hangs the whole system. I tried removing Game Data and reinstalling and redownloading the patches but it didn't help. | 2011-09-07 19:44:00 Author: tundra Posts: 1 |
I wonder if a couple of months down the line, if the retail version of LBP2 will already have the update. Not sure if you're joking or not, but games generally don't get 'reprinted' - all retail copies of LBP2 will be v1.00. The LBP1 GotY edition was pre-patched to v1.18, though (IIRC), so maybe if LBP2 gets a GotY edition? | 2011-09-07 19:52:00 Author: Aya042 Posts: 2870 |
Grr, it takes so long to download. I was just about to finish, and then I get signed out for some reason and it stops. I have to share, so I had to hand the PS3 over. FRUSTRATION. Oh well, I can wait | 2011-09-07 19:54:00 Author: Sackpapoi Posts: 1195 |
Am I the only one having freezing issues after installing the patch? At the very beginning when it says "Loading" it hangs the whole system. You know, I was expecting them to fix the randomizer. When will they do it? | 2011-09-07 20:37:00 Author: lemurboy12 Posts: 842 |
Last night when I quit the game, it restarted my PS3. Haven't had time to check, hope nothing got messed up on my profile! Same thing just happened to me. I hadn't even done anything in the game, just started it, spawned in pod, then decided to quit so I could download the free DLC costume which just came out. Result == triple beep and crash. Fortunately, my profile remained intact, but it's kinda worrying. I guess it's back to "make profile backup every day" mode for me. | 2011-09-07 20:45:00 Author: Aya042 Posts: 2870 |
I can already name one gripe: They've added an unskippable caution/instruction screen for the Move at the beginning, even if you don't have one. It's the future, embrace it. | 2011-09-07 20:52:00 Author: julesyjules Posts: 1156 |
It's much better, but I'm still having trouble with the local space on the game camera. | 2011-09-07 20:57:00 Author: GhostViper Posts: 110 |
Not sure if you're joking or not, but games generally don't get 'reprinted' - all retail copies of LBP2 will be v1.00. The LBP1 GotY edition was pre-patched to v1.18, though (IIRC), so maybe if LBP2 gets a GotY edition? I was serious as I was typing it, then I read what I typed and went, "you goof" so yeah, if I can't get his dwnload to happen then hopefully a GOTY edition will drop soon and I can get it that way. Wow, is anyone NOT having problems with this update? | 2011-09-07 21:05:00 Author: biorogue Posts: 8424 |

Yeah, I wouldn't be terribly behind if lost stuff, but as soon as it happened I could have slapped myself for not doing a backup. 570 megs? In a game like LBP, a big update means a big potential for new bugs. Um sure its only a matter of time before we start seeing new glitches emerge. Should be a very interesting few weeks/months as everyone begins to dive into the tools. I'm with you, backups will be done quite often over the next few weeks. | 2011-09-07 21:08:00 Author: CYMBOL Posts: 1230 |

