http://www.mediamolecule.com/images/uploads/john3.png (http://www.mediamolecule.com/john/) ZOMG!! Hey everyone, first of let me just say "ZORT!" ok now thats over with I can get on to the slightly less serious business of me and my likkle sailboat trip around the uk, Its a bit like when you go to the beach for the day but bigger! in fact 2450 miles bigger! My mission should I choose to accept it. . . . wait! I have already accepted it?! is to Kayak around the country in a bit of plastic shaped like a toy boat, with nothing but my "massive arms" and a paddle to carry me the distance, hold on I do have a kite Too for those extra windy days but my arms are still "MASSIVE" grrrrrr!c I will be setting of from guildford town centre on august the 8th and kayaking through london to the sea where i will paddle myself like crazy in an anticlockwise direction around the uk before finally heading back down through london and finishing back in guildford, This should "paise be to Russ" take about 2 months unless : A) I die B) I die C) someone steals my kayak anyway now you know what I'm doing its time to ask "why on earth would you do that you nutter?" well quite simple really, it seemed like a good idea! plus i'll be attempting to raise money for Games Aid uk http://www.gamesaid.org/ Why Games Aid? I hear you cry, thats easy I work for a company called media molecule who make the fantasmic little big planet, so It seemed obvious to me to support them So if you have read this and find it remotely amusing, horrifying, brave, insane or have pretty much had any emotional response please please please sponsor me! that would be super! Plz can I haz sponsor? there will soon be a blog on Mediamolecule.com too so keep you're eyes peeled all thats left for me to say is kthnkbye! So that is what I walked up on when you were drawing England? I thought I heard mention of kayaking around it or something. Instantly I discounted it as "crazy talk", but I never considered the source! lol So you talking two months off work? Hmmmmm... fascinating! Good luck and keep us posted! | 2011-08-04 16:35:00 Author: jwwphotos Posts: 11383 |
There's only 1 appropriate response to johnee's statement... o_o Why on earth would you do that you nutter?!! You have your whole life to live and this is how you intend to end it?!!!!... Your right, it is a good idea. Send me a post card from London, please. | 2011-08-04 16:41:00 Author: Goober1823 Posts: 76 |

Don't you think you could get more charity money by auctioning off your pants? Seems like a safer alternative, and much more rewarding for the top donator. | 2011-08-04 17:47:00 Author: Voltergeist Posts: 1702 |
Simply amazing! However, I would hate to hear of your untimely demise and permanent placement in the cod and shark bait industry! Do me a favor: bring a life preserver. And wow, just wow! You must have quite a pair to attempt something so bold! (Arms, mind you. A pair of arms.) I wish you the best of luck and weather, and I hope you raise a metric ton of cash for this good cause! For the love of all that is good and nautical, will someone please sponsor this man? | 2011-08-04 18:00:00 Author: schm0 Posts: 1239 |
That is crazy. Also sounds like a load of fun! Good luck to you and please be safe. | 2011-08-04 19:02:00 Author: biorogue Posts: 8424 |

Fatigue is actually an antidote to boredom. He'll be fine - if anyone can have a sunshine-y outlook on the thought: "Bugger all, I've gotta row another x miles today AGAIN?!", it's this man. Lemme give that Games Aid thing a look. I support the idea of Johnee doing dumb things For Great Justice. EDIT: In seriousness, is there a link to follow to specifically support you? Or will this be in the later Mm link? | 2011-08-04 20:42:00 Author: coyote_blue Posts: 422 |

I'm confused. Will you be paddling non stop for two months? Will you be obtain your sustenance via photosynthesis? Or will you be making stops at all the pubs? Which my very basic knowledge of England says is the chief financial center of the country? Regardless of if you're actually doing it nonstop... uh... you're crazy, but I'd say you'd be even MORE crazy to paddle around the two Americas... come on, someone do that! It's totally physically possible! ... But still, I can't pay money but I can... uh... pay peanuts? :/ | 2011-08-04 22:29:00 Author: RockSauron Posts: 10882 |
So that's how you raise funding? I LIKE IT! Word of advice, if you see boats in the sky, don't trust them! | 2011-08-04 22:31:00 Author: gdn001 Posts: 5891 |

