How do you make a sliding door with a in/out mover?

Archive: 5 posts

For example, there is a switch to grab that moves the sliding door to the front layer so the room is closed, and then if I grab it again, it will open again which will make the door go back to the middle layer.2011-08-05 00:32:00

Put 2 separate in/out movers on a selector switch, and have a grab sensor wired to the selector so each time you grab it it switches.2011-08-05 01:06:00

that should work. here's a way to do it with 1 mover.

You will need:
Grab sensor
Toggle switch
Not gate
direction combiner
in/out mover

Connect your grab sensor to the toggle switch. Connect that toggle switch to the NOT gate, and one input of the direction combiner. Connect the NOT gate to the other input of the direction combiner. Then connect the combiner to your mover.

Just set the toggle so that the door is in the correct initial position at start up. Now every time the material is grabbed, the door switches positions/directions.

...or just connect the grab sensor to the cycle input of a two-port selector, and connect the selector's two outputs to the direction combiner.

Yeah Aya, I think you are right. That is probably the most thermo efficient, and would eliminate a frame of delay.
I just find Toggles easier to glance at and tell where they are set, especially when zoomed out.
