So...What would you do?

:kz: If someone "famous" on LBP sent you a Friend-Request, would you Accept it? (Sorry for the short Thread, just got REALLY bored.) | 2011-08-25 04:00:00 Author: IronSkullKid99 Posts: 515 |
H*** Yeah! Who wouldn't? | 2011-08-25 04:24:00 Author: Unknown User |
define "famous" those people that make constume levels, free giveaways, bomb survivals, zombie survivals, and all that rubbish (then no) or people who actually make good levels? (then yes) | 2011-08-25 04:28:00 Author: sonofbrave Posts: 107 |
define "famous" those people that make constume levels, free giveaways, bomb survivals, zombie survivals, and all that rubbish (then no) I would. I'd send them my level keys in hopes they'd advertise my levels. Then people would see my awesome levels and then I'd be famous and I'd be able to randomly friend request unpopular people and make them famous! | 2011-08-25 04:36:00 Author: Chdonga Posts: 388 |
If we are discussing the right kind of "famous", then of course I would. My uncreative, uncharismatic persona has no hopes of ever hanging out with those visionary minds though all I can do is praise their work. | 2011-08-25 04:45:00 Author: SnipySev Posts: 2452 |
I'm not sure what "famous" is for sure on LBP... But I have gotten friend requests from well known and liked creators sometimes~ not tons or anything. and sometimes it's me making friends with them first~ *mew But if I did not meet them before they sent it... I would try to talk to them first before taking their request. | 2011-08-25 06:18:00 Author: Lord-Dreamerz Posts: 4261 |
Really I don't see the big deal, these "famous" people are regular Joes and Janes, like everyone else, heck most every "famous" person I've talked to, say they preffer not to be treated as such, but rather as regular people, so really, I say do them a favor and treat them regularly, I've seen so many times its preferable to act regularly than all fanboy/ fangirlish with the "famous ones". ...wait, what was the thread about again? :o | 2011-08-25 08:02:00 Author: Silverleon Posts: 6707 |
If I liked their levels, and they had a good reason for adding me (like maybe they wanted to co-create a level) then sure. If they want to add me just because they like my levels then I'd probably say no. I don't like having people who only add me because they think it's "cool". I prefer to have people on my list that I actually talk to/do stuff with, but I suppose as long as you're nice and don't ignore me when I try to join/talk to you, then I don't make it a problem. And I try to not bother my friends when I'm bored/trying to come up with ideas/working on something in real life, which is what i do a lot when I'm on LBP. But I've met some people where literally all they say is, "I leik your lvls", "I saw your music levels on youtube", "can you mkae me a song?", and we don't say or do anything else. Those people I just end up deleting. Honestly, I find it really pathetic when you add someone just because they are "famous" No matter what way you look at it, your intentions are simply selfish. Whether it's to "use" them to bring attention to yourself, or to cure your self-pity or boredom with feelings of significance. Anyone who does that should be ashamed of themselves. | 2011-08-25 08:30:00 Author: comishguy67 Posts: 849 |
I have the honoured position of not knowing one single famous creator, thus wouldn't be able to tell them from noob #9001. Even if I did though, I wouldn't add them. I use my friends list for people that I know and have had personal communication with from forums that I frequent. Being famous isn't a free pass. | 2011-08-25 18:53:00 Author: Vector-Espio-Fan Posts: 119 |
http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4139/4751032502_60095b6e50.jpg Just kidding. On a serious note, I don't generally accept random friend requests. But when I do, I make sure the person is kind hearted. I have a friend proclaimed "famous" because of his levels and owns himself a crown. I haven't played with him much though, mainly cause it's awkward to be away from PSN a few years and come back thinking all will be as it were. So would I accept "famous" people's friend request? Not unless they're friendly and have a good reason they want to be. | 2011-08-25 20:50:00 Author: Shadowstarkirby Posts: 205 |
:kz: (Crappy PS3 Browser...) By "famous," I mean anyone who has gain "Fame," either good level makers or those H4h'ing Bomb Survival scum. Example: If you recieved a Friend Request from poms, would you accept it? If you recieved a Friend Request from gamerway(Shiver) would you accept it? Here's the catch; If you said yes to either, you have to add the other one, too. Personally, I wouldn't. I mean, it would be nice to be Friended by an Idol, but having seen the Drama its caused(H4h, Profile Spam, Friend Request Spam, Talk behind back) I would have to Decline. I've even seen "Famous" people fight with each other. | 2011-08-25 22:24:00 Author: IronSkullKid99 Posts: 515 |
Most of the "famous" creators are famous for their awesome levels.. hopefully. I think it is really awesome that some of my favorite creators added me.. They are usually not as awesome as the naive community makes them seem.. which is unfortunate, but generally great artist are are rather bizarre people. The thing I like about it though, is that they sometimes show me their projects or levels before they are published.. Their levels inspire me to make something that will impress them.. If I do then I feel accomplished but out of the 5 Mm picked friends I have 1 has hearted me.. to me only that 1 truly thinks I'm a good creator.. but its a great challenge and learning experience. | 2011-08-25 22:59:00 Author: Dortr Posts: 548 |
I don't even know who is famous or not... I'd add them regardless, sometimes you can find the best people like that. | 2011-08-25 23:15:00 Author: Flame Dragon Posts: 312 |
Well, if poms sent me a friend request and i had to add gamerway.... I would do it, just not play with gamerway. EDIT: On second thought, nevermind, after all of the trouble he has caused (gamerway) | 2011-08-25 23:53:00 Author: StaticLinuxpro Posts: 482 |
of course | 2011-08-26 01:36:00 Author: zzmorg82 Posts: 948 |
I've even seen "Famous" people fight with each other. I have actually been somewhat of a mediator in an argument between two Mm-picked creators before, and by the end of it both of them sent me friend requests which I found to be quite surprising! I wouldn't normally accept such random requests though, but if I respect the person enough then I would most likely accept it. I do agree with the belief that if a "famous" person (who is famous for their amazing levels and talent) sends you a personalized friend request, then you have done something incredible to earn their respect. Of course, this doesn't apply to all "famous" creators, but being able to impress creators with such high standards is an accomplishment within itself. ^^ | 2011-08-26 05:09:00 Author: Qrii_Nakari Posts: 204 |
If a famous creator I've never met were to send me a friend request, I'd have to ask them "why?" I'd want to at least chat with them a little before I chose to add them. Even if it were someone like Poms, I wouldn't just automatically accept a random friend request. | 2011-08-26 12:12:00 Author: Timelord_X Posts: 55 |
If with "famous" you mean "I played their levels, liked them and wanna learn from them", then yeah! Having some folks on your list of which you know they have knowledge and experience (regardless of whether they are famous) is a great advantage if it leads to hanging out in Create mode occasionally, | 2011-08-26 13:19:00 Author: Antikris Posts: 1340 |
I've talked to a few famous people, and i have a couple of people on my friends list that may be considered "famous". Here's the tricky bit...the people you consider famous may not be people I've ever even heard of. I see people dropping names on this forum all the time, and I have no clue who they are. Popularity only extends as far as your circle of influence. With so many circles out there it is hard to be really considered universally famous. I don't see littlebigplanet creators as famous anyway. I just see some of them as people who are good at things that I also like to do. In that case, yes, I would probably accept and have. | 2011-08-27 00:51:00 Author: tdarb Posts: 689 |
