Favorite Nostalgic Games
Archive: 24 posts
We all have our favorite games. Uncharted, Ratchet and Clank, Super Smash Bros., Call of Duty... everyones is different. But where our hearts truly reside are in the games we played when we were younger, before we were gifted with LittleBigPlanet. So tell us, forum! What is your favorite nostalgic videogame? I can list a few: -Super Metroid (SNES) -LoZ: Links Awakening (Gameboy) -Super Mario 64 (N64) -Conker's Bad Fur Day (N64) -LoZ: OoT (N64) -Final Fantasy IX (PS1) Those are just a few. Also, if you could put what consol the're from and what makes them nostalgic, that would be greatly appreciated! Thanks, and remember to respect one's choices! | 2011-09-05 00:42:00 Author: nk827 Posts: 193 |
Paperboy (GameBoy) Pokemon Yellow (GameBoy) Tetris (GameBoy) Tekken 3 (PS1) Paperboy is the first game I remember owning (In technicalities, the first good game, anyone heard of Jelly Boy? And more importantly, has anyone ever got past the first level?!). The others, I just really really liked. Oh and Pokemon Red/Blue, I have crazy memories of my cousins hacking the cartridges to get level 140-150 Pokemon and they all looked kinda like trees. | 2011-09-05 00:47:00 Author: abyssalassassin Posts: 717 |

Elite (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elite_%28video_game%29) The only game you'll ever need. The first game I ever played on our first home computer - and it's still one of the best games I've ever played. I've been waiting my entire life for a better game to come out - only to be dissapointed. Apparently Elite 4 was supposed to be coming out for this generation of consoles - but they've said that for every previous generation of consoles aswell "Elite is credited as being the breakthrough title that defined the modern space flight simulation genre,[16][25][26][27][28] as well as being influential upon gaming as a whole.[25][26][29][30] It was named one of the sixteen most influential games in history at Telespiele, a German technology and games trade show,[18] and has been credited as being the first truly open-ended game[31][32] and opening the door for future online persistent worlds such as Second Life, World of Warcraft[19] and EVE Online.[33] Elite is one of the most popularly requested games to be remade,[34] with some arguing that it is still the best example of the genre to date, with more recent titles?including its sequel?not rising up to the same level" Wikipedia | 2011-09-05 01:54:00 Author: Macnme Posts: 1970 |

Crash and Spyro were my buddies! Now look at them now... Those childhood friends that always had your back, always wanted to hang out with you, but when you started getting older they got into drugs... Well they do look high now. | 2011-09-05 21:04:00 Author: JamesDNaux Posts: 757 |

Chaos - on the spectrum ZX (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chaos_(video_game)) ; A prime candidate for a PSN/Mini remake. An excellent multiplayer battle strategy game made by Games Workshop. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/6/6b/Chaoscomputergame.jpg Or I'm sure a more talented LBP creator than I would be able to translate it into LBP2 - though it may take a bit of logic planning. | 2011-09-13 14:50:00 Author: Macnme Posts: 1970 |

I have many top nostalgic games: Pokemon Red Crash bandicoot 3 Crash Team racing Star Wars Battlefront (sort of nostalgic) But my favourite (If I had to choose one) it would be Spyro: Gateway to Glimmer (or Ripto's Rage elsewhere). The first established the collecting and basic platforming but the second game took things to a new world (literally and metaphorically). The third is still amazing but I can't help but feel that the other characters and minigames distracted too much from the core elements established in the first one. | 2011-09-16 00:50:00 Author: Jedi_1993 Posts: 1518 |
