Throwing out the garbage
Archive: 16 posts
i just bought the game of the year LBP addition to get the free packs with it... and this week i finally get on line. go figure. anyway, on playing some the the community levels i happened upon the little prizes they have been thoughtful enough to provide. HOW DO I GET RID OF THESE!! help, i just don't want them leering at me from my popit like last years dust beneath the rug | 2011-08-31 16:25:00 Author: GribbleGrunger Posts: 3910 |
There's a setting (in lbp2, so I assume it's in lbp1) that turns off the collection of prizes and photos. You can still collect the bubbles for points, but the prizes and photos don't accumulate. Otherwise, you can just delete them afterwards. | 2011-08-31 16:29:00 Author: Brannayen Posts: 438 |

HOW DO I GET RID OF THESE!! You can't... easily. They count as Story Mode objects, so the only way you can delete them, would be to either reset your profile, or for non-GotY editions you can delete your DLC data - select the object so it pops up with "you don't own the DLC for this object" and an exclamation mark appears on the item, then the option to delete the item appears if you press triangle on it. Sadly, disabling the "Collect Community Objects" won't help you either. | 2011-08-31 21:24:00 Author: Aya042 Posts: 2870 |
Assuming your goal is to update your LBP2 profile, just collapse that whole category, that's what I did... | 2011-08-31 21:31:00 Author: fullofwin Posts: 1214 |
My favourite sticker in all of LBP is that "Ready?" one that was a prize in one of the GOTY levels. | 2011-08-31 22:24:00 Author: Ayneh Posts: 2454 |
There's an option that prevents you from collecting community prizes in both LBP's. I know that in LBP2 there's an option in the community objects page that deletes all the prizes you didn't heart but I have no idea if the same option exists in LBP1. | 2011-08-31 22:31:00 Author: SnipySev Posts: 2452 |

Read Aya042's post again carefully... To re-iterate, these aren't normal community prizes...they are collected from the GOTY edition levels that were created by community members for that game and are included on the game disk. They count as story levels prizes and are all uniquely horrible. In LBP2 they show up as their own category so you can at least collapse them. | 2011-08-31 23:20:00 Author: fullofwin Posts: 1214 |

So I'm not missing out on anything for not buying the Goty edition. Good. | 2011-08-31 23:46:00 Author: SnipySev Posts: 2452 |
I hate the forced collection of objects in those GOTY community levels. They're great fun, but once you have 'em, you have 'em. When my 100% completion for LBP1 crashed and I had to redo it all, the one upshot was that it cleansed my Popit of that gunk (unintentional gross euphemism there). | 2011-09-01 03:26:00 Author: Unknown User |
I like to move everything into a new category labeled ' ', then collapse it! | 2011-09-01 13:33:00 Author: Unknown User |

Christ i could do that with my eyes shut. what if i then want to collect something... lets say from Comfermc's levels. do i just untick it in the level or before i enter? I like to move everything into a new category labeled ' ', then collapse it! yeah, that's what it has to be by the looks of it | 2011-09-01 16:03:00 Author: GribbleGrunger Posts: 3910 |

Any time, even while in a level (before you collect the desired object), just pause the game, go to Settings, and tick the box that says Collect Community Prizes. You can even un-tick it again after collecting the object. Although I usually play it safe and leave it ticked, exit the level, and untick the box while in the Pod. | 2011-09-02 14:29:00 Author: Unknown User |
