This Man?
Archive: 39 posts
Dreams are some of the most strangest things that we dont quite understand, theres even a villain who goes around in peoples dreams and kills people while they sleep in movies, a movie on dreams, but what is a dream anyway? Why do we have dreams? Nobody knows. But reports claim that a man, called "This Man" is appearing in peoples dreams all over the world, is this some kind of a hoax? Is this some kind of Dream Traveller? A scientist who has developed the power to enter the dreams of people while they sleep? Who knows? But hes no doubt everywhere. Have you seen him in your dreams? Reports describe him as a caucasian male with bushy eye brows, sort of bald with big lips and a few other significant features, heres a news report on him from Italy, ill leave you guys to speculate. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kA6CxRMtLQM | 2011-08-28 16:37:00 Author: Charlemagne Posts: 513 |
Though he may have appeared in several others' dreams, never once have I seen him in mine. | 2011-08-28 16:56:00 Author: Outlaw-Jack Posts: 5757 |
Well that's certainly interesting... Especially considering several people saw err... "Him" on separate occasions. He has very big eye brows now that I look at him. o.O Aww like two little caterpillars. | 2011-08-28 17:03:00 Author: Maxi Posts: 1176 |
First of all, let me say that the picture looks nothing at all like me in real life. It is simply "The image...image...image...I choose to project....project....project Muahahahaha". Actually, I have often wondered who "The Man" is. We hear a lot about him, from time to time. So I'm wondering...is "The Man" "This Man"? | 2011-08-28 17:17:00 Author: RickRock_777 Posts: 1567 |
Is this some kind of a hoax? Yes. Requiem For A Dream soundtrack, oh, how original. | 2011-08-28 18:39:00 Author: Mr_T-Shirt Posts: 1477 |
Never seen him in my dreams. And I don't want to see him in my dreams either. | 2011-08-28 18:44:00 Author: Alec Posts: 3871 |
This is the biggest load of rubbish I've read all year. Haha. Amazing that things like this take off, and that some will genuinely buy into it. | 2011-08-28 20:09:00 Author: Ostler5000 Posts: 1017 |
hes no doubt everywhere. I have considerable doubts Does "This Man" also appear in the dreams of dogs? - Or maybe they dream about a dog with bushy eyebrows? Dreams are caused by your subconscious - not by "dream travellers"*- or "scientists who can enter peoples dreams"*. *Source needed | 2011-08-28 21:18:00 Author: Macnme Posts: 1970 |
Ironically, watching that video will keep his image in my mind. No doubt I'll dream about him now. | 2011-08-28 21:39:00 Author: Nurolight Posts: 918 |
You hear about it, you tell someone, they dream about it, they spread it about, someone talks about it in a story online, lots of people try to put together the image in their heads, they dream about it, then a video like this happens and now tons of people have his image in their minds, BAM, people may dream about him even more now, since they've seen the face, so really the more fuzz they make about it, the more common and less rare it becomes to dream of this person. | 2011-08-28 21:39:00 Author: Silverleon Posts: 6707 |
Im not saying that i believe in him im just theorizing about this subject, obviously if you see an image and connect that to the action of dreaming, then there is a higher possible chance of that thing appearing in the dream, another theory is that people dont quite remember their dreams but know that there was a man in their dreams, they automatically see that image and recognize that as the man in their dreams, nobody knows for sure what it is, i think its just because of the fact that people tell each other about it and then that causes a chain reaction of the same man appearing in different peoples dreams on and on and on, but you cant exactly say something scientific and then call it the truth, you have to speculate first and then make your decision, if i were a scientist i would do some research on this subject, so that i could prove it to be a hoax. One of the most ridiculous theories is that its some kind of a god, but nevertheless it still remains a mystery, i actually dont have dreams, at least if i do i dont remember them, but as far as i knowv i dont have that capability, i actually only recall having one dream in my lifetime and thats it, other than that, i just remember a complete darkness for like 2 minutes and then i just wake up 6 hours later, but now since you guys know about him i was wondering if you could tell us about it in this thread in case you have a dream about him to further my theory. @Silverleon, thats not neccesairily true, i see macnmes avatar, its groundskeeper willy, that doesnt mean im going to have some kind of dream about groundskeeper willy, that just means i saw groundskeeper willy in macnmes avatar. Dreams usually include something relevant to a persons life, like some kind of a visual metaphor, i dont really see how "This Man" would really connect to anything even seemingly important. | 2011-08-28 21:53:00 Author: Charlemagne Posts: 513 |
A bunch of superstitious rubbish. If we can't even begin to understand dreams, what makes you think anyone could possibly enter anyone's dream, let alone hundreds of people he's never met? Dreams are not broadcast over WiFi, you can't just tap into someone's dream from thousands of kilometers away. | 2011-08-28 21:55:00 Author: xero Posts: 2419 |
Lol. This was a viral video campaign for a film written and directed by Bryan Bertino that I think has become stuck in production limbo. Very convincing, but still, a marketing ploy gone rogue after the film capsized. Check it, children! > "This Man" (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1650550/) Further reading > Meme (http://knowyourmeme.com/memes/this-man-ever-dream-this-man#.TlqtAKiYSSo) | 2011-08-28 21:59:00 Author: poorjack Posts: 1806 |

