How do I make falling platforms?

Remember those platforms from "Where in the World is Avalon Centrifuge?" The ones where when you grapple the bottom, they fall down so you can walk across them? How can I make those?

Have a grab switch, have that activate a mover, have an anti gravity tweeker with full dampining set to a tag sensor with the tag beong where you want it to stop. That should work, mesage me if it does. (I just thought of this without testing it ).2011-08-20 23:25:00

An invisible piston set to "direction" could move it. set a grab switch to activate a one shot switch that activates the piston2011-08-21 01:54:00

What I ended up doing was gluing what was on the middle layer to a piece of glass which was on the thin layer between the middle and the back. I then set the piece of glass on a track. I attached some dissolve material to the ceiling and put some strings and gyroscopes on my platforms. When you grapple the bottom of the platform, the strings disappear and the platforms fall down, allowing you to walk across. 2011-08-21 03:53:00

You can also set green dissolve material.2011-08-21 17:14:00

Ok here is my ideas! do a selector. Wire a not gate to override 1 and override 1 to and gate 1. Wire a grab sensor to an or gate which wires to selector override 2, which wires to and gate 2. Then make a holo-tag where the platform is highest and lowest. Wire an impact sensor of the highest tag to and gate 1 and an impact semsor of the lowest tag to and gate 2 and or gate 1. Wire and gate 1 to an up mover and wire and gate 2 to down mover. Hope this helped

This MIGHT work

1) New Chip
2)Anti-Grav tweaker on chip - anti-grav set to 100 dampening to 100
3)Grab switch on chip (Invert output)
4)Wire Grab Switch to tweaker
5)Close chip & paste onto all platforms you wish to make fall
6)Test and re-tweak as desired. Your done.

Hope that helps you! (please bear in mind I said MIGHT work, just a hunch)

In addition to this, if you want the platform to fall when walked on just replace the Grab switch with a player sensor, again invert it's output and adjust range accordingly. I'm sure this has been said many times before though, but it may save another search.

Upon yet more reflection of the problem I realised that it may well be an impact sensor that is used (and not grab switch?) so that it triggers on the grapple hooks impact, can someone confirm this?
