A very good level you've got here. Especially in terms of visuals, it was excellent. However it was pretty challenging & if you're not good with the grappling hook it can be quite tough.
In some parts you showed cut scenes of where you need to go but it wasn't very clear in parts how to actually get there-unless that's just me.
Overall, a good level that's a fun challenge and definitely worth more than 36 plays!

like it already, and thank you for adding pictures and a brief description of your level. So many people start a thread with "play my new level" and that's it, no picture or anything, sometimes not even a link. I've got this level queued and hopefully by this weekend I will have played it.2011-09-05 13:36:00

OMG thought I recognised your name, I played your level called, Tale of the horukans:The Journey in to the cave level after you played my level. I actually got stuck/lost so I quit, there was no clear path or a way to get up to the next ledge, ooops, even with the cut scene showing you (I wouldn't mind showing you either to help you polish it up, gameplay wise). From other reviews/comments it seems others have had the same issue on that level, and on your newer level in this post. But I'll give you a proper feedback and details once I've played it.

But I must say, you have a great flair for design and visuals in the level I played so far, so I'll definitely play this one.

This was an absoulutly beautifull level. The visuals were fantastic.
Some bounce pads were hidden a bit too well, so that that I couldn't tell that could bounce on them. Most of the gameplay was challenging but very enjoyable. Occasionally it was very hard to tell what to do.

http://i1.lbp.me/img/fh/aa05ad41ff5a2b684e9c5bb1e0901f80a75fd2dd.pngIn this part I could not figure out what to do. Was I supposed to hit the button? If so that seems almost impossible.
Overall it was an amazing level that needs more polish in the gameplay

I agree fully with what BobtheYoungFish said. Your level design is amazing, visually it's astounding. BUT gameplay experience is lacking and needs tweaking, there isn't always a clear path or obvious way to get to areas. More direction and space is needed. Many times a lot of the obstacles and grapple areas seemed impossible to reach. Especially without a clear path. This took some of the fun out of playing.

It's also easy to fall or get stuck in the scenery & gaps, the only way to get out was to kill myself, example pictures below:

http://i6.lbp.me/img/ft/90642f003082cbf96c07efafca6b8732da9d0b55.jpg

and

http://i8.lbp.me/img/ft/4f8a48b4ef0297b53c7026df38cbf2727af7686b.jpg

The rollers at the top of this picture seemed a bit stiff and I'm stuck again the lower left:
http://i0.lbp.me/img/ft/a6095224efa9eeb730bcf9f9bf8d60e7d3260fad.jpg

I got thrown into a gap before triggering a cut-scene, which was confusing. I came across quite a few issues that needs polishing up to give a better gameplay experience that this level deserves. It's a great level & I'm eager to come back to complete it once it's been updated.

Several times I spent ages trying to figure out what to do and where to go. I learnt from doing my own level that, what you think is straight forward and easy, may not be to other players since they did not make it or have prior knowledge about it. Even with one of the cut-scenes showing where to go, it still seemed that the path was not clear and things were hidden or too high up.

Overall you have amazing design and visual skills, simply astounding. I managed to hit the button in the previous post but this seemed by chance from grappling/swinging around trying to get to the button. It was very hit or miss. I'm not sure if you have had testers try out your level before publishing, but I always have a few testers run through my level to highlight any issues gameplay wise. This always helps when polishing up a level.

I can be quite thorough in my feedback, so I hope you don't take it the wrong way. I've learnt many things this way and have improved.

I yayed it due to the design and how it looks visually and you've really made an excellent level, it's challenging and I did not have a huge problem with the difficulty. But for such an amazing level, it needs more polish in the gameplay.

ok, I played it again and got past the part where I got stuck last time. It was pretty obvious, I guess that was partly my fault
All it really needs are more hints to what to do and the places that you get stuck (as LittleBigDes mentioned) need to be fixed, than it will be a near perfect level.

Hi, I know it's a big job to go changing a structure of a level. The challenge is fine, so don't worry. More visual cues/clues and better placement of switches and grapple areas it what you need. Should help a long way. You have a really good level. Just needs a bit of tweaking and polishing. I'll definitely play it again

UPDATE: A few switches were very high up out of your main view. If you don't want to move them since it's meant to be a challenge (being hard is ok), what you can do is use a game camera and increase the size of the viewing area when a player is near. Just a thought/idea. But I still managed to spot them. Or add a brighter light or different colour near it so it's not so easy to miss.

I'm back and congratulations on the 'Honourable mention' in the the Community Spotlight Episode 68 (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=63452-Community-Spotlight-Episode-68&highlight=Industry+Canyon).

After your updates and tweaks I went back and played your level. It does indeed play a lot the better, the gameplay experience for the player has improved without you having to change the difficulty. It's the small details and little things that help guide a player and make your level more enjoyable. So if you have played this level in it's early days before the updates, I would advise you go back and play it again. You'll also need a keen eye to spot switches but the addition of an extra cut-scene or two and lights helps.

