Another way to make objects top down.

Archive: 16 posts

1. Get A tethered jetpack out, & level post.
2. Turn on angle snap to 85 degrees & turn the level post as seen in the picture.

3.Turn off Angle Snap. Select both the jetpack & level post at sametime(jetpack 1st) & hold up on the right analog stick for about 8 seconds or until it looks like this.

4. Turn on Angle Snap to 90 degrees & turn it like this. Now Capture it!

5. Get whatever object you want top down & place it(by placing on different angles it causes different outcomes.

6.Turn off Angle Snap select the level post & your object at same time(level post 1st) & hold up on the right analog stick, you may have to repeat this process.

OPTIONAL STEP
If you look at the level post after you've done step 4 & you see it's angled down, Select it & hold up on the right analog stick for a few seconds until it straightens out a little more. Because mine wasn't straightened out it took longer for me to turn the objects and the bottom one went on an angle(which isn't a problem, just inconvenient)

Another Fact
If you have the level post on different angles you also get different outcomes on how the object is turned. So find the angles you want & stick with it.

Two more things
Don't twist the object to much with one level post when you see it shaking stop with that level post & twist it some more with a different one.
This way also allows every decoration piece to become top down, the creatinator way doesn't make the Training Shoe top down but this way does.

Enjoy 8^)

Argh, still away, there are several things I'd like to test with this.

Thanks for explaining this method.

well sour_canadian method seems to be easier to use and this one not work very well on spikes as his method. Well i guess both got there good sides and bad. Do you distribute that level post? if not you might consider it 2011-08-14 21:35:00

Yea I'd rather have my objects still be solid, capturable, & not go super far away when rotated lol.

& idk, I might publish it on LBP2

Thanks, this is helpful! I was using the old method, (which I know for a fact can be done without the creatinator).

The old method generally got rid of solidity because it was tricking the game into thinking it was a decal object. (Therefore it could be put on microchips.)

I just found an awesome glitch within this glitch. So I made this baby object.

http://i4.lbp.me/img/ft/a241379bc04a0b793404d19580a5164ae6beb50e.jpg

When I apply this glitch to him, it takes him into the background!

http://i1.lbp.me/img/ft/9811ab64c2627f13d2c77437317e20c685cd403c.jpg

So I glued this penguin to him.

And what a surprise, it took the penguin into the background too!

I think I just discovered a new way to put objects into the background!
Check out what I was able to do with these trees using this glitch!

So whatever you use it puts it in background? Your level post must be different 8^)

Yeah but it's using this glitch. Also, I don't think it's new-thread worthy yet because I don't fully know how to work it, so it's not ready for a tutorial until I find out how it works better.

Unfortunately, this doesnt work for me, nomatter how many times I try it. I am trying to look over the shoulder of a SACKBOT, which Im not sure this will do anyway.
The effect I'm after is seen in 'freefallin' (3D Skydiving)' by fotosynthesis1 (psn). Ive perused other threads and it seems it might be to do with capturing a bouncing bot, Im not sure. If someone can point me to the correct tutorial, I'll be very happy.
