I have been a member for this site for a couple weeks now, but never really got around to posting a introduction thread. I thought this would be a good idea to get me accommodated with the site and it's members. As said in the topic title, my name is Torcher (PSN is Torcher244) and I generally like to play and make levels. Specifically, I lean toward making levels with bunches of logic (My new release, Rock Legend, has a spaghetti of logic wires) than making fancy platformers. I'll admit that I'm not a good artist as far as how things look in a level, but I can make things seem passable. My favorite sport is definitely basketball (Go Wolves! ) Well that's enough about me. I'm quite excited to meet the members and personalities here, and I hope I'll have plenty of memories here as well.

Hi Torcher. Welcome to LBPC. I have the same dilemma as you...logic vs lovely. I prefer contraptions, and my Moon is filled with them (literally filled with them)...I just don't know how to incorporate them into a level. Maybe we should consider publishing levels of contraptions...then the gameplay expectations will be lowered . This is really a great site. I think you will enjoy it here. There are some really great people and we enjoy helping each other. See you around.

Don't get me wrong here, I can make levels with gameplay elements in them (and put a creative twist on them), but I don't make them look nice. I'm not a big contraption guy either.

Thanks for providing additional details Torcher, so that we may better understand what motivates you. Regarding contraptions and clarification of my comment...I use that term in it's generic form...which includes gadgets and widgets of a mechanical or electronic nature. If a level is more complex than a bubble runner and a scoreboard, then it most likely incorporates a contraption driven by logic. One great thing about LBPC is the experimentation with the tools in the popit, and continually pushing the boundaries of the LBP create engine. There are countless tutorials and help threads archived on this site, just waiting to be perused. Enjoy.
