Sackboys new epic adventure is about to begin. Sail together with captain Jack to a mysterious island in search for the lost treasure from Blackbeard.

It's actually an rpg styled level with some little platforming. Part II coming soon!

Thanks doggy for the review. Glad you like it. Yes I spent a LOT of time on this project. As for the ending... well yes I could make it better but the thermo was actually full and I wanted to prevent the level from lag. Part II will be much better with puzzles, more platforming challenges and an Epic Boss Battle.

Feedback time, with MY feedback sentences.

Awesome Stuff:
-Supreme Visuals.
-Those characters are epic.

Stuff That Needs To Be Sent To The Void.
-Not that much platforming.
-It has no sea battles with Voids and kittens.

Stuff that was strange, yet awesome (my sentence. ):
-Yay, sticker secret.
-You used the brain popping dissappear tactic, even though the costume piecs are made from dissolve material.

Hahah! Sorry but the PSP is too weak for making a sea battle with Voids and Kittens.
Thanks for the feedback.
Yes there are points for finding objects.

Hey schark, I really enjoyed this level. You really went all out on the visuals.
HOWEVER, it was incredibly short and had a few izzues.
The main issue was jumping up to get the key. It seriously took me over 15 minutes to get the jump right and get up. I would really consider republishing and fixing that, it was very annoying. I you do choose to republish, I'd consider adding a bit more length to the level while at it. I know the thermo can be tricky, but Iwould really like to see more to the level. It's up to anyhow, and I gave you 5:star: and a <3. I eagerly await part 2!

EDIT: :0 I just noticed your 3rd layer work! Great job on it! That must have been a real pain

Sorry pal but there's no way to make it longer. Still there will be a sequel to this creation.
Reaching the key it isn't that hard (I think). All you need is to swing the platform with a bit timing.

This one is really cool. I loved the look of it. Even just the trim around the buildings was awsome. I really liked the ladder and the door that opens after that. You can see through the wood planks of the door and I was thinking .. oooohhhh. ahhhh... why didn't I think of that. LOL. Also I found my way up to 2 of the secret sticker points before it was time to. And then later found it was a route I was supposed to take. So I was a little dissppointed that I took the hard way to get up to them.

This level was great! I gave it 5 stars and a heart. Even though I can't find the last prize bubble.

Oh and I had no problems getting up to the key on the first try.

Pirates of the Seven Seasart I
Schark5000
Enjoy a great treasure hunting adventure. Part I of the "Pirates of the Seven Seas" series. 08/29/2011
www.lbpcentral.com

DESCRIPTION: (6/10) A decent description although there is very little treasure hunting in the actual level!

SETTING: (14/20) The level is set primarily in a pirate town before the player embarks on a short journey to a mysterious island to search for some treasure.

LEVEL LAYOUT: (15/20) The level is pretty basic in that the player simply goes from left to right although the design work in the level is excellent and everything in the level is expertly crafted. Clearly a lot of time and effort has went into it and it shows throughout.

STORY & CHARACTERS: (15/20) The story concerns the player hooking up (no pun intended!) with a pirate captain called Jack in a pirate town and carrying out a few tasks before they set sail on an treasure hunting adventure to a strange island. The levels ends on a cliff hanger that nicely sets things up for part 2. The characters in the level are all pirates although I was a bit disappointed that there was no grog being consumed by any of them. I think it would have been cool if the player had to go around getting beer for his pirate colleagues in return for score bubbles or having them join the crew. I felt the pirates lacked any real character or distinguishing features to separate them from each other and hope that in future levels they are all expanded on and fleshed out. Overall, however, I find the level storywise serves as a good introduction to what should hopefully be a series of great pirate adventures.

VISUAL: (17/20) The details on the buildings is as good as I have seen on lbp. Everything is top notch in this regard and the only faults I could find is with the characters in the level as they all looked pretty much the same. I would have liked to have seen more life put into the town as well. Things such as pirates arguing or propped up drunkenly against barrels and buxom wenches hanging out of widows etc. Also I think it would have been great to have seen some pirates on the ship perhaps up on the sails adjusting the rigging or something. Things such as this would in my opinion breathe more life into the town and really take it to another level.

AUDIO: (15/20) The song seems to fit the level well and there were quite a few FX spread throughout the level as well.

LOGIC: (15/20) The sticker switches were very clever and well placed and there were quite a few things to interact with in the level.

GAMEPLAY: (15/20) The gameplay consists of running back and forth through the level collecting parts of a pirate costume in order to get past a checkpoint and onto the pirate ship. There is quite a bit of backtracking in this regard although as the level is quite short it is not that tedious.

