What do you like collecting in levels?

Archive: 18 posts

Since my level is nearing an end (cough cough https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=61107-Caverns-in-the-making-%28part-1-images%29). I would like to find out what people like to collect in levels. Either from acing a level, collecting all items and completing a level:

1 Sackbots used in levels
2 Costumes related to the level
3 Logic and set pieces made in the level
4 Custom stickers from the level
5 None of the above

Set pieces and logic. I love tinkering with all sorts of objects, especially if they have logic/mechanics/both within them. I rarely use any costumes acquired, and stickers only when they fit to the level (e.g must have a funny sentence/picture/drawing/etc, which about 90% of stickers I have come across don't have),

[*As a side note, I'm actually working on a hub level, which is going to showcase all sorts of mechanical gizmos I have made (now they're scattered all over my moon, and I'm too lazy to build a dedicated level for each of them)]

I actually have 2-3 pieces of logic or set pieces that I wouldn't mind sharing.

May be I should have added in if people prefer logic and set pieces to be editable. I've come across logic/set pieces that are not editable but you can still view the microchips and logic behind it to come up with your own. So it's not a bad thing, especially since copies of copies of varies things are yet copied and published everywhere in the community.

What about sackbots that have a costume on with their logic intact? 2 in 1.

What about vehicles and the custom soundtracks?2011-08-03 23:20:00

I'm not too bothered about vehicles. But that's only because I don't actually have a need for them in my level at the moment, but they're not a bad thing if done correctly. Also, I should have put in custom soundtracks, but I can't edit the poll.2011-08-04 00:40:00

Set pieces or Vehicles. I never use them, I always make my own stuff, but they are often alot of fun to dissect if I'm not too sure how they got something working.2011-08-04 00:47:00

I'm a simple guy, I like point bubbles but turn off all collectibles when I play community. And it's not that I like a high score, it's just a good way to keep the pace and liven up a level, and works as a subtle guide. Perpetual pointless reward to keep me going, sort of thing.

But definitely, when I go into a level intending to collect something, it's logic or useable material.

Music for me.
Since I have no skill in that whatsoever.

Ha ha me too, I am really bad at making music even though many years ago I used to read music and play the piano.

Anyone know where I can find a subtle mystic cave type music track from to use?

Yeah, I only collect music and race activating stickers. The more music options the better.2011-08-04 21:49:00

for me it would defitnely be music, I like to look at every ones music and compare them to my own, to improve them. And maybe logic chips, but for the most part none.2011-08-05 21:11:00

Well from the results I can say that majority of people do not like collecting anything in levels. Which is understandable if what you're given is useless and since it clutters up your pop-it. However this is followed closely by people liking 'logic and set pieces' as well as custom stickers and sackbots. The least popular being costumes.

So in my level that I will be publishing today (Saturday the latest) I will be adding in two set pieces with logic intact, either as a collectables or for acing.

Peronally, I'd question the sample size of the poll. I realise that LBPC in general probably does have this mindset, but 25 people is a small number to use when gauging for population trends. Besides, what even LBPC thinks may not reflect the collective of LBP due to bias.

...Sorry folks, that'll be the Zoologist-in-training side of me speaking. Ignore me!

Of course you're correct there. It's way too small for a definite conclusion. But it gives me a quick overview for a small few and is more of a snap shot. Also because I wasn't sure wether it was worth putting anything in my level to collect in the first place.

Maybe I should re-open the poll again? With no close deadline.
