Make score bubbles give you more points? x2000...

I can't seem to figure out how to make a score bubble or a set of them give the paleyr a points bonus?! I've tried sensors and score givers but everytime I go over the score bubble I just get the usual amount and not the 2000 points I've put intot he setting of the score giver. For example, I'd like to put a score bubble high up in a hard to reach area with a sign or indication that it's a special score bubble giving the player a x2000 points. As an incentive to explore areas and for those that like to go for a high score. I don't have a clue how to do it. | 2011-08-12 10:39:00 Author: LittleBigDes Posts: 920 |
use a player sensor to trigger a follower (on the bubble) and a score giver once they get close enough? or tag the bubble, and use an inverted tag switch to trigger the score giver? | 2011-08-12 10:43:00 Author: julesyjules Posts: 1156 |
use a player sensor to trigger a follower (on the bubble) and a score giver once they get close enough? or tag the bubble, and use an inverted tag switch to trigger the score giver? Ok I'll give this a go later. I already tried a player sensor wired to a score giver, all on a microchip placed on the bubble. This seemed logical to me that it should have worked but didn't. | 2011-08-12 12:04:00 Author: LittleBigDes Posts: 920 |
I know exactly the problem you're talking about! The thing is, when you touch the point bubble, it disappears without the logic taking effect. This is rather different from what we come to expect from objects that are wired to destroy on impact/grab/etc., and do certain things the instant they disappear. The solution I found, and which you will see in Wander. (Like A Clock) (http://lbp.me/v/0t6p50), is as follows... http://i.imgur.com/pa5qC.jpg | 2011-08-12 13:43:00 Author: Unknown User |
That makes much more sense. Is the score giver wired to the tag sensor also on the bubble or on a peice of material behind it? I can see from your set-up that by inverting it to off, when the player pops it, it turns the tag sensor on thus activating the score giver. I'll give this a go. Thanks. | 2011-08-12 13:55:00 Author: LittleBigDes Posts: 920 |
Oops, should have made that clear in the text. The Tag Sensor and Score Giver should be on a surface behind or in front of the score bubble. The only things on the score bubble should be the Tag, and the Antigravity tweaker. | 2011-08-12 14:46:00 Author: Unknown User |
Another option you could try that is often used in levels attaching a grab sensor to your own made collectable. When the player grabs the trinket the grab sensor sets off a score giver and a destroyer. | 2011-08-12 23:35:00 Author: Xaif Posts: 365 |
