Just years of practice. For as long as I remember I would doodle on just about anything that was paper. Just keep up at it and you'll get better.

Oh nevermind then, I said this because she looks quite shy and her hairstyle somehow reminded me of her.
Anyway, great job! Your drawings are splendid!

Yeah I know. People tell me that I just need to draw more, but I draw once in a blue moon. I barely draw. I'm better at copying other cartoons and drawing stuff from my own imagination, but when I draw people. They either come out looking deformed or like a lifeless doll. Humans are my weakness I guess you could say (Ha!). What would you say is yours?

Anything not human honestly. I'm horrid with trees, animals, vehicles, and such. Though I can do buildings and rooms somewhat.

As for copying, if you mean tracing then that is a big no in my book, but just using something as a reference (as I do myself, since I'm not very good at poses) is a good start.

This is an example of something I used a reference to draw, looks alot better than my "straight from the head" drawings doesnt it? It helps to improve skills such as posing, shading, lighting, etc.

Tracing? Nah that takes NO skill. What I do I just print a picture or look at a picture on a screen and then I draw it. That's what I mean by copying. Really nice drawings btw What I actually did once was I drew a notebook on my lap and my hand in my drawing drawing a note book in my lap. I only did two layers. Got lazy ANYWAY, yes, I really like your drawings. You have talent!! Really nice shading too I'm.....meh at it 2011-08-25 03:58:00

I rarely colour, I used to use color pencils, but it was always a real pain to carry them around (and they werent cheap either) so I use a program on my laptop to do it. Sadly, I don't have a tablet, so it's more troublesome to try and colour things, but I do try and practice with it occasionaly. The porgram isn't all that good either...

Thanks though, looking into possibly selling my art or doing comissions, so I've been trying to advertise in the hopes people may check out my DeviantArt account. But just hearing a 'great job' makes me smile

Yeah, I think it'd be a good idea if you took a shot at selling it. Because you without a doubt have talent
Sorry about the annoying color thing lol. I still color sometimes, but I hate the outcome It looks gritty.
Well, it is an awesome picture, I really love how you made the shadows too.

"Give a man a mask, and he will take off his own."

A mysterious traveler who cannot be found when searched for, but is always there when needed. He is fond of giving people masks, and it is said that receiving one brings good luck. It is told that when he does not smile you must be cautious, and that his frown is a bad omen. In any case of encountering him the sound of chimes and distant bells are always heard.

...Oddly enough, he is never seen wearing a mask.

Actually, the large majority of it is concept art for actual games I want to make, the curators are for some levels I'm working on in passing (I wouldnt hold my breath for anything, they probably won't ever get finished) and are actually my personas.

Looking to get a job at Mm currently, they seem to hire people with no experience in the industry... I want to be a concept artist and storyboard writer.

And I really doubt I'll finish the levels, I've tried to make a level series about three times so far, and every time I stop about halfway thru and scrap what I've done (anyone who's heard of Arcaius Rising can probably attest to that), this is the first attempt on LBP2 though.

And some new art:

Crypton Vocaloids!

Vocal-wise the only one of Crypton's I really like is Meiko. (Hm Vocaloids - that reminds me, I must get round to drawing Iroha Nekomura sometime, that crazy kitty helmet is calling me).

Drawing-wise, those all seem high quality, although I don't really do any Manga myself. n.n

n‿n I am afraid I don't choose my drawing style by whats most popular - although I can see why lots of people like doing this. I don't partly through laziness, the main style of Manga is quite specific, and I find it boring to learn and more difficult to express with. Its because although its in the cartoon genre, it focuses a lot on details and not so much on expressions, which is what I look at most in cartoony stuff. x3 So I prefer to study from realism then perhaps adapt it with a mixture of different cartoon styles. It would be fun to try out more comic-esq things... If I do fan-art of something from manga or anime, then I do it in that style though.

You should find pride in that! When I like something, I make it a point to read up all the history and sorts, I could give you a brief history of video games if I was so inclined! I quite love the Vocaloids, not just their singing, I also love the fact that a lot of their music is done by your average Joe. I really hate modern "mainstream" music, nothing comes from the heart anymore, now it's just people being paid to sing something, or paying someone to write their music, or Lady Gaga dressing in some obscene outfit and spouting random gibberish.

I love all of the Vocaloids, honestly the only ones I think don't sound very good are the english ones, but even so, when an expert uses them they sound quite excellent. As for my favorite Crypton, it has to be Miku, not just because she's the most popular, but her voice is very soothing to me, her and Rin in a duet also sounds wonderful. Kaito has to be my next favorite, he's got good sounding vocals when someone knows what their doing. And thanks, I've been drawing for as long as I can remember, as for the style, it kind of is manga, I just draw like that because its what I find the most visually pleasing, so I draw what I would want to look at.

