I got that in my mind, Speed/boost pad? We have a bounce pad, dont we? so a speed/boost pad should go well. You can set how fast the players boost via it preferences and have ability to force to change layers, say you running in the middle layer and you hit it which sends you to the back layer. And how wide the speed/boost pad, to be 1 layer, 2 layers or 3 layers thick like a race kit. Agree?

Could be done with logic Again most things can be done with Logic and Bots. but that's not the point. you are happy we have bounce pads yes? well one could argue that we did not need them as we could make are own... but the point is it's about making things more easy on the creator, so we don't have to go to has much trouble to make things. *mew

I've suggested this exact concept before, but I didn't think of the layer changing or layer size ideas. I also suggested a boost ring for aerial boosting.

Maybe a boost ring would be better, it acts like a hamster tube and you set the speed and duration. Then it could be like falling into something which causes you so fall faster, instead of walking on something that makes you faster, because then you cant speed up or down.

I say give us both. I was picturing the Boost Ring looking like a torus, though. With a panel on the side displaying an arrow showing which way the ring will shoot you. Likewise, the Boost Pad has a glowing arrow display to indicate direction. The color for both of these boosters would be tweakable. Also, how about a Bumper object that bounces you away? It could work like a round version of the Bounce Pad.