I love the idea! Stay safe man, and enjoy the trip. Sure it'll be great! Good luck Johnee, as it will be a trip of a lifetime! | 2011-08-04 22:36:00 Author: Phosphorus15 Posts: 463 |
You should find some source of contact, so you can blog, tweet or face (lol I said face not status) your latest part of the journey. (Make sure you turn it off to save power. Yes it can last 2 months if you do that.) I'll try to sponsor you my good man! I'll visit you on the way. You never know. And if anyone asks what your doing, say your fishing, then look away. (Funny, lol) Can you fish? I'm gonna end this reply now.... | 2011-08-04 22:36:00 Author: Roneranger Posts: 415 |

I would think you'd have someone following you so you can have food, fresh water and a tent to sleep in. That, or stop by towns every now and then to get snackage and then pass out somewhere under the stars, curled up next to your kayak | 2011-08-04 22:59:00 Author: claptonfann Posts: 228 |
My face when this thread: http://i750.photobucket.com/albums/xx148/CyberSora/RainbowFace.gif Johnee... I love you. If you die, then I shall revive you... with love. Oh, and no homo. Yeah. >_> | 2011-08-04 23:02:00 Author: CyberSora Posts: 5551 |
Simply incredible Johnee. I'm lost for any kind of witty response.... I took a look at the site, but I'm waiting for your justgiving/donation page before I sponsor | 2011-08-04 23:17:00 Author: rialrees Posts: 1015 |
Johnee! Good luck and dont' die! If you do, at least I got to meet you (at lbp meetup). But, lets not think of that , hopefully I'll be able to donate to the cause and sponsor you. | 2011-08-04 23:24:00 Author: Ricky-III Posts: 732 |
That's so nice of you, good luck! Have fun crossing the big blue. Where all here to support you . | 2011-08-04 23:24:00 Author: Sport_dude Posts: 622 |
That sounds amazing, I wish you good luck. I'd provide a team of assassins to protect you but they're on holiday. And I can't provide you with sponsor money because; due to the fact that I'm under the age of 18, I don't have a credit card/debit card/paypal etc to donate with. And nicking my mum's probably isn't the most sensible idea. I've canoed all of 15 miles in my life and I was tired at the end, so I have no idea how you could attempt something like this on such an epic scale. It'd be even better if you actually survived the thing, and the fact that you're doing this for charity... woah, major respect. If by some minute chance I see you out there I'll give a shout out | 2011-08-04 23:48:00 Author: abyssalassassin Posts: 717 |

You'd probably get more support/attention if you took a real, live yak instead of a kayak. Seriously, though, good luck, and avoid A and B as much as humanly possible. | 2011-08-05 00:21:00 Author: Starchy Posts: 353 |

Cant you just add swimming mech legs to your kayak? If anyone can do that, it would be you! Seriously man, this is one amazing adventure your about to have. It would be really cool if you could bring a notepad and document everything that happens during your trip, and post it here for us to read, (Although I'm not sure how youll be able to write if the waters become less calm) Good luck, and I really admire what your doing for those children. | 2011-08-05 15:46:00 Author: grayspence Posts: 1990 |

A very commendable and worthwhile endeavor John. I hope you are successful not only raising the much needed funds to support these less fortunate children, but in raising awareness as well. LadyLuck__777 and I have worked with children in our area for several years now, not so much monetarily, but by building their confidence and self worth and esteem, empowering them to achieve their dreams. It's all about bringing hope into their worlds in whatever way we can. When your quest is completed, and you give them the gift, don't forget to give them all a hug too--that will touch their hearts, and yours. BRAVO!! | 2011-08-07 22:55:00 Author: RickRock_777 Posts: 1567 |
Wow, thats nice! Good luck and be carefull. Unfortunately, I can't donate (although I'd like) and my drawing skills equal the attack skills of a Magikarp so thats all I can do. | 2011-08-08 16:39:00 Author: nysudyrgh Posts: 5482 |

Welcome back John. I was sorry to hear mother nature's impending peril interrupted the serenity of your relaxing paddle. The image posted by Mm did look a bit threatening , as I have never seen waves with teeth before , but I agree it's best to be cautious. Attempting such a feat earlier in the year next year should also give you a reprieve from the summer heat. Good luck. | 2011-08-25 23:29:00 Author: RickRock_777 Posts: 1567 |
