The NEW Crown Glitch

I have no idea if anyone has posted a thread about this already so i'm going to make one about it. I have come across a level that, mindblowingly, transforms your costume to the crown and the rare littlebigplanet PSP t-shirt. this must be patched, we dont want people running around with a crown, do we? Its time people need to get off their lazy butts and create something good, EARN their crown. not using some cheap glitch to get it. the best part of the crown is the honor and accomplishment of EARNING it.2011-08-07 04:31:00

It's interesting how this is possible but it is. Something that should be pointed out, however, is the fact that the crown is only visible until the game is reloaded or the costume is changed. In order to reequip it, you would need to replay the level again. I think the level has been locked since then tho.2011-08-07 05:49:00

The level has been reopened recently and is trending fast on LBP.me

I played it (don't worry, I reset the costume so I lost it, purposefully) and the bad thing is that it actually works........we need to get MM to patch this, or shut down the level, or something! Who knows what can of worms this could be opening.....also notice how quickly it takes effect, you know how your personal sack thing shows up for the ratings? Well you show up with a crown in the ratings part, so that says it's in the level, I think.

Seriously, guys, we gotta get MM to notice this, if they haven't already

This is not good at all.
When I was a lad, the Rare Prize Crown had to be earnt! nowadays, these fraudulent costumes spoil its name.

thought I would also mention.
Wearing this version of the crown does NOT unlock the 'royalty' pin... so be safe in knowing that the true royals will always be safe 		2011-08-07 19:50:00

For the record, the people rating it bad who have the crowns probably either:
A. Actually earned crowns
or

Heh.. isn't the pin a little more important? If I see someone running around with a crown or has it in their pics and they DON'T have royalty... Reminds me when I was a little kid. When the rest of the class was busy coloring and creating, there was always one that thought it was cool to show off by eating the crayons.

I challenge you to actually create something constructive. The only reason I've ever wanted one is for to make A king character of mine
for one of the levels I'm working on better looking... But I can create a crown
out of 1 hat and deco... so it's not all that important to me.
And I hate trophies and Pins mean nothing to me.
So clearly I fail to see how having a crown is all that important to have for myself~

people who dont see value in the crown, it is actually a sign as too what has been accomplished (look at the last 2 crown contests, coming on 3!) people work for hours and months to get a crown, how do they feel after when 98 % of the community has it. the glitch isn't that hard to do, (no instructions but it involves going back in time if you know what i mean ) which means if somone else wanted to they could more or less ruin craftys ideas. being make them play my level hundreds of times a day and get (as of now) over 9000, no reference intended. point being the crown is like a reward for trying and succeding, and because of all the levels the new people of lbp are back to thinking "oh that weird crown dlc?? that was from lbp 1 right? my friend said it was in gardens or sumthin, idk oh what its a rare prize? no it isn't i got it 9 times " its become another "costume that mm never gave us" thing, im surprised no one had used that name yet. mm didn't want half the community wearing crowns. there was a reason. also, mods. if you want to know how its done, or if you want to try and think of a way against it, im all ears, shadowreaver PM if you dont know how, it may be needed for the get satisfaction post, though im not entirely sure. anyway, something i learned from all of this is that, people will allways be the same, they want what they dont earn and the mass of the population (or community) will allways support those who give what is wanted regardless of consquences.2011-08-08 20:38:00

You should have hidden how it was done, I saw pictures of the level with people on the elastic, so I'm guessing people saw the rest & if not is it that hard to figure it out...I made mine so no one can see anything about how it is done.		2011-08-09 05:35:00

I don't really understand why there is such a massive concern over this. What difference does it make that people you don't know and will never meet are going around with crowns/etc. I always thought it was the act of receiving a crown, and not the actual wearing of it, that people hope for. It's just something to make you feel good about yourself anyway, so other people having it....so what?

The DLC is another matter though. That's paid for items that people get for free.