STAND OUT MOMENT: The design of the buildings complete with the signs was for me the outstanding feature of the level. I also quite liked the underwater sections as well and the seaweed covered barrels.

REPLAY VALUE: Yes. I have played through this multiple times and have always enjoyed it. The constant backtracking does grate after a while however.

FINAL THOUGHTS: This serves as a great beginning to what hopefully will be a great series of pirate adventures. As I have stated before I feel the town and characters could do with some more life put into them and the dialogue is pretty basic throughout but as an introduction it does the job nicely. There are so many possibilites for future levels and I am sure Schark5000 has many ideas up his sleeves for the future and I for one will look forward to them.

FINAL SCORE:112/150. Rated 5 stars and hearted online.

As per request, I played this level and found it to be a sheer delight. The story was well executed without being intrusive and the level design was great. The scenery was absolutely lovely as well; the buildings (and the great window ideas I'll be sure to use *shifts eyes*), the ship design, everything. It was very well crafted and fit perfectly. I also love how water was done. It gave the idea of being underwater while not imposing on gameplay at all (though I do question why a town would have random water in it...) The balance between having the story exist without being annoying is hard to strike and this is the second time (Autumn Maple Leaves is first) I've seen it pulled off. This might be that a character only says one line of dialogue before you're off again. And the ship... Wonderful!

Anyway, I will agree that backtracking got a little tedious after a while which took me out of the idea that I was just awesome and found some hidden areas/platforms. The pirates also were all designed exactly the same and there wasn't any personality to them. Finally, I really didn't care for the story which didn't seem to have a general direction (unless I somehow missed it). It seemed like all the tasks were a bit random, though they did make sense. I just feel 'more' could have been done with it.

Great level and I look forward to playing more by you.

Story: It's starts off as a sackboy teaming up with a pirate then sackboy must find objects to continue to get to the ship. Sackboy found the key to get on the ship then they made it to the island. Sackboy fell into the trap and it stops there for part 1. GREAT!

Challenge: It's a bit short but It's is a psp level though. The collecting 5 parts of a pirate costume and getting the key is actully a pretty good challenge. FANTASTIC!

Characters: Pretty good. They almost look the same though. GOOD.

Pro: The theme of the level looks a lot like the pirates of the caribean level kit for lbp1 ps3. The trap that was unexpected keep you on your toes. The hidden prize that uses a sticker switch is a good idea. AWESOME!

Cons: When you get in the water it dosen't feel exciting It's just a bit plane to go in water without any water sounds which could be a bit more exciting.(EDIT: There is some sounds but not loud so you could add more sounds really close to the 1st one so it would be louder.) Meh.

Overall: It's one of the best levels I've seen in lbp psp. Makes me want to play it again later in the future. It's absolutely proves what lbp psp can do. 98.5/100 :star::star::star::star::star:<3 OUTSTANDING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well I have to disagree with you this time.
You didn't listen. There are water sound effects but they aren't loud enough. Also I wanted to add the "jumping into the water" sound but there were some complications and it wouldn't work.
Still thank you for the review.

Oh whoops. Sorry about that I didn't hear it. Volume was full and I still didn't hear it lol. Ok I could help you with that but psp is not multiplayer so I can't help with that.

Great stuff here Schark!!

Wow, I was really impressed. I know of you as a guy that is on almost all of my scoreboards, and you make levels too? I am impressed with you my friend.

This level looks great. Without a doubt, you have an eye for the details. Your architecture and characters are some of the best I have seen.

Gameplay is fun too.

I am not much for RPG's, and this felt like an RPG to me. But this was good.

Backtracking through scenery I have already seen although beautiful is somewhat of a chore sometimes, I like gameplay more than anything, but.....

... you kept it fresh with new dialogue, so I can't fault.

I have also played your survival challenges too. They are great. I can't get on the scoreboard yet, but I will keep trying.

Anyway I hope you keep creating. I love lbp psp so if you create I will more than likely play it.

I hearted this and you as creator. <3

See you on the scoreboards brother.

Review

Good Tings
-The pirates looked awesome and each one different
-The environment, the houses and the island place
-The pirate SHIP
-Hidden sticker switches
-Backtracking (yes, that is a good thing in my books)

Bad Tings
-Uh... um... I don't know. Oh, it was a bit short.

Thanks for the review GDB!
Part II is nearly done but it seems that the boss battle won't make it to the level because of the thermo. Still I'll try to solve this problem. If not... I'll do it in part 3.
