Checkpoints and Sackbots.

n one of my levels I have four Sackbots, one for each player and four spawn gates. My level is set to versus mode which allows all the players to spawn randomly if they should die. How would I set it up so that if that player died, it would spawn the corresponding Sackbot for that player at the checkpoint where the player spawns? Thanks!!!2011-08-23 14:26:00

Place a Tag on each sackbot's microchip to uniquely identify it (named Sackbot#1, #2, etc). Then have a logic on each of your spawn gates that has a Tag Sensor set to a large enough range to encompass your playing area (5,000 will cover the entire level from corner to corner, but if you are using dynamic emitters, that won't work for you. anyway...). Set the Tag Sensors to look for the corresponding tag and invert the output , so when there is no sackbot detected, it will spawn anew.

Hope that made sense and that it helps. I am just finishing up a 4 player versus level (my first) and have learned a bunch of new stuff (with some great help from comphermc and Morgana25), so let me know if you have other questions.

You can also you a play sensor or a randomizer to make it random where the player will, spawn if that is what you want.2011-08-23 16:58:00
