Acing Kling Klong...

Archive: 14 posts

I am making a series of fairly easy platformers called "Pleasant Platformer". The first level of the series was the Da Vinci's Hideout theme. (I published that one today.) The second will be Victoria's Laboratory, and the last one wil be Avalonia. I already had the Da Vinci and Avalon costumes, but I needed to ace Kling Klong to get Victoria. I thought Kling Klong was a pretty hard boss to ace, but this morning I aced it in 2 tries and furthermore got the "Ace Victoria's Laboratory" pin. I then proceeded to ace "Casa del Higginbotham", which got me the "Ace 25 Story Levels" pin. Anyway, do you think I'm sort of weird like that, how I think the boss is hard, but then easily ace it? 2011-08-28 03:32:00

I aced that one on my first try. Almost died but no. It's pretty easy.2011-08-28 12:19:00

Acing Kling Klong wasn't really a huge problem for me either. Took me only like 2 or 3 tries.2011-08-28 21:27:00

What I meant was do you think I'm sort of weird like that, how I think the boss is hard, but then easily ace it, regardless of how hard it was for you?2011-09-01 20:47:00

Never saw the Kling Klong as a hard boss. Actually I think it's one of the easiest levels in the franchise, when you exclude the first easy levels of each game. It's all about the pattern. And each pattern sequence is slow, easily decorated, there's enough room for timing mistakes, the creature's moves are predictable and the weak spot is easily recognizable. In my opinion the wooden gorilla boss was harder.2011-09-01 21:16:00

I thought the Negativitron would be difficult, then aced on my second try! 2011-09-01 21:19:00

Difficult levels are often a lot easier after a good break from trying them. But yes, I can see why Kling Klong could be seen as difficult, but it is a boss!2011-09-01 21:47:00

Agreed, I hate those electrified Yo-yos...

I think Kling Klong is unnerving, the design and such. It turns out to be pretty easy.2011-12-31 09:27:00

Not really. It took me so many, many tries to complete the **** "Collector's Lair", and when I finally managed to, I aced it aswell! 2012-02-05 18:26:00

Kling Klong was pretty hard to beat at first, but then I beat it and aced it in one play. And I still have not aced the Negativitron. I probably never will, since I got the Higginbotham costume from a different source.2012-02-08 14:32:00

Acing the story levels aren't that hard to do. It only took me a day or so to sit down and focus on acing story mode. Now I have about 2 levels left to ace.2012-02-09 02:36:00

@Cobaltor: Now I have aced and 100%ed (is that a word?) both story modes (LBP1 and LBP2). Which two levels are you stuck on?2012-02-09 14:09:00

I remember acing and 100%-ing the whole game. I felt so accomplished.
Don't try "aces in spades" okay? You'll go insane. Unless you're incredibly talented and handsome like moi.
Also, if it isn't patched, there's a glitch to skip to the end of the last level. I doubt you'd want to cheat though . It feels much more rewarding.
