No More PreMade Objects From Story?= A Better LBP


Know all those monsters and sackkbots and creationators in story mode that you saw in LittleBigPlanet and you could collect all of them? Well, LittleBigPlanet 2 doesn't offer that cheapness anymore. Only some controllinator objects, and other bits and bobs were objects that were awarded. Not even any obsticles or Contrapitions were awarded. See I saw once on youtube a level with absolutely no-player made objects except he STOLE someone's tank objects. Otherwise there were pre-made monsters, On fire but there was a big ledge that couldn't be jumped so there was a tetherless jetpack to boost you up, so the player on the video just flew threw the so-called 'level'.

At the end there was the tank and lots of comments knew he stole it. Although the owner of the object said it was just a little contest he won. I didn't think that...


After LBP2, the world of LBP grew into a creator curtor land of freedom.


So MM not making as many pre-made creations of theirs in a prize bubble is a wise choice. 'Cause if everything seen was avaiable as a prize, there would be no 3D layer glitch, or any other rare glitch known.

There are still LBP1 objects there but not many level have just only those objects.

I'm a little confused by your post... So you think less premade objects make the game better? Are you referring to the stuff MM made with materials and tools in Create or the things that look realistic like food, bits and bobs, balls...?

I noticed that in LBP2 there's more focus in stickers and decorations (especially dynamic decorations & materials) than pieces of scenery and obstacles like in LBP1. My guess is that those contraptions, vehicles and obstacles were made in LBP1 so people could figure out how to use the tools to make set pieces. Now that most players have figured stuff out, the logic became accessible and the tutorials section has become more of an organized encyclopedia, they focused more on making it prettier.

What you also may have noticed is that in LBP1 most logic was visible. They didn't even make the physics-based logic off-screen. They wanted players to check it out when replaying the Story mode and realize "Oh, so that's how they made it". Now in LBP2 all logic is hidden. The functionality aspect of the game has become easy to work on, so they focused on aesthetics and atmosphere more than they did in LBP1.

I agree that limiting these types of things use is good, but because the logic is now hidden I wish that there was a Mm moon that I could go into play the stage in a sort of create mode and pause/open all that logic, disable capture and it would be an awesome reference library.2011-08-10 03:12:00
