Layer changing while holding an object

| I have been working on a level for awhile and I have a sackbot which is holding a thing layer gun infront of him on invisible material and is on a follower which stays on the bot no matter what but when ever i change layer i can only go the direction which the gun isnt in front of. i made it so the follower can change layer and ive even tried using a layer mover but it wont move to a front layer just stays in the middle or goes to the back and never returns. Please give me some tips or just some ideas to get things moving again for my level as this is my first hickup I cant solve. | 2011-08-16 08:55:00 Author: Unknown User  |
| A setup like this may be your best bet: http://i9.lbp.me/img/ft/b590e87d8c330bb73dc43d37fe67121f61ee3d6d.jpg The controlinator on the block of wood's microchip is set to receive the same signal as the one that controls the sackbot. When you go to move the sackbot back a layer, the top in/out mover on the wood moves it "in once." And when you make the sackbot come forward a layer, the bottom in/out mover moves the wood "out once." The follower on the wood has "allow in/out movement" set to "no" by the way. | Another option would be to make the gun out of walk-through-walls material, which would prevent it from blocking the Sackbot's layer changes at all. Using this as well as a follower that can change layers would also make it follow the sackbot through automatic layer changes not caused by moving the joystick. | 2011-08-16 20:49:00 Author: Blue Helmet  Posts: 306 |