Says who? I didnt know that you made the laws of the universe. You said yourself, we don't understand anything about dreams. So then how can "this man" know everything there is to know? Or at least, enough to defy known laws of science. PS>You didn't know? I'm god. Bow down, cur. | 2011-08-28 22:17:00 Author: xero Posts: 2419 |
-LBEnder posts cool video of paranoid bullcrap -People post paranoid bullcrap -Poorjack posts source -Ender ignores source with more paranoid bullcrap /thread jk This is a cool meme. One of my favorites. Slenderman FTW tho... They are making a movie of that too, but it actually is getting made. | 2011-08-28 22:18:00 Author: poorjack Posts: 1806 |

See, this is the problem when you aren't a rational skeptic - you can get so easily suckered into believing nearly any incredulous story. I mean, even though we now know that "This Man" is just a viral marketing campaign -it still won't stop people from believing that it might still be true. | 2011-08-28 23:11:00 Author: Macnme Posts: 1970 |
Well, it's certainly interesting, and a bit disturbing and scary.. But I'm gonna try to say this, then walk out so I don't start any arguments.. So, what I think, is some people are lying about seeing this guy after they've heard of one person seeing him, or this is a coincidence, but either way, I don't believe this. Scientist figuring out a way to get into our dreams, is kinda far-fetched, I think this is light years into the future. Because according to research I've done, and stuff I've read when I'd be bored ( - _- ), people can look at a picture, or watch a movie, and they'll be thinking about it as they're going to sleep, and dream about it. So as they read about this guy, or watch it on the news, or even heard about it, they'd have that image in their thoughts as they go to sleep, so they dream about it subconsciously. Or maybe this is stupid, I don't know | 2011-08-28 23:51:00 Author: Unknown User |
Slenderman FTW tho... They are making a movie of that too, but it actually is getting made. Really? A proper, full length movie of Marble Hornets, or just a story about Slenderman? Either way: ! And relating to the thread, I've actually seen "this man" in a dream once. I'm pretty sure it was after I'd already seen his picture though... | 2011-08-29 11:55:00 Author: Unknown User |

I'm pretty sure it was after I'd already seen his picture though... No :/ I loved marble hornets though. It was amazing. The Slenderman Movie looks more like... A regular hollywood horror film. Like Nightmare On Elmstreet. EDIT: LOOKED. I saw a trailer for it this past winter on IMDB, but it looks like it got cancelled as well, as it has been removed. | 2011-08-29 18:39:00 Author: poorjack Posts: 1806 |
They make it up and its so ridiculous you remember. Then when you sleep there is a higher chance he is there. So then you have some weird fan group of believers. Its all phycological. | 2011-08-29 18:57:00 Author: craigmond Posts: 2426 |
I think the dude who made this theard just wanted some attention... How is this a cry for attention? To me it seems just like any other general topic thread. Anyway, I haven't seen any man in any dream of mine. I haven't dreamt in a while now anyway. I'm not going to rule anything out though. Anything is possible!! (Almost anything anyway) | 2011-08-29 19:43:00 Author: Amigps Posts: 564 |
I think the dude who made this theard just wanted some attention... I think the dude who made this post just wanted some attention... @Sackgirlsrule. Not necessarily, einsteins theory states that energy can be converted into matter, and considering the technology that our governments might posess i dont think were very far from the future. @Macnme, I was never much of a skeptic anyway, anything that has a fair amount of unexplainable evidence, or something that cant be explained so easily, i will give at least a little credit to, im not saying i believe in this, personally, i think this is as much of a load of crap as the next guy, but it is an interesting topic, considering its a meme on the internet now. But then again, it's fun to believe in the craziest things isnt it? | 2011-08-30 00:00:00 Author: Charlemagne Posts: 513 |
Oh, I think this is a very clever ad' It made me want to see the film it was made for (unless it was cancelled a while ago as people said here). Anyway, the first thing that came to my mind when I saw his picture was... you know, that kind of wooden puppet (anyone?) I couldn't say why, but his look reminds me of Danny. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HUlCwv7IlcQ | 2011-09-01 17:11:00 Author: Oddmania Posts: 1305 |
It's obvious, isn't it? The person who invented This Man is part of a product committee, and claims to see this person in their dreams, and so other people will 'dream' of This Man too. Then, several weeks later, just when the fad dies out, the comittee will again claim that This Man is then in refreshed in people's dreams, and using a product that is made by the comittee. And since we're so superstitious in this kind of surreal stuff, we shall buy that product. It's the perfect marketing solution. | 2011-09-01 19:47:00 Author: Denim360 Posts: 482 |