No you're not the only one. I managed to get it to work OK but my daughter has the same problem as you. Please can anybody help us solve the problem It's kinda a tall order given the closed nature of the code, but I'd speculate it's an incompatibility between the profile and the new code. The following might fix it, but I take no responsibility if this doesn't work, and/or makes anything worse... If you have a recent profile backup which you're prepared to import from, and lose anything you've done since, go to step 8. From the XMB, go to Game Data, and locate the "LittleBigPlanet 2" patch data file - it'll be the largest one, and pressing triangle, then choosing "Information" should display "Version 1.06". Delete this file. Now start up LBP2, and it'll say it wants to update to version 1.06, so let it do so. If it says "Downloading 1 of 1", then 1.06 is a patch rollup (i.e. a composite of all previous patches) in which case you're stuck, but if it says "Downloading 1 of 6", then allow it to download everything until it begins to download patch 1.06, i.e. when it says "Downloading 6/6", and cancel the update. Restart the game at patch level 1.05, and don't update to 1.06, and hopefully, you'll managed to spawn in your pod, and everything will be as you remember it. If not, you're stuck. Now make a profile backup, and quit the game. From the XMB, go to Game Data, and delete your profile. It'll be called something like "(your name) LittleBigPlanet 2 Profile". Start up LBP2 again, and let it patch up to version 1.06, if necessary. Import your profile backup. If there are multiple profiles on the system which have issues loading in 1.06, you'll have to do backups for all of them. TBH, if this is a common problem, MM might push out an emergency patch shortly, so you might instead prefer to wait for that. Either way, I'd suggest reporting the problem on getsatisfaction (http://getsatisfaction.com/littlebigplanet) ASAP, which is the closest thing they have to a technical support system. | 2011-09-07 21:46:00 Author: Aya042 Posts: 2870 |
Probably the wrong thread - but do we need the Move to play the Move levels? =) | 2011-09-07 21:51:00 Author: standby250 Posts: 1113 |
I can already name one gripe: They've added an unskippable caution/instruction screen for the Move at the beginning, even if you don't have one. This only seems to happen the first time you start the game after installing the patch. Didn't see it when I restarted the game. I just powered down. Can anyone confirm that there are new Magic Mouth voices in the update? Yep. Just noticed the material tweaker now has an option to grab by player or move cursor. I just powered down. Can anyone confirm that there are new Magic Mouth voices in the update? I believe the new magic mouth voices are out. I played a level, a couple hours ago, that showcased all the voices. Most of them are new sackbot voices, and then there is a cakeling voice. | 2011-09-07 22:17:00 Author: Tileno Posts: 81 |
Oh btw guys they finally implemented unspawned player sensing tweak... after like 8 updates since LBP2 beta lol I just powered down. Can anyone confirm that there are new Magic Mouth voices in the update? Yes ^^ few new sackbot voices Probably the wrong thread - but do we need the Move to play the Move levels? =) You will be able to run the level without Move, but to be able to play it depends on how level will be made, it's possible to make hybrid controls | 2011-09-07 22:21:00 Author: Shadowriver Posts: 3991 |
Oh btw guys they finally implemented unspawned player sensing tweak... What's that? | 2011-09-07 22:32:00 Author: MonarioBabii Posts: 128 |
I just noticed they updated the Cool Pages filter. There's new labels, like Retro, and stuff using the move. There's also a maximum player filter and Autofilter. | 2011-09-07 22:51:00 Author: lemurboy12 Posts: 842 |
What's that? Extra tweak for player sensor which allow to detect number of players in the level without spawning them from checkpoint, very useful tweak for movie makers, they can emit sackbots for extra players. It was announce on 1.03 LBP2 Beta update but never been seen... unit now in fact to be more funny they actually used that tweak on story mode cut-scenes, but never give it out to players I just noticed they updated the Cool Pages filter. There's new labels, like Retro, and stuff using the move. There's also a maximum player filter and Autofilter. Yea auto filters are cool, sets number of players filtter and move level filters autoamticly depending on how players you got and if oyu got move or not. By defult all levels are et to 1-4 so we see them all but if you set lower then 4 level wont show until you set filter right. | 2011-09-07 22:55:00 Author: Shadowriver Posts: 3991 |
I noticed I now have to press down on the L3 button everytime to make Sackboy look at the screen while changing costumes in Create (or any place else). Why is that? Because he is constantly looking up when I change costumes normally. A minor annoyance but not too bad. | 2011-09-07 23:01:00 Author: siberian_ninja15 Posts: 444 |