This bit in particular is very clever:
http://ie.lbp.me/img/ft/38ed108cadfef922585ae218c8484a9f0903d470.jpg
BUT I did feel that the length of grapple hook meant that the bomb kept hitting the round bit below me to the right rather then the explosives below. This was frustrating as it was not my fault but due to the design of that section. The only way I got it to work was to jump and commit suicide, which is very unfair to the player. So I would suggest lowering the platform I'm standing on or making it at least 2 small squares longer so it doen't become too easy. Or maybe I missed something?

Also jumps pad are hard to identify, without prior knowledge which can be confusing, as they look like scenery. Can be hard to get used to since Media Molecule themselves in the game do not hide jump pads like this as part of the gameplay. It may confuse others of where to go and bounce from. But once you catch on it isn't a problem. I still managed and finally got to the scoreboard:

http://ib.lbp.me/img/ft/01bde7fe9aa755683c468128b90ee9cd55253e20.jpg

This level is visually astounding and challenging for those true platformer & grapple hook enthusiasts. So go and play it if you havn't. Since you've updated it you've now got an additional heart from me.

Whoo, great level and I feel a bit relieved that I finished it. The level was indeed challenging like your description said, but I had a lot of fun playing it. I had the most problem with the area that Bobtheyoungfish mentions with his screenshot. I didn't know how to reach the red button. It was pure luck that I happened to be grabbing at the right moment and happened to grab the right thing because I didn't see what I was supposed to do. I would make that section a bit clearer on what to do. Other than that, I had a blast playing. I feel like a broken record because everybody has mentioned how awesome the visuals are, but the scenery is excellent and unique. Nice level2011-09-30 06:05:00

LOL its the placing of the button and the height of switch or grab-able material that makes it look impossible to get to. And confuses players, it actually gave me a headache for 10 minutes (before you updated it). Honestly to me it also felt like pure luck that I managed to get up to the red button too. Even with the added cutscene and hologram. It's not the hints. It's the direction (where to go, what to do and how to), distanaces & placements of buttons, switches etc is worth baring in mind when creating levels. Difinitely something you need to imporve on as a creator. As these and other problems before you updated it, are the same problems that is in your cave level, so I did not get very far and quit. So this is all very good feedback to learn from and take on board. Level still deserves more plays though.

Great, I went back and played it, here's the before and after images:

BEFORE: In this one I haven't triggered the switches, so the arrows are not there
http://i0.lbp.me/img/ft/aa05ad41ff5a2b684e9c5bb1e0901f80a75fd2dd.jpg

AFTER: this is after triggering the switches, that's why the arrows are there
http://i8.lbp.me/img/ft/b38fa19ceb29e932ac628ecf9d5feb9a75d34423.jpg

Just by looking at the changes it definitely looks better with the green light. It stands out more against the red theme and the button still takes effort but it's not frustrating or tedious anymore. You're now on my hearted list.

This level taught me that I suck at Grapple Hook Skills >.>

Visually it was very appealing. Only once or twice did I actually have to work hard at finding where to go, but it wasn't a huge issue. There was a spot where I found it exceptionally difficult to clear. It may have been I was missing something, but it was a spot getting up to a spot that LittleBigDes has pictured above. For the life of me I couldn't figure out how to get up to that platform regularly. Using the grapple hook to swing around in a 180 arc to get above what I grappled seemed a little difficult. I felt that either the bounce pad aiding you could be stronger or a better clue to something I was missing could work. Or perhaps this is something most people have no issue with and I just suck! No idea.

I really liked the visuals though. Keep up the good work ^^

z1091990, this was a fantastic level. It is the type of challenge I enjoy. There were some areas that really tested a player's timing with the grappling hook. I also enjoyed having to think my way through some of the sections. The score bubble boxes was also a nice feature with the rapid grapple technique to open the box. My favorite section was the final area just beneath the scoreboard. I was at about 2300 points when I made it to the top of the towers before being launched up to the scoreboard, but some score bubbles caught my eye on the tower to the far right, so I went back down to get them just as the bridge the towers were on collpased. I fell off to the right and got burned, and respawned at the checkpoint by the tube with the bounce pad at the bottom of it. Everytime I tried to bounce back up, the fire would burn me before I could grapple to the middle tower. By the time I perfected the timing to do this, I had lost over 2000 of my points.

So, now I'm ready to play it a 4th time, and get the high score. Thank you for creating this great level, and I look forward to playing more of your creations.

BRAVO!

2300 its not much it seems u didnt found the hidden mini game ^^ in the 2nd cutscene u can see a big switch high above the canyon with a right swing at the 180er arc swinging roller u can get him and open the minigame part

if u like try it again and beat my score ^^

so far thanks for ur comment
