Alright, I've been thinking: would it make more sense to get rid of the two LittleBigPlanet and LittleBigPlanet Community sections and replace it with Play, Create, and Share sections instead? The actual forums would remain intact, but they would be rearranged into the category (Play, Create, or Share) that fits them best. We might also see some new forum additions due to the change, depending on if we need it or not. I've been bouncing this idea back and forth for a while, and I'll list the upsides and downsides that I can see from moving to this setup. I want your opinion, so please leave your thoughts so we can make a decision that's best for everyone. Pros More coherent layout More specific forums More future forum possibilities Subforums (such as the Review Center, which was moved due to the new "Recommend a Level" forum) would be actual forums Cons Very clich? Could make the forum look more cluttered Would lengthen the page Could become "too much" for some Like I mentioned, please provide your opinion on this so we can make a decision together. I'm really interested in what you guys think, so don't forget to share your ideas.

I like the whole Play Create Share thing, clich? as it is, it's still fun. That being said, what I like MOST about this forum is the ease of use. The structure, the way to find things, etc. So my opinion is to keep it as is (of course keeping it evolving, but within this structure). There's a reason so many members of the community have flocked here and I'd bet it's in great part because of that ease of use. Adding clutter would be off-putting. I get where the idea comes from, like I said, I like those catch-words, but this forum has it's own personality if you will, it doesn't have to match so precicely the LBP world.

For some people (including you and I), subforums are great ways of organizing forums for easy and logical access. However, for most people, subforums are off-putting and confusing. They tend to create a more hectic forum; without them, we're forced to prune where needed instead of endlessly adding new forums. It's a good thing, I promise. Could you perhaps give us an example of how the forums would look if you changed them? Like in the Play section would be this part here renamed to this, while the create section would have... I hope that makes sense. I just want to see what you might have in mind. At the moment everything kind of makes sense, but it would be helpful to see a prototype setup of the new listing before you implement it.

I don't know how I feel about this really. The whole Play, Create, Share thing will look cool and fit into the LBP world better. But I'm so used to how everything is structured now and I don't like change But really, I mainly just click 'New Posts' and don't go into the main page all that often. Only if I'm trying to find something specific (but then I just use the 'Search' button anyway) So I'm easy either way really

Ah man, I've thinking about it for a few minutes now and nothing comes to mind. I like the way they are, when I do need to find something specific, I look up the Section Titles and I find it pretty easily. Otherwise I usually just use the New Posts link as well. Maybe a quick visual example of what it might look like with Play Create Share like Elbee23 suggested would help us see what you have in mind and might help me give you more specific opinions

First thought: What about the other stuff? Art & designs (could be in the showcase section?) General Gaming, General, Forum Games... Where would those fit in is the first question that pops to my mind.

The General Chat, Artwork, etc would all stay the same.

And the preview cleared alot up too. I thought it was going to be an even more major change, as in just Play Creat and Share sections, nothing more at first. So I'm actually ok with this. Besides, seriously, everytime you've made changes, even the few times it didn't work at first, it ended up being for the better in the long run. I mean compare the forum now to when I joined, it's quite a bit different, and good! So I say go for it. Enjoy the restructuring Also I kinda like the titles: Getting Down to Basics Creative Juices Sharing the Fun Gives it a bit more of a hip sound

While I do believe that the "Play, Create, Share" definitely stays true to the spirit of the game, it would undoubtedly make the forums a bit more sporadic.

I actually like this idea. It looks "less-cluttered" and I know alot of people here don't even click on the forum link on the home page. I, for one just click New Posts. By the way, I think you should open up a poll.

From my experience on boards, the full board menu on a front page is the way to go. Splitting a forum up into a handful of main forums with 3 or 4 sub-forums apiece generally divides the user base - spreading it out and making it feel like it's all a single board and community fosters more interaction between the largest possible majority of members. Depending on the site, that can foster individual communities as long as traffic is constant for years and years through ad revenue and attention getting material etc. ie: general news and discussion for a universally popular topic. ...but for something that will ultimately be a hardcore niche in the long run such as LBP, as games come and go, divisiveness will result major forum sections housing 5 to 10 regular posters... and eventually 5... eventually 2... and eventually none. You gotta keep them all in the melting pot, and keep stirring. I like the layout as is, but any organization that isn't a front page tree system for the forums is more than welcome - like the new recommendation block.