It's a real shame you can't pop the update pkg on a USB drive. Mine took about 1.5hrs to download the update Ah well, I've got it now. I was mildly disappointed that the game tells you to go play the tutorials only to strike you down at the last moment and tell you to buy the pack first lol xD | 2011-09-07 23:53:00 Author: alexbull_uk Posts: 1287 |
Exciting! Got to say though it's a bit backwards in that it asks you if you want to purchase the Move Pack after the first 4 tutorials, then takes you to the store, yet you cannot buy it. For people who don't follow any Internet forums I'd imagine this will confuse them. Of course I knew I couldn't download it yet as I'd seen others mention it here, but if I hadn't I would most surely think it was a glitch. Also, is there a way to mimic the L1 and L2 buttons on the motion controller? I couldn't work out a way to fast scroll or switch tabs within the popit as those two buttons don't exist! It was pretty inconvenient. Can't wait to get my hands on the Move Pack though, even just playing the short intro level showing the sticker panel in use has got me mega psyched. | 2011-09-08 00:18:00 Author: Xaif Posts: 365 |

Yeah, I certainly think that if I'd not already known the release date, I would've been very confused that the game's telling me to purchase something that doesn't exist! That's why I assumed that you could just play all the tutorials first, but you wouldn't earn any prizes from it. | 2011-09-08 01:13:00 Author: alexbull_uk Posts: 1287 |
Horray! I was going to post this last night ( had found out within the hour it went up, luck me!), but I forogt in the anticipation of waiting at that download screen waiting for what was going to happen , so yeah you beat me to it. I thought that the slice tool and angle sensor etc. were included in the move PAck, not the update, I'll have to check those out tonight. | 2011-09-08 01:57:00 Author: Ricky-III Posts: 732 |

It's a real shame you can't pop the update pkg on a USB drive. Mine took about 1.5hrs to download the update 1 1/2 hours, pfffft, lucky you. Mine took 5 1/2 hours to download! I was able to get it after all so I guess the LBP addiction will continue a little while longer. I briefly messed around with it last night and have to say the slice n dice tool is wicked awesome! I really like that. I'm disappointed that my sackboy throws his head back like he has a broken neck, every time I open the popit. The only problem I've had so far with this update is that my game lags when I go through my stickers page, which it didn't use to, and I had the same number of stickers. I guess I'm pretty lucky :o but is anyone else having that issue? | 2011-09-08 20:07:00 Author: MonarioBabii Posts: 128 |
Clay pointed out another bugfix last night in OC. When you're moving a group of components around on a Microchip, Circuit Nodes would move in a different way to other components, and go out of alignment. Well, not any more. | 2011-09-08 20:13:00 Author: Aya042 Posts: 2870 |

This actually came with the previous update afaik, could have been earlier. I just know that it was fixed before 1.06. Not that it matters of course . I'm very happy with the new tools, but it definitely sounds like several people are encountering issues with this. For me: This happens every single time I have quit, ever since I got LBP 2. It's nothing serous. This used to happen in the beta...which is why I pretty much ignored the beta. I find it pretty disturbing and won't be playing LBP2 until this issue is addressed. The weird thing is I was fine initially after the update (exited cleanly 3 times), but now it seems to happen every time I quit. Oh well, there's always LBP Vita and a new hopefully better development house to look forward to. I'll bet LBP Vita will even have scoreboards!!! | 2011-09-08 20:51:00 Author: fullofwin Posts: 1214 |

if your PS3 does the three beep restart just quit into the PS Store. Press PS button Click on PS Store Asks if you want to quit click yes & you should be fine. Gonna say mine Triplets at 1/8 is a really big disappointment. Big... DISAPPOINTMENT. I will wait the Move Pack to check everything since I'm too lazy to do it now... Also... Strange, since the update my PS3 has been hard resetting, turns off then starts up again everytime I quit LBP2 since the update too. Done it 2 or 3 times now. It's also increased the thermo in my level. | 2011-09-09 10:41:00 Author: LittleBigDes Posts: 920 |

I too have since had the triple beep shutdown when quitting the game. Fortunately it has only happened once so far and didn't affect the progress I had made on the level I was working on. Then again that may have been due to the fact that I had backed-up the level about ten minutes prior. Edit: worth noting is that somebody has managed to pull some of the "painted" stickers from the move intro level. They're really nice, just some simple scribbles representing grass and a painting of a watermill. | 2011-09-09 13:04:00 Author: croissantbuncake Posts: 572 |

