Perseid Shower
Archive: 14 posts
It is that time of year again... we even got a LBP costume representing it! It's none other than the annual Perseid meteor shower! Who has actually seen it? The peak is tomorrow night Aug. 12 - 13 but the past three days there have been shrinking windows of time to watch the shower between moon set and sun rise. Hopefully I'll have some better luck tomorrow, but I can always wait till next year! | 2011-08-11 08:57:00 Author: tanrockstan34 Posts: 1076 |
Living in a city, it's very hard to see the stars, let alone a meteor shower, so I barely ever see this kind of stuff. It's so upsetting since I'd really love to see it in person, it looks so magical on videos. XD | 2011-08-11 09:07:00 Author: Plasmavore Posts: 1913 |
Can it be seen in Alaska? | 2011-08-11 10:32:00 Author: alaskadawn Posts: 101 |
Maybe, but the window to see it in Seattle is about seven minutes so you would have less time. I don't live in a city but there is a small one nearby and there is a terrible amount of light pollution. It is also going to be full moon tonight which just =makes it harder to see. | 2011-08-11 13:11:00 Author: tanrockstan34 Posts: 1076 |
I hope I can see it tomorrow. I don't really live in a city, just a small town, but hopefully there won't be much light pollution. A few people mostly just seem to be interested in the meteor costume DLC, but that's what's made me interested in the whole thing anyway. Good luck spotting it, guys. | 2011-08-11 21:26:00 Author: Denim360 Posts: 482 |

I remember last year standing out in the cold for half an hour last year and not seeing anything, so hopefully I'll be able to see it this year. | 2011-08-11 23:26:00 Author: abyssalassassin Posts: 717 |
Yeah, I was outside watching it last year too, I saw part of the shower. | 2011-08-12 16:42:00 Author: tanrockstan34 Posts: 1076 |
see, living out here in the sticks has its advantages. Should have a clear view of it if I can pry myself from LBP | 2011-08-12 18:41:00 Author: biorogue Posts: 8424 |
