Movie Camera cutscene doesn't stop after last shot
Archive: 7 posts
I've made a cutscene via a Game Camera that is triggered by a player sensor. I have the sequencer cut to end at the same time the last shot ends, but when I test it out in both Create and Play Mode, it lingers on the last shot and stays there indefinitely, even after the shot is supposed to end. Is this a common issue with the player sensor, camera, or sequencer that can be fixed? | 2011-08-22 06:12:00 Author: Behonkiss Posts: 229 |
Are you certain it's a game camera? I know of this behavior with movie cams, but not game cams (bit it may be this way for both). The sequencer method disables the hold option on the movie cams, so whatever the last shot was will stay until the camera's destroyed or another camera is employed. The method I like best is to do a cross fade to camera with Track Player = Yes and Disable Controllers = No. This basically behaves as a game camera (and in fact defaults to whatever game camera view is currently active, if any). So a short cross fade to this set-up gives a very smooth segue. Hope this helps! | 2011-08-22 06:19:00 Author: v0rtex Posts: 1878 |
Whoops, I'm sorry. I meant Movie Camera, because that's what it is. Is there a way to fix the problem for those? | 2011-08-22 06:24:00 Author: Behonkiss Posts: 229 |
Not really. I don't think it's even considered a problem / bug. You just have to understand that they behave this way and work around it. Try the technique I described above, it works pretty well. | 2011-08-22 06:39:00 Author: v0rtex Posts: 1878 |
So you have a movie camera on a sequencer? If your camera ends exactly where the sequencer ends it will stay on that shot forever. To recify this, lengthen the sequencer by one increment and that will disable the movie camera when you want it to. | 2011-08-22 15:42:00 Author: Xaif Posts: 365 |

Hehe - Yeah... this too (silly me). | 2011-08-22 20:15:00 Author: v0rtex Posts: 1878 |
Yeah, that seems to have been the problem. Works fine now. | 2011-08-23 04:04:00 Author: Behonkiss Posts: 229 |
