Yea it's pretty poor quality. Now that we can export it would be nice to be able to take higher quality pics. You know if we could export/import, we would be able to save as many as we want and then bring them back into LBP, so no worrying about having to many photos saved within LBP2008-12-20 06:23:00

I'm not sure on the specifics of the game itself... but I think most use a 512x512 standard texture resolution. Any picture taken with your PSEYE is probably resized to fit within that size. Same as when you take any in-game sticker and stretch it really huge it gets pixelated.2008-12-20 06:41:00

It's probably so small because all the pictures you take, objects you make, levels built, costumes designed, community objects collected, and where you are in the main story including which items you have or don't have...

...all of that needs to be fit into one 5mb file. I know that they are looking at trying to address this issue, as it's way way too small, but at the moment, I think that explains the low resolution.

are you able to take these exported photos and then put them on an SD card or USB stick to then transfer them to your computer to use say... on a level showcase on LBPC?2008-12-20 12:29:00

There's only room for about 10 pictures before I'm told I need to delete some. Maybe if there was a tool that allowed you to take a high quality pic and immediately export it, without saving it in LBP, this would solve the problem.2008-12-20 12:56:00

That is a good suggestion. I am sure many of us would love to capture a decent resolution pic in game purely for the sake of using it elsewhere, for example to add to our level description in the first post of a showcase level.

If there was some way to save a high resolutuion picture just to my pictures in XMB while bypassing the LBP save file, I think that would be a welcome feature to be able to activate and deactivate at will.

Short answer: Yes Just do as you would normaly do to transfer an image

That is a good idea, maybe more of a screenshot type of feature? Would be the simplest way to do it. Add it as another option on top of the take a photo option we have now.

Here's a sample image in its original size. The resolution you get is 320x180.

Well, at least it's high quality. But would bumping it up just another 100x100 pixels be so much to ask for, MM? D;

Not that this info is much use, but from my investigations when building sackbook, the max size of in-game photos from the release version is 320x180px although PlayStation Eye images are 320?240px. Images from the beta vary a little; they also include 128x128px and a whoppingly massive 640x360px resolutions.

Oh, and merry Christmas all
