Rage at Mm! (With a call for help! T-T)

So... I was in the middle of making my RPG when I decided to work on the sackbot controls. Well, all hand objects are wielded in the right hand ONLY. I need (at least just my staves [Staves- plural version of staff]) to be in the left hand so that I can do aiming. I have been trying for the past 30 minutes, many ways to make the Right stick control the left hand WITHOUT taking away movement. I have come up with nothing. There is no physical way that I can find to make this work.

My rage at Mm is why they don't let you change the hand. The only solution that I can come up with is this: Mm- "We don't want right handed bots since we obviously don't know that RPG makers will need to use that." That is the only solution I can come up with.

Now this ENTIRE thing that I have been making needs to be re-thought as to how I'm going to do it. I can't just do wands because then I'll be ridiculed for "stealing" from Wizard: From Within.

My call for help is that if ANYBODY knows ANYTHING that could help me, please let me know in some way... I'm going crazy out of my mind trying to figure this out... T-T

have a custom mover attached. I did this with an Infamous 2 prototype (the right hand aims, yet you can still walk) and yes jumping works if you can program it right.

It's hard to explain in full as it can be VERY buggy at first and Since i'm not there i may get stuff mixed up over the web.

But ya, use a custome mover (tweeked advanced mover!)

AFAIK one cannot swing the arms while performing other movements and vice versa. This goes for players as well as controlled/noncontrolled sackbots (overriding their controlinator input signals). If you wish to go on with this concept, either change it so a player has to stand still while aiming or create a different aiming system altogether.2011-08-16 11:10:00

You can actually move and swing the left arm (using R2 and the right stick). You cannot however move while swinging the right arm, as L2 locks sackboy in place - this is likely due to the fact that this arm is controlled with the same stick as the movement of sackboy...2011-08-16 16:11:00

Would the grab animation substitute? I'm thinking you could control arm movement by moving around some invisible grab material. Then the bot could also run and jump at the same time.2011-08-16 16:18:00

I dont think no one would judge you for having a wand, if it's a wizard, wizards have wands thats natural. Do what you want. You always could just have your right hand shoot. and just attach like the glowlight or something to it.2011-08-16 17:30:00

... Ok... Tried that... Works... Sorta... T-T The bot still does that weird slidey thing when you run... Idk how to fix that... Anybody know? And Mail, could you TRY explaining? I have the basic setup. But I can't get the logic to work right... :/2011-08-17 04:12:00

Ok... I got this fixed. It works now! Yay! Now I just need to modify everything so that they all work with movers instead... Btw, I was able to figure out jumping pretty easy... It's still buggy but it works! 2011-08-18 06:01:00
