I'm officially addicted. -_-

Archive: 26 posts

so i'm currently on vacation(or away from the home) I've been away for only two days already and yet im already on a LBP2 withdrawal. All i've been thinking about, is logic, logic, and more logic!! Everytime a door opens i think, "hmmm you just use pistons for that." or when I think about a car moving, i say "motor bolts." That isn't good, i shouldn't be thinking about AND gates and NOT gates. It's really annoying, and i'm not really enjoying my vacation(away from home...) sittin around being bored out my mind.
I sit around and play LBP2 ALL DAY! but hopefully when school starts back up i should calm donw on my addiction.
So...any of you guys addicted to LBP? =)

I never get addicted to anything, I get bored WAY too easily, haha. But it also means that find it hard concentrating on a project. And going cold turkey generally isn't the best option for someone who's "addicted" to something, but this doesn't seem like an addiction, I think you've just fallen in love with LBP. xD You'll lose interest eventually.2011-08-20 03:13:00

You need to attend some LBPholics Anonymous sessions...

...at least until LBP Vita comes out. Then you can satisfy your addiction anywhere, anytime

I have the same thing.

Even when I'm watching T.V., I'm thinking "A bunch of pictures posted on holograms and being cycled through a- SILENCE BRAIN!"

I had the exact same thing when I spent hours playing Portal 2 when it was first released.
I'd see a white wall and my first thought would be "I can put a Portal there!"

I doubt it's healthy..

I always try to think of ways to make certain real-world objects in LBP as well. It's weird, but kinda awesome that my brain defaults to videogame logic 2011-08-21 22:42:00

lol i know what cha mean, its not a game, its almost a lifestyle
me and my family were waching a comedian on nexflix, and there was a sculpture in the back... but the center had little spikes stiking out in the center, makeing the circle shape all wierd. my dad noticed i wasn't laughing and asked me what was wrong.
"pause the comedian dad" i said.
he paused.
i then walked up to the screen and pointed out the sculpture.
"i want to take my popit out, take the circle shape, and press triangle to make that a normal circle hole."
i then sat back down.
my parents laughed.
until they relised i was serious.
xD

One word: medication.

You'll get bored real quickly if you like LBP that much so don't worry.

I still do that, but in a joking way. I'll be with a friend or family member at home and I would say to them: "Hey, can you R1 the T.V. remote for me". And the "adding LBP logic to real life situations" thing, I do that all the time! 2011-08-22 05:46:00

I am an LBP2 addict myself so I know how you feel. There is just so much you can do in the game. I go through withdrawals while at work. I can't wait for the Vita version, that way I can play LBP on the go. 2011-08-22 15:49:00

Hmmm, I'm the opposite ATM. I was pretty addicted, playing every day, but then rl got hectic for a bit and I was away for a while and now I'm finding it hard to get back into it!

I've always had a thing for editors so I've no doubt I will get back into it, but the way it is right now is if I've only an hr to spare I think meh it's not enough time to get much done so I don't log in.... :s

I got tired of LBP1 after awhile but as soon as LBP2 was announced I was already hooked. Watching all the beta videos and such. I never call it a game either. I say LBP2 is "A social network full of artists, music writers and programmers." I think that describes it much more than just a video game. Also LBP Vita does look awesome and I can not wait to get it. The Vita in general looks awesome, like an actually good PSP, so the fact that LBP has its own version specifically for it just makes me ecstatic 2011-08-22 22:01:00

On a scale of 0-10, 10 being 'I'd die without LBP', I'm probably a 7. I rarely play other games since I can just create them in LPB and call them my own.

BTW...

Why create a beach when you can create an universe
... got me thinking...

Next project: Recreate the universe. If successful, well, you'll know.... my name should be written on the moon...

I wouldn't say I'm addicted, but I do think about it quite a lot while not playing. I was due to release a level last week but after hearing about the sticker material I know now how I can make it miles better - an idea I originally had for the level but couldn't achieve it due to some limitations in LBP. So I'm waiting for the Move pack. And in the meantime I'm playing through Xenoblade, as I live in the UK lol.2011-08-23 13:45:00

I'm must say I'm pretty addicted.

Barely touched create mode in LBP 1, but I'm quite addicted to it in this game. I do play plenty of other stuff too, which means it usually takes me quite a few weeks to complete a level. After my previous levels bombed, I keep saying to myself "right, that's it.... no more!", but in the end I just can't help myself. As soon as and idea pops into my head, I want to go out and try it. After this level, I still have quite a few ideas that I could work on, in theory.

A sequel to Water Temple?

Unfortunately not. I have made a lot of progress in the sequel though. This one's totally unrelated, a 4p racing game, but not very conventional. I stole the idea from the Gamecube's WarioWare ha.

Well, I have been on holiday lately, and I must admit I did start thinking about LBP a bit more. I didn't really think about things like relating real life to LBP programming, but I think the worst I did is just think about how I could improve levels and objects I made and future creations I may make, and basically just getting inspired occasionally by my surroundings. Is that good or bad?

And besides, if you really can't get your head around LBP, you can just bail out all your ideas using a pencil and paper, to just store your ideas there temporarily. I did it while in France, I just bought a notepad and did some sketching. You don't always need a console game to destrain your imagination, you know.
