What do you like to see most on your level?
Archive: 8 posts
I really like to see the yays, reviews, and hearts. What surprised me, because it was so unexpected, is the satisfaction I get when I see people come back to play again. I really like checking the lbp.me page and seeing people from two days ago coming back to play again. I think that is what I like the most of all, although there is also something to be said for a good review. It's a tough call. When you guys check your levels, what is it that you see that makes you think "I've done something good here"? EDIT- Making a level itself is good and satisfying. It's great in itself to fulfill a vision, but I am talking about once that vision meets your expectations and you release it. | 2011-09-03 09:00:00 Author: tdarb Posts: 689 |
Hearts and nice and yays are nice, but I think what I appreciate the most is just a simple, considered and friendly comment or review. Someone who has something interesting or amusing or helpful to say, or somebody who has a good sense of humour and doesn't take LBP too seriously. But also, I agree that repeated visits are strangely satisfying to see. The kind of levels I make aren't the kind of levels that get awards or picks or spotlights at all, ever, but if people come back more than once, then that makes me a happy weirdy. | 2011-09-03 14:20:00 Author: weirdybeardy Posts: 123 |
About the level I'm making, I like to include little details here and there like a leaking pipe, a little bird on a tree branch that flies awat when you come close (I'm proud of that one), a sackbot farmer sleeping under a tree with little holograms in the shape of Z's flickering above him, a notice board with a photo of my sackboy on a "WANTED" sticker, stuff like that. After I make those things I like going into playmode and watching them work Thermo space is a beotch about this though, and I've been forced to take off some less useful stuff here and there. | 2011-09-03 14:28:00 Author: SnipySev Posts: 2452 |

Probably the nicest thing that I've experienced was when I released my Dream Catcher trailer in LBP2. It is a remake of my LBP1 series, and a lot of comments were from people who said they fondly remembered those levels. It was just nice to know that my levels had made a big enough impression on a few people that they remembered them so long after. It was a nice and rare experience. | 2011-09-04 03:00:00 Author: CYMBOL Posts: 1230 |
Plays. Just plays. More than five would be nice. Nah, I'm just kidding. (Or am I >.>?) I'm not a whiny sap. I like to see constructive reviews and feedback, along with yays. It makes me squirm when someone boos with no reason. | 2011-09-05 16:55:00 Author: Sackpapoi Posts: 1195 |
I really like when people leave a well written, in-depth review (positive or negative) on a level I have spend a lot of time on. I actually also very much enjoy if people leave short reviews simply stating "lol" or "hahaha" on the tiny levels I make just to give people a quick laugh | 2011-09-05 17:14:00 Author: Slaeden-Bob Posts: 605 |
I like seeing a really good yay/boo ratio, but even more I love seeing people compliment my level in a really good way, or talk about some aspect of it in several sentences. Its the greatest feeling and I hope it never wears off. | 2011-09-05 17:43:00 Author: ATMLVE Posts: 1177 |