IM REALLY ANGRY AGAIN THIS PATCH 1.06 -The PS3 reboot when you leave the game... -The subtitles of a Magic Mouth (one-shot mode) on a Sequencer stay d?finitively... -Sounds do not work properly with the musical sequencer... -The problem with scores remain unresolved... -Level Link in multi not resolved too... -I'll probably find out more.... That is the impression they give. Bugs since Beta LB2 have not been corrected. For them, the priorities are to DLC | 2011-09-09 14:40:00 Author: mish80 Posts: 65 |
Well I'm not sure this will 100% work but when we got the freezing upon quitting in the LBP2 BETA there was a way to avoid it. This is my personal take on it anyway, press the PS button when you want to quit, preferably in pod and no loading icons. Then navigate to the "What's New" option in one of the tabs. It's in the same tab as the PSstore. Upon clicking that my ps3 does a similar motion to quitting the game only with no freezing. Only tried it twice now mind you but it worked both times and dozens of times on the BETA. | 2011-09-09 15:10:00 Author: OneEyedBanshee Posts: 1370 |
I had the restart issue once, then not again, so, I'm trying to figure out what I did differently. Either way, back up your profiles! Then, hide your children, hide your wife, PS3's be crashin' up in here! | 2011-09-09 16:49:00 Author: CYMBOL Posts: 1230 |
Am I like one of the only ones who as of yet have not been having any problems with this patch? xD and to add to that I almost never have any abnormal problems from the patches. *mew PS: My PS3 has always at rare times freeze when turning off LBP. I never saw it as a abnormal bug. just a bug PS3 had in general. As my Ps3 will randomly do it on anygame, sometimes even when I'm leaving the PSN store. but Like I said, It's rare. and I just put it off as how all computers systems have at least rare freezing problems. Triplets at 1/8 is a really big disappointment. How so? They seem to work fine for me. Navcon/Dual Shock + Move + Keyboard + Eventual Headset = WTF! I'm not an Octopus :kz: Add my bad habit of smoking while playing and the damage is served. That's clearly God's way of telling you to quit smoking. | 2011-09-09 18:18:00 Author: Aya042 Posts: 2870 |
Am I like one of the only ones who as of yet have not been having any problems with this patch? xD and to add to that I almost never have any abnormal problems from the patches. *mew PS: My PS3 has always at rare times freeze when turning off LBP. There is an issue with the Slice 'N' Dice tool where is you cut from a material that has other materials embedded in it, some of the embedded materials disappear. This happened to me and had to re-do parts of my level. | 2011-09-09 18:54:00 Author: craigmond Posts: 2426 |

Interesting. I got an invite from a person I don't know, and was busy, so I didn't even check it. Of course, usually invites build up in your inbox, and you have to go delete them. But when I went to check the invite, it wasn't there! I wonder if invites are now an immediate accept or not, and no longer sit in your inbox. Anyone else noticed if this is the case? | 2011-09-10 01:24:00 Author: CYMBOL Posts: 1230 |

That is new... in LBP2. It's the sticker cutout tool. I just checked, there is a "sticker template" tool, along with a "sticker cutter" tool, did they just change the name of one, or is it actually a new tool? | 2011-09-10 03:41:00 Author: sp0ngyraver Posts: 407 |
Not sure if this came with 1.06 or if it's been like this since the game first shipped, but all of the logic in some of the tutorial levels is visible and I can press down to fly. I don't remember being able to fly when I first when through them, and visible logic seems to be happening only on some of the tutorial levels which makes me think it's a bug. *Edit Just reloaded the tutorial (Placing and Editing Objects) and the logic was invisible. Doing this again yielded the same result. Definitely a bug then. | 2011-09-10 04:17:00 Author: Unknown User |

