AMAZING Dead space level
Archive: 32 posts
hey after the new update I was messing about with the new level search system and i came across a pretty amazing dead space remake. This isnt any of my friends levels or anything and ive honestly forgotten the user but i hearted it. dont think MM could make a remake this good LOL. I wanted you guys to check it out aswell. If you guys wna play it together just add my PSN or ill add urs : Kaplan_T3 Bob moorley added the details of the level which are: Level Name: Little Dead Space Creator: DarknessBear thanks a lot one more question: does anyone know how he makes the lights flicker and go off? or is this an option in the lights that ive missed somehow? | 2008-12-19 16:33:00 Author: Kaplan_T3 Posts: 51 |
Yeah, I played that about a half hour ago and it's jaw dropping. The most incredible production values I've seen on ANY level in the game. It's only competition in that regard is Sackboy's Inferno, and I almost want to say it's even better. | 2008-12-20 04:33:00 Author: Unknown User |
The level is outstanding but not perfect (but what level is lol). Why would he make such a great level and then use those ugly stickers for his lettering? Music boxes and switches are visible. Jet-pack area needs to tweaked and double-life checpoint added. I kept flying up to get the box or whatever and I kept hitting the gas, it seemed very unforgiving. Anyway, great level that clearly took an insane amount of time to create but if I could make a suggestion to the those in charge it would be to maybe create another section entitled Reccomendations where people could post info on levels they have come accross that are not from these forums. I think the Level Showcase should only feature levels from the people of these forums. Just a thought | 2008-12-20 05:01:00 Author: OCK Posts: 1536 |
It could probably be placed as a sub-forum of Showcase to lessen the clutter on the main page. This is, of course, unless Showcase is just for our levels and not to showcase user-levels in general. Can it not be both? If so, then a sub-forum could be used right above or under Reviews. :hero: | 2008-12-20 06:46:00 Author: Unknown User |
I've just made a similar point on a different thread - I think this is a great idea. I also have another suggestion regarding the new distinguished users (perhaps when there are a few more of them) - it would be nice if at least one of them could take the time to look at new member's levels from the showcase and make a comment. ____________ | 2008-12-20 11:35:00 Author: KenBlayton Posts: 21 |
Another Dead Space level you may be interested in, unless this is the one you are talking about, is Little Dead Space. It's a phenomenon. | 2008-12-20 13:46:00 Author: Bear Posts: 2079 |
ye lol thats the one im talking about, its pure quality, anyone know how he does the bit in the begining where the ship crashes and it stops, lights go off door opens etc. How does he do these sequence of events? | 2008-12-20 18:13:00 Author: Kaplan_T3 Posts: 51 |
I think you can do it by using slow (or delayed) pistons to activate trigger switches..... | 2008-12-20 18:35:00 Author: KenBlayton Posts: 21 |
Agreed. This level is very awesome. | 2008-12-20 22:38:00 Author: Voltiare Posts: 646 |
Played it with a Friend. Look carefully at the pic I uploaded (LOL) | 2008-12-21 02:03:00 Author: DRT99 Posts: 431 |
Incredible level, in case anyone was wondering all the sequenced events were done with slow moving piston and magnetic switches. Or a wheel that slowly rotates activating switches. The use of lights and camerawork is incredible. the only thing that turned me off was the monster designs, which didnt really fit. and im hoping for a boss that calls for STRATEGIC DISMEMBERMENT in part two, which was hinted at near the end!! YAY! | 2008-12-21 02:10:00 Author: Gondito Posts: 1082 |
Heh, this level is very impressive considering how set pieces were set up. Very cool indeed. Also, consider this level a lesson in setting up mood and lighting. Ace stuff. Needless to say, this stage is an inspiration to me for my upcoming stuff. | 2008-12-21 08:39:00 Author: gevurah22 Posts: 1476 |
