Somebody pointed out to me in another post that if you have 2 players on different machines (online) they can move away much further with their own camera. I was just wondering some things (I don't have any online friends to test out so ) For example if you want to make a game for 2 players that can't see the same thing, let's say a battleship game, can: - you lock the players in a controlinator and move then far far away from each other without them dying? - what would happen if a third player joined, with camera, will the other players cameras move or will it give that player his own camera? (Not really important in a 2 player game, you could lock 'm out, but just curious) - can you put a game/movie camera on the players controlinators and tweak it per player? Hope somebody can help me with this Oh and if anybody knows level(s) that use this please let me know | 2011-09-01 08:23:00 Author: Tricky Posts: 46 |
Yes you can, if the stage is set to competitive, then each player can have their own game camera. Showing you a stage that does this is irrelevant as you will never see it in action, as you will only ever see your own screen. Not the other players. However http://lbp.me/v/487qgz this stage by SSTAGG is an example of it. The map is so big that players can walk off of each other's screens while looking for a bigger gun than the other person. | 2011-09-01 08:50:00 Author: Mr_Fusion Posts: 1799 |
Yep!, it's true | 2011-09-02 02:02:00 Author: zzmorg82 Posts: 948 |
Yup As Mr. Fusion says, If you go into your popits tools menu and scroll all the way right (Tools 7/7) first option lets you set whether the level will be COOP (all active players use the hosts camera view, so going out of range of other players camera view gets them counted out), or VERSUS (Each active player has thier own camera that follows them on thier screen -it is only relevent online or over a lan connection-. This setting means each individual active player will be able to go and explore other parts of the level and not be forced to stay with the host player- and counted out). There are a few things to note about both modes- COOPERATIVE MODE- The camera focuses of all the players and stays with he leading player (so if for example player 2 runs away from the pack, the camera will zoom out to its maximum range to try and keep all players on screen as long as possible, but it will evntally be forced to follow the player thats breaking away from the group. IN coop play the camera will always try to follow the preson to move away from the group first- so if player 2 moves right, THEN, player 3 moves left, the camera will follow player 2 as they moved first. VERSUS MODE- Each individual player playing on thier own PS3 will have thier own camera view of the action, focused on thier own sackperson and will be trained to track them around the level. However if more than one player is playing on the one console then the camera functions like it does in coop (i.e. getting counted out) for those playing on that comsole | 2011-09-02 14:05:00 Author: Sean88 Posts: 662 |