Oh yeah. My PS3 is not a slim~ it's a fat... guess that could be the reason I'm not getting as many problems as some people? And yes... Why do we get that bloody annoying Move warning screen every time we boot up the game? >:'0 *mew I'm pretty sure EVERY game that even has move capability HAS to show that, just like McDonalds HAS to out VERY HOT on all their coffee cups, because some stupid person will always get hurt and try to sue for millions. So it's easier for them to just annoy everyone who doesn't have move than risk paying out millions to one stupid kid who does. It's for the few, not the many. And just to add my info to the bug report we've got going on here, I am using a launch 60GB PS3, this problem HAS happened to me a few times upon quitting to XMB since I got 1.06 (I don't think it has when using "turn off system" from in-game) but it doesn't happen EVERY time like some ppl here have mentioned. It should be noted that my PS3 is very prone to freezing more often than others when playing games like Fallout: NV and Red Dead Redemption (both are known to freeze a lot but mine does it more than usual), and has even frozen once or twice playing LBP2. Whenever this type of freeze happens, I have to force shut down my ps3, which will then cause a single beep as if shutting down normal, then I get the triple beeps. It seems that's what the ps3 does in cases of error, perhaps the problems could all be related to a fault in the ps3 firmware, perhaps something that could be fixed for many games in one update? | 2011-09-10 06:02:00 Author: sp0ngyraver Posts: 407 |
Same here. It takes about one hour for me though. Unfortunately, it says "error" at about thirty percent and stops the download. I can't go online now. It's making me mad . And it decided to malfunction in the middle of the LBPC contest. Oh, and when I have to review four levels. Whoop-de-doo. I really hope someone comes up with a solution. | 2011-09-10 08:32:00 Author: Sackpapoi Posts: 1195 |

I hsvrn't run into any major issues yet. A bit of lag in the menus, but no shut downs or anything. I did run into a weird glitch though; when I started the game up a second time, I registered my Navigator to the game and it asked me who to assign it to. I told it to replace the wireless as the support controller...and after that menu went, an evil clone of me appeared with just the basic Sackboy skin (literally, when I press the L2 to see player names, the game calls it Pur-Rulz's Evil Twin). Now he's just sorta standing there, doing nowt...meep. D: | 2011-09-10 14:18:00 Author: Vector-Espio-Fan Posts: 119 |
So, is this the creator pack, or is that still on the horizon? I really don't get why MM is so secretive now. It's a couple of days away, and we still don't know the price of the Move pack. And that whole vague "something awesome is coming", I just don't get their marketing these days. I'm so confused. | 2011-09-10 18:11:00 Author: CYMBOL Posts: 1230 |
So, is this the creator pack, or is that still on the horizon? This is the so-called creator pack. The developers probably realize that the first creator pack should have been automatically added in a patch as well. Imagine how many people must have asked how to make infinite checkpoints during LBP1's lifetime. That's a lot of Q&A that could have been avoided by unlocking the content with the update. I really don't get why MM is so secretive now. It's a couple of days away, and we still don't know the price of the Move pack. It's odd that they haven't revealed this, but I can see where it might be a bit of a pickle. The size and development time for the Move Pack justify a higher price, but how high could it go before people balk? Not all DLC-purchasing LBP2 players have Move hardware so the number of potentially interested buyers is smaller by definition. Could they expect it to outsell Toy Story, for example? The pack would seem to require an even higher price just to ensure that it recovers its expenses in a limited market. On the other hand, making the pack cheaper encourages its adoption and could cause a snowball effect for sales of Move hardware itself. I'm sure Sony would love it if we creators could convince people to buy new peripherals. Normally they'd sell hardware for less than it's worth and make the money back on software, but maybe they could enjoy a bit of the opposite effect with the Move pack. In any case, somebody in the company has been sweating over the numbers for quite a while now. | 2011-09-10 18:59:00 Author: Uncuddly Posts: 237 |

