Warning: This level is hard, please don't thumb it down because of that. That's why I only recommend 1 player only! No one likes a too easy level! Arg, this is my first platformer that I made in LBP2 (the first level was taken out, I might redo it later), there is no design or anything, just me test out how I can make a hard no-floor platformer. You're right, it was difficult. As such, it's tough for me to make constructive suggestions - I didn't finish. I think there's a few things you could do to improve the experience visually. I'd start with a thin layer of invisible lethal hologram, then put some kind of background in the rear layer, even if it's only clouds. You could glue the on/off signs for your timed hazards to these background objects, instead of having them float in space.
