In the recent hide-n'-seek levels sweeping throughout LBP, you can open and close doors by pressing triangle. I know that an open door and a closed door are emitted according to weather a door is being opened or closed, however, I am not quite sure the best method for "switching between emitters" How, good Little big community, do you set the "max emitted at once" setting to 1 if you are working with two emitters? I have a working system that switches between two emitters, but it is horribly slow, glitchey, and often doesn't switch from open to closed or closed to open fast enough to hide the insides of the container. If you have a working system for switching between two emitters, yet only emitting one object at a time, please help 2011-08-14 00:42:00

a lot of doors are done by movers linked to directional splitters.

If you want to use an emitter, I would create your door object. On that object put an object destroyer set to vanish (disappear?) as a destroy method, and connect it to the output from a tag sensor.

Now, place your emitter and set it to max at once=1, destroy when max reached=no, and switch type to on/off. Then create the emitter by capturing or adding your object.

You will want to have a two pole selector, and attach output one to your emitter, and output two to a tag that corresponds to the sensor you attached to your destroyer.

Place a counter on your chip set to max of one and with its output run back into the reset input, and into the cycle input of your selector.

Now, connect your triangle button to that counter.

What this will do is that whenever you hit the triangle button it activates the counter that then immediately resets itself to ensure that you don't get a constant signal. It also cycles the selector to activate either the destroyer or the emitter to control your door.

Thank you all, I had a working system, but it wasn't nearly as good as the system explained here. I might just ask for help if I can't figure it out alone. thanks guys.2011-08-14 05:14:00
