Red Dead Redemption

Hey guys, sorry if this was brought up before, but i was wondering how many of you guys played this wonderful game?
In my opinion it's probably the best game to ever come out recently (along LBP of course!), i would say it's a masterpiece along the classic games, like Zelda and Mario.
The Story Missions were so good (the characters were awesome too!) that my first playthrought i just rushed throught everything because i wanted to see how the story kept going!
There are so many sidequests and they are well done, the random events break the mold once in a while, hunting the animals is very fun, especially hunting bears at night at Tall Trees, on foot, and did i mention that the graphics are AMAZING...?
Seriously, a bought an HD cable just for this game, it's that good.
The first time i played the game, i was hooked. I especially love how the ambience sounds are done, it's so cool when the wind becomes strong, you can hear it and then it start pouring rain!
The Multiplayer is also fun as hell, and it was the first game i ever bought the DLCs, just because i wanted to support Rockstar, and because it was worth the money, unlikely most money grabbing DLCs out there.
I had so many epic battles online, this game will forever be a masterpiece to me.
Also, the ending was amazing.

In my opinion, it's better than the Grand Theft Auto games, because you're in the wilderness, it's much more fun to explore around, instead of a city where every street looks the same and is boring.
If Grand Theft Auto 5 gets all the stuff from Red Dead Redemption, it will be amazing.

It was a fantastic game, but it did get repetitive at times. I recommend getting in a posse with a small group of friends, going up to a small log cabin in Tall Trees with only one door, and inviting random people into your posse so that they teleport to you. Then have everyone in your posse aim shotguns at the door and welcome the unsuspecting newcomer with an array of bullets. The best part is that sometimes the random player will peek through the window before going in the door, and for whatever reason will walk in anyways. Good times...2011-08-24 16:54:00

The ending is either a love it or hate it. Whilst it did make sense. I didn't feel right.2011-08-28 22:09:00

I liked it, it was a massive shock. I was close to crying (the first time a game has ever done so, for me).

Anybody else put loads of bullets into the guy for the last story mission? (The mission where, once completed, "Red Dead Redemption" pops up on the screen.)2011-08-29 15:24:00

I remember I did. All of my revolver's bullets emptied right in his face. Oh, I hate him sso much. I never cared for a videogame character as much as I did for John Marston.

I still haven't gotten this one. What is wrong with me. I want it too. I have too many games sitting over there on the shelf that I haven't even opened (thanks LBP) and Rage comes out in October, what to do, what to do. I could probably pick up RDR for around $20 bucks now.2011-08-29 20:36:00

This.

To me, his character was perfect. The whole outlaw redemption thing was brilliant writing, better than most movies and tv shows today.

If you have an Xbox 360 get RDR for that. The online play is a lot better (almost always full sessions) and the graphics are better. Trust me. I have this game on both the Xbox and PS3.

Red Dead Redemption is pretty good on multiplayer. The ability to roam through lands hunting bears or creatures, it's quite the experience. Plus its by Rockstar, the same company that has made many famous games. Plus the thrill of running from angry players is quite tense. Overall its a pretty good game. 2011-08-30 19:13:00

I have a 360 but rarely play it. I picked up Fable just to have an excuse to turn the dang thing on. Plus, I'm not paying for Xbox live, not happening. I'll get it for the ps3. speaking of which, since you prefer the 360 version over the ps3 version and you happen to have a ps3 version and I'd want the ps3 version yet don't have one yet, you see what I'm getting at? That right! Can you tell me where you bought your ps3 version? LOL, got ya.