Technically you don't have to own a Move to be a potential buyer though, I'd wager that this is the reason they've kept the sticker panel in the Pack rather than release it with the update. It's a pretty major addition, and I'd bet a lot of people without Move will be interested in buying it just for that. I bought the Pirates pack for a few of the materials they gave away, so I can understand why other people would buy the Move Pack solely for the sticker panel, and other bits and pieces that don't require the Move. | 2011-09-10 20:34:00 Author: Xaif Posts: 365 |

Technically you don't have to own a Move to be a potential buyer though, I'd wager that this is the reason they've kept the sticker panel in the Pack rather than release it with the update. You're right, but if we must begin the statement with "technically" it's not good news for the marketing department. There will be some percentage of people on the PSN store going "I don't have Move, so I won't buy this." If we have to explain that they could possibly purchase the pack and procure prizes by piggybacking with a peripheral-packing peer.... well, most of them will never hear our explanation anyway! Keeping the sticker panel in the DLC is definitely smart with regard to sales to sophisticated Move-less creators like the ones that frequent LBPC. How much does it mean to the average never-gonna-read-a-FAQ consumer? I guess we'll see! | 2011-09-10 21:06:00 Author: Uncuddly Posts: 237 |
I just checked, there is a "sticker template" tool, along with a "sticker cutter" tool, did they just change the name of one, or is it actually a new tool? They were both there prior to 1.06. They both effectively do the same thing, but the former does it before you create the material, whereas the latter does it after. ...all of the logic in some of the tutorial levels is visible and I can press down to fly. Well, you've always been able to fly - same as in LBP1 tutorials. As for visible logic, that sounds like a bug. Used to be possible to make it show by joining someone who was playing a tutorial, but I think that got patched. I'm pretty sure EVERY game that even has move capability HAS to show that ... because some stupid person will always get hurt and try to sue for millions. I don't think there's a legal precedent on this, and if it ever did come to court, I doubt a warning screen would get 'em off the hook. Still - I s'pose it can't hurt to include it. Kinda depressing the way some people turn to litigation rather than address their own stupidity. I s'pose if there was some sort of compelling deterrent for filing a frivolous lawsuit, we'd all be better off. I really hope someone comes up with a solution. If you have any friends who live nearby, perhaps you could take your PS3 round to their place, and download via their internet connection? So, is this the creator pack, or is that still on the horizon? There is no creator pack. In an interview, Spaff said something like "...patch 1.06 is kinda like a creator pack...", but someone misinterpreted it, and spread the rumor that there'd be a Creator Pack #2 DLC, similar to Creator Pack #1. Kinda like when the word "Movinator" was first used in an interview, someone misheard it as "Illuminator" and spread the rumor there was some sort of controllable torch tool coming in LBP2. Best thing is to never believe anything you read - including this. And that whole vague "something awesome is coming", I just don't get their marketing these days. I don't think that's the Move Pack, but something else which just happens to be on the same day. But I agree it's unnecessarily cryptic, so it's probably best to ignore it. Edit: Oh, yeah. Another fix I noticed (although not sure if this was actually prior to the patch) is that the community levels' "Text Search" option finds LBP2 levels again. | 2011-09-10 21:16:00 Author: Aya042 Posts: 2870 |

I tried this myself and I could control my evil clone with the navigation controller. I popped a third guy in and he was my roommate! Edit: I discoverd a cool fix in this patch that I haven't seen mentioned. When someone refused to let you join a level with them or if the player you want to join times out, then it gives you an option to "Play on your own" or "Cancel". I'm so happy that they changed this. I was so annoyed when I was sent into a multiplayer level when the person refused me. | 2011-09-11 03:24:00 Author: Tileno Posts: 81 |
Thanks MM for the update! I used the magic mouth actor name display in my new level. It looks really cool and works great for identifying character's names. Also, I can't wait for people to start making move levels. | 2011-09-11 07:30:00 Author: Silverpanther Posts: 156 |
I've been making changes to all my levels to utilize the new tools. So far I have made some large improvements. Too bad I can't get everyone who played it once before to try it again now.