There was one really crazy (not sure if anything in it was linear at all even) manga done by the guy who did the box art for them (Kei), and well, I can't really, I've tried on a few occasions to draw a full manga, I just can't seem to sit down and finish it, quite like my levels on LBP... Someone once told me I should do an anime, I would go insane drawing something frame by frame. I have some short comics called Robot Bob, though I only did three of them and doubt I'll do more, and a while back I had Larry & Brutus, which wasn't much of a comic, though I'd really like to bring them back someday...

Thanks for all the feedback everyone!

True. Although, I'm not exactly sure the usual "kaiwii pop song" Vocaloids sing are considered better. Hip-pop strives on gibberish, but Japanese pop strives of cuteness.

Also, whenever I do listen to Miku, it's usually for her "darker" songs:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7iT5BFGQ4YE&list=UUiTtAad_cPHVeij3BrvRZsw&index=138&feature=plpp_video

That ending. <3

IMO, pop songs' lyrics usually play around the idea of "I love you. Let's be happy and have fun!", whereas her darker songs are better written because the artists behind the songs focus more on the story or them of their song, and they tend to make their verses have more meaning (which can be interpreted in many ways, not just one).

But back on topic: nice drawings! Did you smear the picture, though, or did you do that on purpose? Using a piece a paper usually helps avoiding smears (yes people say this all the time, but it works).

I listen to the pop, dark, jazzy, well, all of it really, my favorite song (not just Vocaloid, it's my favorite song) is Last Night, Good Night. I do tend to lean towards the more crazy, lots of stuff going on songs, and when Miku sings really fast... On the subject of kawaii-ness, I love kawaii things, the cuter the better! Seeing cute things always brings a smile to my face, and cute music has a similar effect.

I always smear to get shadows and such, as a result I usually get some light smears around the characters as well. The pictures look really light when I scan them, so I use the gamma function on my editor to darken them, and it usually makes the picture look completely off, so I have to do a bit of editing to get it to look good.

I wanted to colour these, so I started, but only got one done tonight, so... Hatsune Miku GO!

Miku miku miku. So much Miku everywhere. I am scared. :'3 I personally prefer her cutsy simple songs, I think thats what her voice suits best. Anyway, I agree any vocaloid can sound amazing when done by some users.

AI and Yuzuki are my favourites of the V3s thus far.
I might as well join the party and add a few of my favourite vocaloid songs...(Originals by Gumi and MEIKO.)

Okay, I know I said I prefer her darker songs over the pop ones, but I deny it much longer: I love that song. A lot. It's one of the best songs I've heard form them (Rin and Miku), and I tend to listen to their pop songs once in a while.

On-Topic: I never liked mangoes. I prefer to read books instead because they require a good amount of imagination and attention span. Anime is probably the closest thing to Japanase entertainment that I have enjoyed (besides some of their music), but I hardly watch them anymore.

I have a large musical pallet, I usually listen to Vocaloid music and video game soundtracks however (Grant Kirkhope and Koji Kondo are my musical heroes). Though I do love classical music, and a few older songs.

My favorite song:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6hlADpxjj0s
The Rin/Miku song I was refering to:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=seOFAe9pePw
Second favorite song:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VoPzP-MwcLI
I love choruses as well:

As for manga, I read some, but I do like books too, like Cyber said, they let the imagination run wild. I used to watch anime (Code Geass is my favorite) but I rarely watch anything nowadays... The Japanese culture in general interests me, as do a few other cultures, I like learning about different places, but Japan in particular I really like.

Instead I have concept art of some of my own characters that I had previously hit the wall with.

I see that you're still a master artist.
About the Spider-Man, the coloring looks excellent, I just think that his suit and hands need a bit more detail like wrinkles and shadows if that's possible. Other than that it looks fantastic.

As what Sackgirlsrule said, the Spiderman drawing has great coloring, but the hands can use better adjustments. Also, the red dot between his eyes makes his head look unfinished. The Spiderman drawing is still awesome, though. The rest of your drawing are great. I really enjoyed your anime-style hand drawings. Looking forward to see you do more.2012-03-31 19:29:00

Their not that similar... are they?

• anime style individuals
• long hair
• pale eyes
• bangs
• similar faces
• lavender

You definitely struck the 'coincidence' factor well.

• anime style individuals - It is a common melting pot.
• long hair - I do believe my character has the longer hair.
• pale eyes - You got me there...
• bangs - It's a rather common hairstyle, I could list a few characters with it.
• similar faces - Hinata's nose is higher, actually.
• lavender -It's my second favorite colour and it suits her character.

You definitely struck the 'coincidence' factor well.

I would be lying if I said I wasn't influenced at all, there are a few similarities, but I've been working to change her design some to lessen it visually. I'm still trying to get the outfit just right...

In all honesty, if you just make the skirt a bit more obvious (maybe longer or a different color since this is currently b/w) then it wouldn't be much of a problem.
