QR Code Encrypter/Decrypter, Encrypted Save data creator

Archive: 12 posts

So basically a QR Code generator for creating save data, im almost finish w/ it and it works fine, u get a 20-Digit Numerical when decrypted and thats the data that manipulates the current settings of the level, encrypted you get an 8X8 QR Code, And honestly its a great idea for creating secure save data so people cant easily manipulate it to get highscore saves or what not, considering there are about 9 999 999 999 999 999 999 possiblities of combos, So main reason i write is to ask does anyone care to use this 4 their levels or even find this cool? BTW thermo it takes up is EXTREMELY LOW, about 1 increment of the thermo2011-08-17 00:10:00

This intrigues me...

Do you think you could publish a demonstration level? (Preferably 2...)

...And may I ask, how did you go about building it? (What system of reading/creating?)

well its based on powers of 2, i guess thats binary?, soo anyways theres 64 squares in the 8x8, each square has a value starting as low as 2^0 up to 2^63, so you got 1, 2, 4 ,8 ,16, 32, 64,128,256,512,1024 2048,4096,8192 etc. so depending on how u combine the bits, you can get literally everynumber above 1, and i guess including zero but i just assume that means theres no code haha, so anyways i made a 20digit counter, (made using selectors, unless some one has a tutorial i can always show how to make a counter as big as you want it to be) so lets say on the entire QR code only 2048, 2, 32, are on, the total value will be 2082, so the decoder gets that value of 2082 by checking which bits are on from highest to lowest and adds that value to the counter, now lets say u only have the value 2082 and want to encrypt it (save it) the Encoder part will take the highest possible value, turn its bit on on the QR code display, and subtract that value, itll continue this untill the value is zero, this might be confusing but i hope i made it understandable, if im dedicated i could be finished by tomorrow and create a small 8-bit like level the uses the QR code to load a save.

my question is how does one go about keeping said code, then entering it in when they return to the level?
do players just take a picture then place the sticker beside an input device where the player would then have to make it match the pic?

Yeah thats the main idea :3 players wnt take picture tho, it'll do it on its own n u'll automatically have it

WELLL UNLUCKILY MY PS3 BIT THE DUST :/ the infamous yellow light took it to the other side leaving me with a very cool paper weight, anyways before it died and ultimately trapped lbp2 in its jaws i was close to finishing it and getting ready to make a demonstration, when i get it repaired though ill continue working on it so itll be a long wait for those who are interested, oh and i found a new way of handling decryption, it just came to me while i was thinking, so i could possibly rebuild it to have 4 cores handiling decryption and that will ultimately cut down load time from about a minute to about 15 seconds : D2011-08-20 01:47:00

Ah... Same thing happened to me.

Luckily, by replacing the thermal paste inside, I got it back in working order

Yep, Cvb, it was about a two hour procedure for me but if you get the time, replace the thermal compund that more than likely dried up. You can find a tutorial on youtube on how to fix it. Also, you can get your disc out of the tray without fixing it, switch the system off, then hold the eject down, then while still holding it down, switch it back on. You'll hear a super loud fan. Then if it doesnt come out right then, repeatedly tap the eject button until it does. When it does, its safe to switch off again.2011-08-20 15:53:00

I have an original 80GB FAT Model so there is no fan test on it .... and also you only replaced the compound? that's it? no heat gun re-soldering crap? amazing O_O lol