I think they've eased down the moderation, seriously though? The level is like an exact replica of Dead Space in a LBP version, I was kind of suprised it had so many plays without moderation. Glad to see Sony loosening up on the moderation. Or have I spoke to early? | 2008-12-21 09:55:00 Author: Whalio Cappuccino Posts: 5250 |

I was making a space level which you start off in a ship. It also had a 0-gravity section but I've decided to stop after playing this. | 2008-12-21 11:05:00 Author: Killian Posts: 2575 |

Perhaps you should post these details on the first post: Level Name: Little Dead Space Creator: DarknessBear | 2008-12-21 18:47:00 Author: Bear Posts: 2079 |
great lvl, but i hate those levels at the end that say "HEART ME PLEEEZEZZZ CAUSE I SPENDED SO MUCH TIME DOING THIS PLZHRTKTHX!!" but a good lvl nonetheless | 2008-12-23 22:43:00 Author: UltraNative Posts: 59 |
Hmm. I remember playing the beginning of the level, with the beginning cinematic of the ship's power going out or something like that, but I can't remember anything after. Oh well. It's levels like these that make me think that some people have got a bigger thermometer. | 2008-12-23 22:45:00 Author: Unknown User |
Yeah that level was awesome. The best part is when you have to take an arm to get to the secret area at the end. >_< | 2008-12-23 22:47:00 Author: Sage Posts: 2068 |
This is the best level I have played. Outstanding detail. | 2008-12-24 02:56:00 Author: GuyWithNoEyes Posts: 1100 |
Masterful detail, environment, and ambience, but it was quite short, wasn't that fun to play (more like fun to look at), and the camera caused me to die at the first set of spikes (couldn't see them). I think it's very much worth playing. I rated it three stars. :3 | 2008-12-24 05:02:00 Author: Unknown User |
wow amazing level. and there will be a sequel! | 2008-12-24 07:21:00 Author: muttjones Posts: 843 |
Everything was good, except the monsters. Wow those looked faked... | 2008-12-24 08:16:00 Author: Whalio Cappuccino Posts: 5250 |
I just played the level and i completely agree with Whaaaaale. Background and environment are very impressive. But it seems that monsters have been done with a near full thermometer and didn't fit at all with the level... Nevertheless, it was really good and i enjoyer a lot playing it! | 2008-12-24 17:14:00 Author: Takelow Posts: 1355 |
Very atmospheric, shame about the necromorphs. Still, room for improvement I guess. | 2008-12-24 18:25:00 Author: flakmagnet Posts: 1084 |
Since I've been playing Dead Space, this level managed to capture the feel of it perfectly. The monsters were awful though :/. | 2008-12-26 21:30:00 Author: NeoShai Posts: 64 |
I think this level is the type that redefines things for people (especially creators) in LBP. Just like rrr30000 and his gradius level inspired us to alter the mechanics of the game, or azure palace caused us to add depth to our levels, little dead space introduces the idea of interactive cut scenes. It also shows us how sequential lighting and sound can be used to change the mood instantly while playing. That to me makes this level perfect, because it will inspire people to think and create beyond what they thought was possible. Its now possible to make a level thats an interactive movie, sorta in the same vein that epcot center in disney world made body wars and the back to the future ride. imagine that, a first person view of a rollercoaster, or and interactive ride through space, or whatever I havent thought of that someone else soon will... | 2008-12-31 00:31:00 Author: tyboogie Posts: 96 |
Alright, I COMPLETELY agree with Phil about the spikes, it's a pointless time to edit the camera angle for the worse. I consider myself to be quite generous when rating levels... they usually get either four or five stars.I think if I was being serious about this level I would have to give it a 2.5 for gameplay and a 4.8 for scenery, (the decimals a purely to make things awkward). I, quite frankly didn't have a problem with the monsters, I loved the part in the elevator. However, it's simply BORING to play and is more like playing through Linger in Shadows. Despite this, he definitely gets my vote for the best looking level. | 2008-12-31 16:50:00 Author: Bear Posts: 2079 |
