Three Years at LBPC

Archive: 24 posts

I unno if anyone cares, or if this obeys some rule or not, but whatever.

Anywho... Today is my third "Birthday" of sorts at LBPC. Kinda weird to think it's been three years since I signed up here but, well, it has been.

Things have changed so much in those three years, myself included. And, though I don't care too much about LBP anymore and only stay because of the fact this has become a part of my life over the course of the past three years... this has become a part of my life over the course of the past three years.

I really dunno what life would have been like these past three years if I didn't have LBPC. Maybe I'd actually have friends, and get out of my house more often. More likely I would just have been more depressed without some of haven I felt I belonged to, more or less. Whatever. No matter what life would have been like without LBPC, the fact is LBPC has been a part of my life for the past three years.

I've seen friends come and go, and then come again only to disappear a few short weeks later... I tried to write the ultimate love letter to you only to have the whole effort crash and burn into my own face... And I seem to have befriended a few 12 year olds throughout my years here (>_>)... but really, this place has been my home of sorts for three years now. I know no one else really would have been here the long, and many of the people I have very fond memories of no longer check here... But this place has been a part of me for all this time.

It's hard to believe that a series of random occurrences late one night three years ago would have lead me to writing a sappy love letter to a bunch of random strangers on the internet tonight... But, well, I guess I am. Because this site, throughout its many phases, has helped me cope with myself for all this time. Some of you know this more then others, but to everyone, thanks for just being here I guess and making the past three years good for me.

So yes. Thank you for reading my sappy essay. Would you want me to burn any of you alive? To keep with that whole evil thing? :kz:

At any rate... Thanks one more time, and /runs

*claps*

You make an awful big deal about how LBPC has changed you... but don't you know that LBPC wouldn't be nearly as great without you?

I remember the first time we really chatted... it was on a sore subject, and I was but an immature tween... I feel that this site has changed me for the better as well.

Anyways, happy birthday RAWK... I'll see If I can get CC of Deus EX long enough to make a banner for you, or SOMETHING.

As a fellow 08'er Rock (I shall celebrate my 3 year anniversary of-sorts on September 17th!) I completely agree with everything you said.
LBPC has definitely changed me, cheesy as that sounds, and for that I am incredibly grateful.

Without this site, I would have never met the dozens of friends that I have, and probably would have given up on LBP after creating a couple of terrible levels. LBPC inspired me to keep trying, a mantra which I still go by 3 years later.

Thank you LBPC!

Haha, I've only been on these forums for a few months so I haven't really known you that long, but still, it's pretty go********* obvious that you've contributed to the place. I especially wish you luck with creating games in the future; I hope you meet tons of awesome wannabe devs, learn loads, attend tons of RAWKin parties and generally move up in the industry. In another 3 years you'll probably look back and think "Woah, I was such a newb back then!". 2011-08-24 02:31:00

But you still owe me a single peanut from years ago ******.

I've decided to give up hope.

Anyway, I've only been here about a year and a bit but I've seen your contributions, opinions and evil antics throughout the site. It's true, LBPC really wouldn't be the same without you.

Oh, and that KH project? Good, pointless times!

I was on gamefaqs, someone posted a link to their LBP site. I wasn't too into LBP at the time, but decided to join his site only because he said to. Or something.

When I found out it wasn't active, so for no reason other then the fact I had already signed up to an LBP site, I googled for a bigger one and found this. And stayed here. For three years.

Always thought that was a weird way to begin.

And yes, it doesn't count :kz:

... I would hesitate to say that LBPC wouldn't be the same without me. I don't really make THAT much of a difference >_>. The biggest contribution I made was 20 months of hype rolled up into the biggest disappointment ever, but that's not something to celebrate. Not saying I'm useless or anything, merely saying LBPc wouldn't be THAT different without me

Also, Alex, Talbot... what peanuts? Why do I owe you stuff? For being noobs? Or did I promise one? Or are you just jelly? Wait. Jelly... Peanuts... YOU ANIMALS!

I also know what it's like to be a forum veteran (I've been a member of my oldest joined forum since May 2007). New faces come, old faces go. You go from being just a drop in the proverbial ocean to being one of the more notable names. It's almost certain that the forum you joined won't feel like the same forum even as little as a year down the line, because YOU won't feel like the same person after that same time span.

Congrats, anyway.

I've only been on this site for 2 years and not real active for most of it because I thought this site was getting a bit boring until Mid this year.

So congrats!

Wow Rawk! In the past 3 years you've...let me see...

1. Grown from the offspring of EVIL to become the most EVIL of LBPC warlords in LBPC history.
2. You made the word "Muahahaha" come to life--very difficult to achieve without the related sounds
3. You burned, an already burned victim, numerous times...and all because of a peanut--that's just horribly wrong .
4. You climbed the XP mountain, leaving Mods and members in your wake, and us all in fear of the quake of impending doom
5. You had a dream...several dreams in fact...and stepped outside the box to make them happen
6. Your banter was legendary in The First Group--which, btw, needs reviving...will you be The ONE?
7. You hit more threads and Profile pages than Mighty Casey at bat.
8. You evoked emotion
9. You made friends
10. And you put a very unique spin on this site, adding to it's flare and appeal

Maintain a positive perspective Rawk...and never stop trying. You are woven into the fabric of this site...forever interlaced with it's past and future. You are an ICON!

I also have some free Ad space for ICONIC legends...interested?

I won't deny that I had to do some effort to not shed a tear since I'm at work.
I need still some months to reach my 3rd year and I haven't been that active in the first period.

But yes, like I often said Central is my home.
Like every place in the World it may have its flaws, some tenants are not the best to hang out with, but the most of people here, especially the ones that kept true to theirselves, are just uncannily amazing.
After it's the people behind the posts and the levels that make things great.
Many doesn't even realize how just a simple smile/laugh/joke can be of support and make the days a little better.
I feel you Rawk.

And long live Central!!!
