They don't officially name something 3. Example: Half-Life half-Life 2 Half-Life 2: Episode 1 and 2 The episodes were supposed to be the actual Half-Life 3 game, but Valve decided to release episodes instead to keep people from waiting. However, as you can see, Valve can't even finish the third installation to the episodes. So yeah, Counter Strike: GO isn't special in that criteria.
