LBP Musician's Guild

*dons top hat, cape and cane* *steps onto soapbox* Hear ye, hear ye! Gather round, bards and minstrels! Singers and songwriters unite! I propose, on this night of Saturday, the 13th of the month of August, that forthwith we unite, together, in a Guild of trust and fellowship never before seen! To begin a group of fellow-minded creators from which flows all that is musical and fantastical and marvelous to the ear! To bring a symphony of symphonies, a cadre of collaboration, and spirit of friendly camaraderie! Yes, my fellow composers, I say to you this evening: we shall unite under a single banner to create and compose and celebrate all that is good and musical in this game we share called LittleBigPlanet!!! Join the LBP Musician's Guild (LBPMG) today! ------------------------------------------------------ So here's the details: Who: Musicians, composers, vocalists and those interested in learning or expanding their knowledge of the music sequencer (or oldschool sfx composing) What: An informal group of musicians, vocalists and composers that create unique compositions/covers for fun, collaboration and fellowship. Why: Uh, why not? When: If anyone else thinks this is a good idea, immediately. Where: Here on LBPC and other fan sites if it catches on. If so, may consider local "branches" of the guild, (i.e. LBPC Chapter, etc.) Some ideas I'm tossing around: an LBPMG sticker to put in your levels (or levels containing music by a member of the guild) somewhat semi-regular competitions (not sure about crown prizes, but you never know) tutorials for da n00bs collaboration = awesomeness public forum thread for requests, help, general discussion forum group here on LBPC and elsewhere if interested So, what do you think? (Oh, also I did about zero research into whether or not this has been suggested before, so pardon me if that's the case.) | 2011-08-14 03:04:00 Author: schm0 Posts: 1239 |
Heheh, That sounds intriguing. I, personally, love to do music, but am not exactly familiar with the sequencer yet. But I know some friends that will be drooling at the idea of this. | 2011-08-14 03:16:00 Author: Maxi Posts: 1176 |
I think this is a great idea and I want to join immediately. However I do lack the ability currently but I do have ample time to learn. Beam me up Scotty. | 2011-08-14 03:41:00 Author: Unknown User |
You should do this weekly, monthly, or annually. | 2011-08-14 03:53:00 Author: 49er Nation Posts: 429 |
You should do this weekly, monthly, or annually. Well, the guild would just be around. I was thinking of holding competitions every two months or so, just for kicks. Depends on who's interested. Guild members only, of course. So, that's two peeps interested. If we get to ten, I'll go ahead with the plan and open up an application/introduction/general discussion thread. | 2011-08-14 03:57:00 Author: schm0 Posts: 1239 |
Just started to make songs with the sequencer a couple weeks ago. My first song was the theme tune from Resident Evil, i also made the intro from Back to the Future for Mr_Fusions Miserable Flying Weather level. This sounds very interesting, i am still learning but as i write my own guitar tabs and make small tunes with music programs i am keen to do the same in LBP. | 2011-08-14 04:00:00 Author: Lordwarblade Posts: 761 |
First they barely reply to my requests for one or two songs, and now they plan an uprising... Sounds cool, anyway... I wish I had half a wit how to write songs... It's easy enough for me to compose a song in my head... writing it down is kinda hard, though... | 2011-08-14 05:07:00 Author: LBNinja Posts: 204 |
Sounds like a great idea to me! I'm rubbish with music sequencers, but I love to sing! Haven't published any levels of me doing so yet though. | 2011-08-15 14:49:00 Author: Unknown User |
Seems like an awesome idea. Lately, I haven't been able to continue with making any sort of level, however, **** near every time I turn on LBP2, it's to mess around with the music sequencer. I've made about two songs so far, and I'd love to improve my music making skills. I approve of this idea! | 2011-08-15 23:48:00 Author: Force Ten Posts: 60 |