The crown itself, much like a heat itself, is stupid and meaningless, and yes... Fairly useless. It is the act of getting a crown from Mm that is valuable. It's a simple costume piece. But the actual recognition is what these people who are glitching crowns will never have. Years of glitch finding will never earn you what a few months of hard creating will. Don't worry, I reset my costume. It makes me feel.. uneasy wearing things like that, like, that I didn't earn.
Gamerway always shows the crown off. But it's just a hat now. You can't trust anybody who doesn't have the pin. Think about it that way. Oh wait a sec here:

To do the "New" Crown glitch it involves buying/Owning he game Restistance fall on man (or some other Resistance game) And messing around with the RAM (Don't know many details on how to do it) And you download patch 1.00, so every glitch like spawnpop, overload, DLC glitch, PSN id to make your planets inside your pod, ect. It took me five minuets to get the crown from 1.00 to 1.05 once I knew exactly how, it's not hard, also this glitch can be done with any DLC & if you do it on 1.05 you can have all the DLC & use it.

I had a costume on that my friend doesn't own we did the glitch, & he can bring out the costume in create mode without needing the DLC not just wear it the game automatically thinks he has the DLC so he can do anything with it...hence why I never spread it		2011-08-09 18:15:00

Yes, crafty. You could have used this glitch for good. I am not detailing how, but there is a good & bad side to this glitch. (You might know it, might not) I have known of this for a long while, but thought it was patched in 1.05 (the overlord patch). And, as shadowstarkirby said, you should have reported it, not given everybody a fake crown.

O noes! The rare crown has been released! MM please patch it! Btw, when I went to this random level, I got crown but it made me feel guilty so I deleted it when I went back to pod. Then my friend played it and got the crown! He keeps talking about it and I got very mad so I reported him as a lier and crown stealer. I'm sure we've all been informed about the new glitch in the LBP community, a level by a person that somehow gives you a fake crown and PSP Week one shirt. I don't know if MM is trying to block it out or what, but I don't think anything has been or is being done to patch, mod, whatever, the level, to stop it. Now, I don't know how the glitch is done, and I don't wanna know. If I want a crown so dang badly, I'll make a more decent level than what I have. But I do have a few questions about stopping, or modding the level.

1. Is MM just not paying attention, as they're involved with the kayak adventure, what's it called, and LBP Vita? Or are they trying to avoid discussing it?

2. I've never used the "Good Grief" option on a level, and thus do not know the parameters of it. Can we use it on the level(s) to get some attention from MM?

3. How soon might there be a patch for it? Something that will check your costume, and reset if you have on DLC you don't own? Will MM wait until the score patch and toss this in with it?

I think #3, it will be included in the scoreboards patch BECAUSE the crown glitch takes advantage of the Overlord glitch. (The new one.) So, yeah.2011-08-10 01:59:00

The crown is not kept after you reboot LBP so it is not permanent. You can grief if you want but MM won't be taking action as I am pretty sure that Sony handles griefs. Mm is also working on the move pack and after they are "stepping away" from LBP.

Chill its only been "discovered" for about 2 days or so.

MM is aware of it, but they can't make a patch to fix it overnight, but they are pretty quick when a DLC bypass glitch has been discovered (this is actually the third one i think, these things apply to ALL DLC but its just the rare DLCs that are exploited) its usually around a week or 2 when a patch is made to fix it, which is quite a fast response IMO.

The good grief can work on elimintating these levels (it did to the first one) since these levels are a bannable offense (and will most likely lead to account and system bannings to these level makers) but unfortunatly it takes awhile (since it took 2 days to take down the original)

Personally if you are the sociable type on LBP, I think you should just take a break from the game, since 90% of conversations in-game is basically going to be about this. (Which is what I'm doing, i need a break from my project and Maples got some big new content thats pique my interest)		2011-08-10 02:06:00

If the crown is added on to sackboy, Than this glitch can be revolutionary.

If it changes your sackboy to just a crown, than, eh.

Heh, one thing I find kinda funny is that if you search "crafty-paradox" on LBP you will get 58 of the exact same "PLAY THIS LEVEL FOR THE SAKE OF LBP2 (message for crafty-paradox) levels before you even get to crafty's... As this may be a group of people actually trying to help but its complete spam if you ask me. Im willing to bet several of them are copyable too.. :/ I dont see why the fuss is so big about the glitched crowns. I know they are rare but its the pin that is more important.2011-08-15 16:29:00
