Are the materials in LBP1 available in LBP2? URGENT!

At the start of this year, my ps3 completely fried, "data lost forever" style, and therefore my entire LBP1 + 2 playthrough is GAWN. I saved my LBp1 data on a memory stick, but I lost that as well. Do I have to trawl through LBP1 again, collecting all the objects before I play LBP2, or can I just start afresh on LBP2? Are all the materials from LBP1 available in LBP2? | After a bit of searching, I found all the LBP1 music (http://lbp.me/v/xhzsn0) and hopefully all the items, though I wouldn't be too sure (http://lbp.me/v/05hdx6). I remember seeing a level on the Cool Pages a while ago that had all the LBP1 stuff, but I can't remember what it's called. If you want materials, they're not locked-out like DLC (unless it's LBP1 DLC of course), so you could have someone join you and just change something you've made into the material you want.
