Trial of the Goddess

Hope you guys check out my level.

This is based from the Islands theme from LBP1 (my favorite LBP1 level) that will make the level feel a bit "oriental". It has some varying platforming sections with a moderate-to-high difficulty (the level is completely aceable though).

This was actually my first level, but I took it down as it had numerous bugs and glitches on both LBP1 and LBP2. Not only that, but some parts were also broken which makes it unplayable. Now, it is fixed for both LBP1 and LBP2, and so far, I've seen no bugs or glitches.

There were also some major changes both in content and design of the level.

As for the level, it has 3 endings in which your decision affects which one you get. Hope you try them out.

As always, feedbacks of any kind are greatly appreciated.

Will return the favor in the form of F4F which can be a level in LBP1 or LBP2. Also, I will feedback as long as I can.

Having played your level, my first impression was...mm objects. But this dissapated as I progressed and realized you made them your own, and combined them with custom enviorments. I understand that it is supposed to be the islands stuff and it was your first level. Just on instinct, seeing large amounts of non custom objects in succession lowers my expectations on a level. Heck, I'm guilty of having used them in my first level as well. Anyway enough of that.
Gameplaywise, this was a simple yet satisfying level. Of course my favrite part was the three possible storylines you can follow. The evil path was particualrly fun to play.
Everything was nicely decorated and there was a good flow to the level. It sure beats the hell out of my first level.

Thank you for checking it out.

As this was my first level, I was overwhelmed by the options/possibilities so I tried to play safe and stick to a theme I'm familiar with (and the one I really liked), so I basically went for the Islands theme. Now it has tons of MM objects because of it, but I tried to change that after the branching of the paths. When I created the hell version, I didn't use any more of the MM objects (at least that's what I remember) and I hoped it got some more originality there.

Well anyways, thanks again for your feedback, greatly appreciate and I'll definitely follow your suggestion of using less MM objects and create them myself.

I'll go ahead and check out your level.

Thanks for checking it out, guys.

And as according to Sport dude's feedback on the level, I increased the lighting in the dark areas so you'll know where to go.

just played it. was good i enjoyed it. i can't think of anything negative to say. i seen a couple people monaing about using MM objects...but who cares!! i mean they are there for you to use so why the hell not. yes making your own stuff adds authenticity to your level but still i dont see a problem in using the MM objects. anyway...was a good level and i particularly enjoyed the burnt out area. the music you chose always makes me laugh...its really suited for a indiana jones level! which SOMEONE REALLY NEEDS TO DO ALREADY!2011-08-19 12:24:00

Just played your level, it's really great! I especially liked the 3 paths at the end. Ofcourse I liked the hell path the most, more points!

Can't really think of anything that needs improvement. Also about the MM objects, while the level may have been even better with more custom made objects they didn't really feel out of place anywhere so I don't see a problem using them this way.

As for F4F, I'd like it if you could try out my level and leave some feedback. The Secret Temple of Elements (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=61708-The-Secret-Temple-of-Elements)

Thanks for the review on my level. I just played your level. It was fun, looked pretty good but I'm not sure if you used The Islands template or not. I liked the fact that it got multiple endings, played it twice just to see how the other ending was like. Got a little disappointed though. I was hoping for some sort of platforming when you choose to go to heaven. Regardless it was a good level and I gave it a ''Yay!'' 2011-08-20 12:18:00

I played it and loved it.

Despite the obviousness of it being an LBP1 level it still amazed. It had great visuals and it had a set theme the whole way. I liked the solid platforming of the level it was fun and easy to play. It had a great flow to it, I wouldnt be able to tell if it was LBP1 or 2 if you hadnt said.

You could have made it more obvious which was heaven with oni or hell. I ran in where it said "over here" I though you had to press the button to go to heaven but I was wrong.

Still hell was also a great experience too.

Overall it is a fabulous level worthy of the great reviews its getting.

I finally had an opportunity to revisit this level last night and was very impressed by the improvements you've made. Evidence of the Island Template is mostly undone with the white rectangular column areas being the only ones that really betray their origin. The use of grabbable rollers also references the original theme while improving upon the challenge. You've done well upgrading this from a first level to a full-fledged platformer that can stand beside your other stages.

During the ascending green rollers segment I found myself wishing that the camera was zoomed out a bit in order to increase the player's view of the area above. Generally the screen is dominated by the roller on which Sackboy is riding rather than his destination. It would be nice to more readily see where he's going. The two rollers framed by burning smashers also present a minor nuisance in waiting for everything to align so you can fling into the next room, but I thought that was fun enough to stand as it is.

As I recall, there's still another ending I haven't seen. I'll have to run it again one of these days. It's a pretty good trick to keep people coming back for alternate endings!

Thanks for the feedback on Caverns of the Lost level. Well spotted glitch there. I've quoted the poster above as I had the same problem with the green rollers and the camera view. I eventually got it. But got squished several times, more then I should have.

Also the part with the tilting small platofrms, I felt were a bit too small at times since sackpeople can slide off, especially if playing with other sack people. But it's not a major problem and adds to the difficulty and challenge I guess.

However, you're level is so well designed it it almost looks like story mode in LBP1. That is an acheievement in itself. I particulary liked the cheeky comments and dialogue from the score bubbles. I'm yet to try the other endings. But it definitely has replay value. Yayed and hearted by me.

Thanks alot for the feedback guys. Greatly appreciated.

As for the camera issue, thanks for pointing them out. I'll try to adjust them so you can see where your headed rather than where you are (as you guys suggested).

This level is simply incredible! This is proof that you don't need the fancy logic of LBP2 to make a level of this caliber. Having 3 possible endings ensures replayability. Hope to see more from you in the future. In the meantime, I'll definitely check out your other levels.

Please try my level Asteroids!!! It's a 1-4 player asteroids style survival shooter.
