The Car Factoryahughf Hey guys, I created a new level, it's a platformer set in a Victorian styled car factory. The level mixes fun platforming sections with opportunities to assemble a car, which you get to race at the end of the level, of course! I would appreciate it if you took the time to check it out, thanks! | 2011-08-13 18:52:00 Author: Unknown User |

http://www.dan-dare.org/FreeFun/Images/CartoonsMoviesTV/SpongeBobSquarepantsWallpaper800.jpg Somebody giggled! Anyway, for a first level I actually really enjoyed it and thought you did a good job. Far better than the stuff I cranked out in the beginning. I liked the concept of platforming through a factory where you assist in making your own race car, similar to the turbo pack levels. For future levels, try doing more visuals such as stickers in the background, more components and machines that could be found in a factory etc. But yeah, you'll get there. Not sure if this is F4F or not, but could you please give my level Intermediate Logic Pack a play, and leave a post on the thread if you liked it or not? Thanks! | 2011-08-23 01:03:00 Author: Ricky-III Posts: 732 |
The Car Factory By ahughf Put together a car and then race it in this fun platformer! DESCRIPTION: (6/10) The description is very basic but sums up the level. SETTING: (14/20) The level is set mainly in a car assembly factory. Not seen many levels set here before. LEVEL LAYOUT: (14/20) The level is pretty straightforward and the player must work their way through the factory in order to build a car and then race it. STORY & CHARACTERS: (9/20) The story involves the player going through a car factory and assembling a car in order to race it through to the end of the level. This is it in terms of story and the only characters are a dog that you meet at the beginning of the level and two enemy guards that patrol some moving elevators. I love a talking animal as much as the next man but I would like to see more in terms of characters and story. VISUAL: (13/20) I thought the use of materials was good and I am fond of the blue material that is used throughout the factory as I have used it in my own levels. There is some good stickerwork in places and I thought that the way the frames of the car were used was quite clever. There is next to none corner editing in the level but in a building this should not really be an issue. AUDIO: (15/20) Nice audio to complement the visuals and the music fitted the level nicely as well. LOGIC: (15/20) There are a few moving platforms and switches to pull throughout the level and there is usually something going on. GAMEPLAY: (14/20) The level consists mainly of working your way through a car factory and assembling a car that is needed to race to the end of the level. Some of the platforming is a little tricky but it is not so difficult as to ruin the experience in my opinion. STAND OUT MOMENT: Pulling switches and seeing the cars being put together was very good. REPLAY VALUE: Yes. I have played through this a few times and the level is just as enjoyable on repeated plays. I also had the top score at one point. FINAL THOUGHTS: This was a nice little level that was fun to play. It made good use of the car materials and I think it works fine. It is clear that quite some time and effort was put into this. I would be interested in playing more from this creator. FINAL SCORE: 100/150. Actually rated 5 stars and hearted online. If you feel I may have erred in my review ahughf then please be sure to tell me and feel free to give me feedback on my feedback! Although my review may seem harsh I did play through this a few times and did enjoy it. Regardless of the score I gave In my review which is very much still a work in progress I rated your level 5 stars and hearted it online. Any level that I can see has had a lot of time and effort put into it will always get at least a 4 from me but I thought yours did deserve a five. I will keep an eye out for your future efforts. hey guys, sorry for the 2 week silence, been on holiday. Thanks for the feedback, really appreciate it, and to Ricky-III, yeah i'll give your level a play. | 2011-09-01 12:51:00 Author: Unknown User |
Hey, Ahughf I gave your level a play, and it is quite good, you used the brush a bit too much for pleasing visuals, and the car would look better if it was self made. Further no thing worthy to mention, If you have time, take a look at my level Steam and leave some feedback, no worries if you don't have time. Note: Normal feedback not possible due to school (-_-), I'll edit this later. | 2011-09-01 15:43:00 Author: nysudyrgh Posts: 5482 |
