new materials

it'd probably make a lot of things easier if we had a belt. No, not the things we put around our waists, but the things you use as a bridge to power other things. I know we could still do whatever we need to do with the current logic tools, but this would probably make some things easier to create or become possible of being created.2011-08-13 03:42:00

Do you mean like an object of sorts? Like the snake/tentacle items from LBP1, cept' they looped in a circle? Those would be pretty awesome. I can think of numerous uses for such an object. Tank treads for one.

And in responce to 'No, not the things we put around our waists', why not?
Belts, ropes and such would really fit LBPs style. An actual belt, used like something much bigger in LBP would be quite fitting, IMO.

First of all, all you should have named it was..."New Material"...not "New Materials". And why do we need a belt material? Thats....really useless unless you mean like the one's they use on escelators.2011-08-13 21:12:00

Thanks, Einstein. I'm sure nobody had thought of that.
That's not the point - extra bits and bobs with non-blocky shapes are great, and I fail to see any reason not to just go for it.

Most people love the objects from the Story levels / DLC levels. I use the tin can all the time, for instance. Because it looks cool. 'make your own' just doesn't look as appealing.
Try as they might, I've never seen anyone make a rope or conveyor belt look as good as those Tentacle/Snake objects.

Well, that's what I assumed he meant. A rubber material that, say, looks like a belt, didn't make much sense, so I sort of figured he meant an object.
