Is there a need for non-physical powerup stations?

I'm making a level atm, and this would be very handy.
Or even an option to activate them via switch.

No, that's what I'm proposing.

Yes, but the bases are still physical, and if a thick layer is in the way, it won't emit.

I would love to have this, it could be a tweak for checkpoints that you spawn with it on or a logic tool to put it on the player, this would be very useful.2011-08-22 22:45:00

I think Power-Up Givers would be useful. They grant the power-up to either all players simultaneously or only to the one who activates the Giver. Power-Up Givers would be useful for a Ratchet & Clank level idea I have.2011-08-26 10:25:00

Hmm, I don't like using glitches, but the pros may outweigh the cons on this one... I'll look into it, thanks.

EDIT: Haha, thanks, I seem to already have the level in my queue. lols.
The light doesn't matter for me, but I would like to decorate the creatinator.

So I played the level.
The remover and grabinator seem to work fine, but the grapple and paintinator don't seem to work for me. (doesn't give sackboy the powerup)
Plus I need the creatinator too, which I didn't see in the level. :/

Weird. That's the nature of glitches I suppose.
I need the invisible creatinator (if it exists) to make it worthwhile anyway. Guess I'll leave it for now.
Thanks for the help, I'll still leave this thread here as a suggestion though. It sure would be handy the the OP were real.
