Can you make players start in different locations?

If so, how? My concept is extremely simple: Each player is in his own rectangular space. A sackbot spawns and you slap it until it explodes for points. The first player to get 400 points wins. I would like to have each player start in his own enclosed room to avoid the confusion of each player finding a different mark and then emit the room around them. Also, if each player were to start the level in his own room, it seems I could make 1 level for 1-4 players instead of 4 different versions of the same level.2011-08-10 02:09:00

Have 4 controllinator each on a seperate hologram near the entrance gate and set to automatically enter so they go in them when starting the level.

Then put a follower in the controllinator output, set to follow a tag (different with each controllinator) with a large radius, these tags are going to be in the seperate rooms. So it'll take the players to their rooms.

Then have a tag sensor in these controllinators with a small radius (default should do) and this will eject the player.

I can't test this right now, but I think they'll get back in the controllinators due to the auto enter setting, you could fix this by using a destroyer and the conditions for this be when in the controllinator is in range of the tag AND when the controllinator output is NOT on, so that it destorys immediatly upon ejecting the player in his/her room

When you exit an auto-enter controlinator, you need to exit and re-enter the trigger radius for you to auto-enter again.

A follower is pretty slow compared to this slightly alternative suggestion: stick the controlinator on the location where you want a player to go to, set it to auto-mount and give it a huge radius. The dismounting logic remains the same.2011-08-10 13:58:00
