Quantum Conundrum, Portal lead Kim Swift's new downloadable game!

Archive: 6 posts

Quantum Conundrum, a new first-person puzzle game in which you gracefully shift between different dimensions and alter the physical properties of the environment, was inspired when the designer took a "stroll to the local bakery." Apparently, Kim Swift has not only moved from Valve to Airtight Games, but from America to Amsterdam. What exactly are they baking in there?

Due to launch on Xbox Live Arcade, PlayStation Network and Steam in 2012, Quantum Conundrum sees you exploring the enormous manor (and eccentric manner) of your uncle, Professor Fitz Quadwrangle. Using an "interdimensional shift device," you can activate different dimensions that influence the house in unusual ways. One flips the gravity, another envelopes the world in a bubble of slow-motion (perfect for tossing items to yourself), and another renders heavy, serious safes as lightweight plush toys. That would be the "fluffy dimension," according to Gamespot's preview (http://www.gamespot.com/events/pax2011/story.html?sid=6330901&pid=640914&mode=previews).

→ So, basically, you'll have to shift dimensions to solve puzzles inside an whacky mansion in order to found your scientific Uncle!

*drools* Looks awesome! It looks like it combines Portal gameplay and Team Fortress 2 graphics. I'll definitely be downloading this when it's released.

Does this mean no Portal 3? *cries*

Considering that I'm pretty sure Valve made Portal 2 without her I'd say it shouldn't affect that. Still, you know about Valve and 3... :kz:

Regardless, coolio. Seems intriguing. :kz:

I bought portal 2 for my ps3 and just thought about the thing where I can play it on my computer. Turns out, my computer isnt supported! A macbook with horrible Intel X3100 graphics. If i watch a video, or do anything that makes the graphics card work, my macbook heats up and the fans get really loud. Im thinking of selling this & buying a MacBookPro with Nvidia, but idk if i can. =( im sad now, after waiting 2 days for it to download.2011-08-27 03:17:00
