Upsidewaysdown: gravitational silliness

This level was inspired in equal parts by the paintings of MC Escher, and by the corridor fight in Inception, in which the actors tumble about on the walls and the ceiling.

It's a straightforward competition to get as many points as possible. It's also unlike any other LBP level I've played.

But is it any good?! In the 24 hours since I published my level, it has received a grand total of no plays whatsoever!
So please give it a go and show it some love! (But only if it deserves it.)

I'd like some feedback on the following questions:


Does the gravity shift often enough or too often?
Is the gravity strong enough?
Is the time limit too long or too short?
Most importantly, is it FUN?


If there are any other improvements you can suggest, I'd like to hear them too of course!

Hello! Im teeing this level up right now. So here's what you can do for me...

I have made a level recently that has also recieved only 5 plays in the last 24 hours , and i t definitely deserves more.

So its called Sun Lander (named after the famed (and Mmpicked) level entitled Moon Lander by I_P1NKY_I. He gave me some help (alot of help, actually) with the logic and helped me do the overall part of it. So if you can give me feedback, I can give you feedback. Fun:
Heck yes! Although it should be online multiplayer only. 2 players in the same home/ using the same system ends up with a player dying every 15-30 seconds. You could use a movie cam or gameplay cam to zoom out, that might help a little bit.

Time:
Too long, but thats my opinion. Get others to leave feedback for that one. I think if you changed the time to 2-3 min, you'd be perfect.

Gravity:
Gravity is perfect, but as the rate it changes, it becomes a bit too strong. I dont think you can fix that, but changed the rate at which it does change and it'll be good.

Gravity Shifting:
Slightly too fast, but otherwise perfect, amount wise.

I came to this thread annoyed that there was two threads for the same thing. This clear things up, so thanks for saying this. Maybe talk to an admin about deleting it? I dunno.

Anyways, I played this level (by my self) and it was a really cool idea. It was one of those levels that made me think "How'd he do that?!?!?" and those levels are cool.
It would be better if there was a sound and lighting change when the gravity is shifting. IMO it would be better if the gravity was random and not cycling in a pattern, but I'm not completely sure this would be better. The visuals were slightly bland.
Overall this is a very unique level, but I can't say much about gameplay since I only played it by myself.

I don't have any levels for you to give feedback, but I do have ad LBPC3 project that will be finished before the end of the month. I will tell you when it's done.

EDIT: I forgot to say how AWESOME the badge and title are.

I really like the idea of signalling the gravity change with a sound effect. Shouldn't be too difficult to do. I'll see if I can get the camera to zoom in and out a bit more too.
I'll also add a few more seconds to the time before the gravity changes.

As for the bland visuals, unfortunately detailed visuals just aren't my strong point! In all my levels I hope to get the gameplay right so that people forgive me for not making them beautiful.

okay played ur lvl its was fresh and fun but did think of a couple of thinks u could do #1 maybe use some sort of indicator for the dif. gravitational pulls like gobal lighting or some thing else
#2 yeah i do think it should be just a little faster in the change
#3 maybe add some danger?
other than that i think ur lvl rocks^^ Cherrs

Thanks for the feedback! I've taken it on board and done the following:


Added a sound effect when the gravity shifts.
Slightly shortened the time between gravity shifts. (One person said it should be longer, the other shorter, so I went for slightly shorter.)
Zoomed the camera out a bit, so multiplayer should be less frustrating. I haven't tested multiplayer myself, so you'll have to let me know if it's better.
Added danger. The four resident sackbots are now evil. They will home in and attempt to destroy you!
Changed the game type from competitive to co-operative. You can still compete if you like, but hopefully it will attract more single players this way.


Let me know if there's anything else you feel the level needs to make it awesome!

Sorry for the delay, Yuboy3 and Bobtheyoungfish, but I've queued your levels now!

I received a few complaints about the lethal sackbots on my level. It seems some people want danger while others don't! To compromise, now only two of the bots are lethal, while the other two would like to be friends with you. :-)
