Just a suggestion, but LBPC should have a chatroom where everyone online could just jump into and start talking about whatever. Like what they have on CakeLair, that's pretty awesome, and since this is a bigger community I think ours would really help alot of LBPC members contact each other faster.

I really do think we've had one of these threads every month for eons now O-o I would love for this to be the case, but I've given up any hope that it would be so years ago. You could try forging a petition or something, I'd support it, I just wouldn't expect it to work :/

I really do think we've had one of these threads every month for eons now O-o I would love for this to be the case, but I've given up any hope that it would be so years ago. You could try forging a petition or something, I'd support it, I just wouldn't expect it to work :/ Pretty much, everyone wants it, but its not happening, apparently if there was, trolls would take over, people would cuss non-stop, no one would want to moderate it (even if people would say they would/ could) or wouldn't be possible 24/7 (even tho it goes the same for the forums.) and they can't make a filter it seems (dunno if they can't or just don't want to/ know how.) But for whatever reason, they just don't wanna do it, so doubt its happening.

Put simply, it's too much work for too little reward. We don't want to offer a chatroom unless we can offer the same sorts of content filtering we do for the forums - spam, inappropriate language, moderation, etc - and it's just not realistic. We can't expect anyone to sit in a chatroom and moderate it for hours on end. The only alternative is doing what LBPlanetarium does: putting up a short list of terms that you have to agree to before using it, so we don't have to do any of those things. The problem with that is, we're too big. We have too many people. The chatroom would devolve into its own sub-community, fairly separate from LBPCentral itself. It'd be like an "off-topic" forum, but faster paced and less regulated. That's not something we want. I know it's not the answer you want, but that's the way it is right now. :/

The chat pretty much deprives the forums of any content and activity, so having a chat here will probably kill our forum's activity.

I agree, there should be a chatroom on LBPC. I watched this video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x2hmO42s-tc) and set up an irc channel. Also, this site (http://www.wyldryde.org/commands/) gives you some commands for making tweaks such as adding mods, admins, muting if people flood, adding bots, and other things.
